0.12km from IlirWhen we arrived, I rang the belll twice. A nice lady opened the front door. She turned out to be a copatriot, not the host. After a call the host arrived an hour later. It turned out there had been a miscommunication between our tour operator and the host about our toa. The rest went well, helpfull hosts, nicely furnitured room. Bathroom more design than practical though. Breakfast limited and enjoyed outside in the neighbouring bar.
0.14km from IlirI spent a weekend in this b&b room nr 1. The staff called me several times in the days prior to my arrival, to learn my E.T.A. I believe they wanted to make sure there was someone at the reception, when I did. The room was small, essentially furnished, clean, very quiet. The bedroom curtains were falling off from one side, I told one of the staff, Daniele, and he promptly tried to fix it as he could, with some scotch tape, that did not last long. This matter should have been taken care prior to guest arrival. Same issue with the TV remote not working, could not use it for the lenght of stay. Breakfast is abundant and served in the room at the requested time. The staff was friendly and accommodating to their capabilities, but for the price requested, I would have expected a little more attention to details, regarding the room.
0.18km from IlirThis is an understated B&B to the extent that, even standing outside the entrance on the street, it doesn’t exactly hit you in the eye. True, there is a plaque on the wall, but that was partly obscured by leaves, and then there is the intercom call panel, but the label for the property was hard to spot even when you knew it was there. Anyway, the B&B is a third floor apartment in a block accessed from a recessed, mirrored-glass street entrance; although the building itself is modern, the B&B is furnished in a more retro style. We arrived by car and, having made contact with the hosts via the intercom, the gentleman of the property came down to the street and opened up the metal gate to the side of the entrance, which gave access to the underground car park with individual garages; this was provided free of charge but it’s worth booking a place in advance. We then made our way to the third floor, where we were welcomed by Simona, who showed us the facilities and our room. The room was of a good size but the bathroom was tiny by Italian standards – basically it was the width of the shower cubicle with the fittings arranged in a line down the room; possibly not suitable for someone of larger stature. The bathroom also had a particular smell that we put down to the fact that the shower cubicle seemed to be lined with reed matting. Breakfast was spectacular - apart from fruit, there was a whole array of cakes, tarts and pastries, many of which Simona had made herself. Having managed to sample just a few on the first morning, there were even more the next day! The B&B is in an excellent location just a 10-minute walk to the centre of the city and Lecce is small enough to cover easily in a day. Overall, we were pleased that we had chosen this B&B.
0.2km from IlirThis is not your usual B&B. It is the realisation of a dream by the owner Dominico. He spent a lot of time studying what makes the perfect vacation accommodation, in every detail, and he made it happen. You will see right away the care he put into every room, the decor, the comfort, the little touches that make it special. You will also appreciate the breakfast area and the wonderful variety of food. This place is beautiful! It is also very conveniently located in center Lecce, which is one of the most spectacular cities in Italy, the "Florence of Salento." I hope to return soon!

0.25km from IlirSo, let’s start- great location, just off amphitheater square, lovely room with a great bathroom and a four poster bed, decent breakfast, free at a nearby cafe. So why not five stars , the staff. As advertised by the hotel, I emailed the owners (twice) with my arrival time. When I got there, no one there, and on calling the owner he didn’t seem to care and said someone would be there soon to open up. After sitting on our luggage outside the property for 45 minutes, his colleague turned up. He was polite but no apology. Secondly, every day, we got back to find our room had been cleaned but our door was left unlocked, not good. So, great apartment, should be amazing but in the details, the staff let this place down.

