A Deeply Disappointing and Unacceptable Experience at Skylight Hotel I stayed in a mini suite at Skylight Hotel, and I was shocked by how terrible the experience turned out to be. The staff were rude, impatient, and made me feel completely unwelcome from the moment I arrived. For the high price I paid, I expected decent service – instead, I was treated with disrespect and inflexibility. Friends and family who came to visit me were not even allowed to come up to my room. I wasn’t trying to throw a party – just to see my loved ones for a short visit – and even that was forbidden. The hotel felt more like a guarded facility than a place of hospitality. Worse still, the treatment I received clearly depended on the color of my skin. White guests were treated with smiles, courtesy, and flexibility. I, on the other hand, was made to feel like I didn’t belong there. It was blatant discrimination, and I will not stay silent about it. I had originally planned to extend my stay for three more nights, but after one evening, I made the immediate decision to leave. I’ve stayed at many hotels, and this was by far the worst service I’ve ever received. Skylight Hotel should be ashamed. I will never return – and I strongly advise others to think twice before booking here.

Stayed here during the Meskel holidays. Checking in took some time (2 hours of waiting) since we had no choice but to go to the hotel early before the roads close. Place has modern amenities that made for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is okay, a good selection for vegans and health conscious alike.

The room is quite comfortable, the hotel is surrounded by beautiful environment, the security is good, the facilities and lobby are good

This hotel is situated in the in-transit area of the international airport in Addis Ababa and well worth the money if you have a long layover. The room is lovely and clean, the shower - heavely, and the bed - sublime. In addition, the breakfast buffet had a wonderful variety and was really delicious. The airport shops and restaurants are very expensive and facilities not great, so it is definitely worth booking into the hotel. It's considerably cheaper to book through trip.com, just be sure to book at least a day in advance if you are landing very early - bookings need to be confirmed by the office which only opens at 8am (Ethiopia time). (My photos don't do the bed or shower justice!)

I've traveled to dozens of countries, but I've never encountered hotel staff as attentive and friendly as Selam and Robel. Because of them, I will definitely choose Hilton in the future. I've never felt this way in other hotels; it's truly a first for me. They are invaluable employees.

A beautiful hotel and a great location close to all services. The rooms are spacious and the buffet is very good. The staff are respectful and their treatment is excellent. I will mention a number of them for the reception staff, Teddy + Henok and the new employee Meba. Thank you all. We were happy with you on vacation. I hope to meet you soon, God willing 🙏

It's a standard business hotel, not cheap. The area is safe and bustling, with cafes and restaurants aplenty. It's close to the airport, and there's a free shuttle service. I didn't have a good experience with the airport pickup, but the drop-off was booked in advance and arrived on time without any issues.

The hotel is not in the city center so there is nothing nearby, but it is not far to the city center by taxi. The hotel has a swimming pool and spa, but I didn't try them. The room is also average. If you want to stay, I suggest staying at Hyatt Regency. You won't be disappointed

The rooms are excellent and cleaned everyday, the staff are very friendly and always willing to help, food is delicious and available 24/7. Habtom is an excellent employee.