Hotels Near Ilir In Lecce Review
We truly loved our 2 day stay at Cadelli Luxury Suite in the 'One Bedroom Apartment' which is ground floor (maybe 3 steps to front door) All rooms were spotlessly clean The bedroom is large beautifully furnished, bed & pillows very comfy, lovely linen, very quiet, windows closed no noise - it is air conditioned. Big bathroom, good shower, fluffy white towels, usual toiletries, hairdryer etc. The Kitchen - is huge all amenities if you want to cook, fridge had some breakfast items, juice, yoghurt, bottled water. There is a Nespresso coffee maker, also cereal, jams etc and each morning Tania arrived with yummy fresh warm pastries & bread. This small boutique B & B is absolutely perfectly located for exploring Lecce - it is situated in a quiet little street behind the main Duomo -a 2 min walk to Piazza Duomo & 5mins to Piazza S.Oronzo ... and less than 15mins to the Train Station - a very easy straight forward route. Tania who checked us in is just delightful, full of wonderful suggestions of what to see & where to eat. Restaurant Tormaresca is one of her favourites, not touristy, a good mix /fusion of modern Italian and almost Asian - we thoroughly enjoyed it - 5 minutes from the B & B. We also ate at 'Le Zie ' original trattoria must book - so good. Also check out the wonderful deli Golosita del Salento around the corner very handy for that bottle of wine, olives, prosciutto, etc Thanks Tania for looking after us so well, we would love to return one day.
I can't say enough about the staff and how welcoming they are. The people at the Dimora San Giuseppe were very nice and helped us to plan anything that we needed, in additional they sugested a nice and great place where to spend our holidays in Salento (Restaurants, Beaches & archeologic places). We slept in an amazing and luxur room with all confort. Our breakfast have been PHENOMENAL because everything it's fresh and healthy. Location is close everything around downtown than It's so easy run around there for the tourist trip and come back to rest before a nice dinner in some amazing restaurant that are all around the palace. COVID-19: We saw a full activity by the staff to prevent any issue with the virus, that was very confortable for our brain in order to think only about to live our vacation. Dear Marco & Simona we will come soon at your amazing Hotel because there we fill like at home. (for them "clean and fragrant environment" are the keyword) David & Elisheva
We booked a garden view room in this hotel, which is located about a 5 minute walk from the old, walled part of Lecce. I had thought we would be given one of the rooms pictured on the website, located I think at the end of each wing of the building, and with its own terrace overlooking the neighbouring large garden, but instead we had a room (one of three) on the top floor of the building. There is no lift, so this meant carrying our staircases up several flights of stairs. Our room was in the middle of the floor, and lead off a large terrace and then a shared dining room with a galley kitchen. This room was never explained to us, so I'm not sure who is allowed to use it. Our bedroom opened onto a narrow balcony with one chair and three air-conditioning units — one for each of the adjoining rooms, as well as one for our room. On the second night the rooms on either side of ours were occupied and you could hear the other guests as they came and went from their rooms, or talked on their phones. The pump of the solar hot water system, which was on the roof above our room, was also audible, like a muffled siren noise. Breakfasts in the ground floor dining room were OK, but there wasn't a huge choice (e.g. no toast or eggs offered). We were given a reduction in our tariff to cover the inconvenience of the noise, which was kind of the owner, Deborah. One thing to note is that the check-in times we were notified of when we booked (4.30pm-8pm), and which we abided by, do not seem to apply as Deborah told us we could have checked in earlier in the afternoon. Parking is easily available in the streets outside. It is a pity that the rating system on Trip Advisor doesn't have an extra category between Average (3 stars) and Very Good (4 stars), as I would rate Palazzo Dei Dondoli as Good, not merely average.
We never knew we could have access to such a beautiful and historic Palace in Lecce! We stayed two nights in the Suite Barocca room. Just great! Beautiful interior design, together with amazing views of Lecce! The host, Graziana, was super welcoming and interesting to speak to about Palazzo Marini. Truly a piece of art, with a modern concept in a historic city. Great location too. Wish I could have the breakfast every morning :) Very happy about our stay. I can only recommend this place.
Initially we had booked 5 nights accommodation for a Deluxe Room including breakfast. After spending 1 night, we needed to amend our stay, so we ended up staying just 2 nights, unfortunately. Palazzo Bignami and its owners are wonderful! They were so gracious about amending our accommodation details, and we are so grateful. So to describe this lovely accommodation: Arriving by train, its an easy 10 minutes walk to the Palazzo. Its located in a very quiet street just outside the old town. The map provided makes it easy to get around. We were so graciously greeted by Liana & Enzo. Buzz from street level and the front door opens. There is a modern lift to take you to level 2 for reception. The area is beautifully designed and maintained. We were shown the beautiful breakfast room and shown to our room, number 10. Everything explained in clear detail. The room & ensuite is so lovely. There are electric shutters which block out the light. Wifi can be relied upon. The bed is so comfortable & so are the choice of pillows. There is a heater in the room, which works really well. Tea making in the room. Our windows overlooked the rear garden area. In the ensuite the hot water works well and there is a heater in there too. It was explained that in the breakfast room there is free mineral water and cake and use of the coffee machine if you wish. Breakfast is a sight to be held. Served between 8-10, there is such a varied array of great quality foods served buffet style. Upon level 3 is a huge terrace which can be used. Great sitting area We received a great recommendation for a restaurant- see separate review for La Cucina. Liana very kindly helped us with printing train tickets & airline tickets, for which we are very grateful. We are so sorry we had to cut short our stay with this lovely couple, but have vowed to come back & when we do, we hope they have room for us.
A great hotel with friendly staff as well as a great location to visit the historic part of Lecce. The rooms were average size and very clean with balconies but no pool at the hotel. The room rates were approximately $100 Canadian per night. We walked 15 minutes to the historic center that had great restaurants. The hotel restaurant was very sparse and just mediocre. There was a Conad grocery store a half block from the hotel with everything you need. Breakfast was great and was included and a small bar that had plenty of ice, which can be hard to find in Europe. We would highly recommend this hotel for travelers not wanting to be right in the busy historic center. Parking was free in front of the hotel. We used this as our base to see other towns in Puglia. We have to thank the staff again for making our 5 day stay very enjoyable!
The city is small and the location is convenient. The room is large and the balcony is very large. It's very comfortable. The city's water quality is relatively hard, and it's not recommended to drink the boiled water with a kettle. The hotel does not provide drinking water, you need to buy it yourself.
Palazzo Persone must be the best situated accommodation for anyone wanting comfortable and superbly presented rooms in the centre of the Old Town of Lecce. It is integrated inside a site of Jewish historical significance where rooms have been refurbished to the highest standard so that they are both comfortable, well lit and equipped. The building lies above the Jewish Museum, certainly worth a visit. Palazzo Persone is distinguished by the exceptional and friendly service provided by the family members who were always available to help. We were pleased to take up the private parking, offered just a short walk away, as a welcome solution to the car parking problem in the area. Francesco was most helpful in helping us manage arrival with baggage when access to the rooms by car is limited due to the pedestrianisation of the immediate area. The only negative in our stay was that there was some late night disturbance in the streets surrounding Palazzo Persone, but one has to accept that this is a necessary and expected problem which is bound to occur in rooms in such a central place in the town. Lecce is a delightful town, with lots of interesting things to see and do, and visitors are recommended to enjoy the town and surrounding areas from Palazzo Persone.

From experience I prefer a smaller, family-run hotel to a larger, more impersonal place. You can build up a relationship more easily and feel appreciated, not just for your custom but for the opportunity to exchange views and compare cultures. And so it transpired at Palazzo Belsanti. As others have commented, Alessandra and Andrea are a delightful young couple who communicate their enthusiasm for the hotel and indeed for their home town of Lecce and region of Puglia. From arrival I was made to feel very welcome and was able to benefit from many useful and helpful tips - walking itinerary, restaurants (off the tourist trail) serving authentic local cuisine, suggestions of places to visit and assistance with travel, including to/from Brindisi airport with a very personable and friendly driver (to whom - kind regards). During my all too brief stay, I was very well looked after; nothing was too much trouble, no question too silly - and I am most grateful to them for indulging my wish to improve my Italian, thank you! PB is well situated for exploring Lecce old town and is also just 10mins walk from the train station, where you can get easily to Gallipoli (as I did) or Otranto, albeit on trains that have seen much service! The room was comfortable and clean, all linen and towels are made locally and PB also offers a range of locally-made products. On Alessandra's recommendation I availed myself of hand-cream, which will be a little piece of Puglia for my wife when I get back! My only regret was not to have had the time to taste wine with Andrea. Others have commented on this and I hope to return one day to improve my palate and learn more about the local wines. Nonetheless I appreciated his suggestions, some of which I was able to try at restaurants recommended to me. In short, a very pleasant stay and thoroughly to be recommended to travellers who like to meet their hosts personally and value a more intimate atmosphere. In bocca al lupo and warm regards!
Great location right on the piazza. Rooms were spacious, clean and modern. Franzi was a good host and very welcoming. Breakfast was basic but good, but ready to give an extra 30 minutes for it to arrive from the time you request😉.....would definitely recommend.
So Lecce is a beautiful small city which you can easily do in one day. We had 3 days so plenty of down time. So this hotel is in a beautiful location in Centro Storico. It’s principal is all about art and design which includes the very interesting back story of the family that own it. They are there each day to tell the story and genuinely want guests to be involved. This however becomes a bit of an issue after a while as you do feel like a bit of a visitor to their art installation rather than a paying guest. The rooms are very good. We had a duplex room which was a bit wasted as the tv lounge upstairs is not something we use. The room itself was well equipped although a bit short on shelving. Breakfast was quite fun first day as they bring selections of things. Run out of steam day 2 and 3. We signed up for a meal at the Palazzo they own in town. Absolutely stunning building with many stories. Regrettably the food didn’t live up to expectation. Particularly when we found out after it was £80 per head without drinks. Nowhere near good enough. Service, although amazingly friendly was a bit hit and miss in parts. If this was £350/£400 I would probably gone 4* but this was a staggering £650 per night at end of September. This is getting on for Amalfi Coast prices. I really enjoyed my time there but it’s £200 a night over priced.
Great base for a visit to Lecce in South Italy. The hotel is right in the centre, near the Roman ruins. It is very well run, staff very helpful and courteous, The rooms are huge! the beds are the Emperor size, one size up from super king. Bathroom are also very spacious.. Very good breakfast. The one slightly disappointing thing was the dinner at the hotel the first night. Not the best food in Italy ! However there is a amazing roof bar. One great advantage is the valet parking, it is impossible to park in Lecce so this is invaluable. The cost is 15 Euro per 24 Hours. We stayed 4 nights in this hotel in Lecce, it's a great base to visit L'Apuglia.
Polished concrete floors, white walls, large bathrooms, comfortable beds. Arco Vecchio is a B&B that feels like a hotel. Rooms are large, stylish and clean; we were very comfortable there. The receptionist, Paula, was brilliant: even offering to drive our bags across to our next hotel to save us from having to wheel them ourselves in the rain. Our next hotel, incidentally, was the Risorgimento Resort, a 5 star hotel we’d booked for our last couple of nights in Lecce. The breakfast at the RR was very much better than the Arco Vecchio’s but if we came back to Lecce we would definitely choose to stay in the Arco Vecchio again.
We were lucky enough to stay in the rooftop accommodation and it was so cute, clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The views from the top were great. Position is fantastic close to everything. Paulo was wonderful and helped where ever he could. Be aware though there are steep stairs and a lot of them to get to your room, the corridors are really tiny and it is a little bit of an effort with Luggage. However it is well worth it. Recommend to make this your accommodation in Lecce you will not be disappointed..Thank you Paulo !

This is the second time we've stayed at Santa Croce - we booked the same room because we loved it so much last time! We stayed in The Suite, which is very large and has a small balcony with french doors overlooking the square and the street - which is wonderful. The Suite is enormous, with a dressing area, huge bedroom, living room, kitchenette and spacious bathroom. It is beautifully clean and quiet and comfortable. The decor is sparse but stylish, with very modern architectural detailing and great lighting. There is plenty of storage if you are staying for more than a couple of days. We've never needed to use the kitchenette, as the fantastic central location means that you are surrounded by cafes and restaurants. The building is secure and easy to find, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We will be back!
We stayed in a superior room for 3 nights. We were welcomed by Valentina who is so sympathic and professional. She took us to our room on the first floor. The room was clean, beautiful, cosy with a small fridge and a coffee machine . the bathroom is very small but so beautiful. In the morning the breakfast served on the roof terrace was simply gorgeous: pastries, fresh bread, jams, coffee , everything you need. Carla who works at the breakfast and cleaned the room was more than perfect; always there to help. Thank you. We'll come back for sure
This amazing B&B has at its heart the owner, Mauro, who delights travellers with his warmth, his typically Italian Palazzo rooms and wonderful breakfasts. Every day I ate my breakfast - served in the room or choice to go to a bar - on my balcony overlooking the street next to the church. Always something to see - in the day and in the evening - people strolling, laughing, and cycling past. Such a wonderful atmosphere. At night the a/c was very effective, the bed very comfortable and after a hot shower, always plentiful water, I slept like a baby. Closing the windows and wooden doors out to the balcony ensured peace. Lecce is beautiful - I travelled to Gallipoli by train for a swim in the azure sea and a lovely lunch with vino. Yes, there are some little bits of plaster missing and paint - so if this matters to you .... I loved my little piece of heaven and as a solo female traveller I appreciated the safety, warmth and comfort of Palazzo Belli!
Just stayed here for 4 nights . The location is perfect , right in the heart of the historical centre . The rooms are very modern and clean with a great bathroom too. Really comfy bed and pillows . Breakfast is taken in a lovely little restaurant just around the corner where you can choose a delicious pastry to have with your coffee. Luca really couldn`t be more helpful with everything. He arranged a private transfer to and from Brindisi airport for me which was reasonable and reliable . He also arranged the most enjoyable 3 hour cookery class where I learned to make 3 different types of pasta and then got to eat it afterwards as well..... it was great fun and very informative . I will certainly stay here again when I visit Lecce .
We spent there just one night during a summer trip around Puglia. Very nice room, where we found everything we needed. Very close to the center of Lecce, just a few minutes walk to reach restaurants and old town buildings. The best memory of this short stay is for sure Francesco, very kind and friendly person who helped us find a parking spot for our rental car, he suggested us restaurants and places to visit, and welcomed us early in the morning with the typical pasticciotto dessert. Fantastic!
The location is near the train station and it is very convenient to go to the sights. The room was large and clean, and breakfast was good. Service attitude is also very good.
My wife and I spent a delightful week at Palazzo de Noha between 20 and 27 September 2019. As a boutique facility, you would expect exceptional personal service as an absolute minimum.....but Palazzo de Noha excels on so many levels....the facility is remarkable, the service is not just courteous, professional and friendly but it creates the feeling of a home away from home. The staff are remarkable....from the front desk where Guiseppie and Raffaella demonstrate a level of professional warmth and attention to detail that would exceed that expected in a 7 star facility. Nothing is a problem for the hosts...they provided excellent assistance with any needs....including dealing with the intricacies of regional Italian airlines and getting baggage from Lecce to Santorini! Importantly, our hosts - Guiseppie and Raffaella - nuture a customer focussed business culture that should be the global benchmark for boutique hotels....our hosts were clearly the soul, spirit and personality of Palazzo de Noha.....we will return.
We fell in love with this place, it was such a beautiful old palazzo. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor, and had so much space we kept losing each other! The furniture was all authentically old and lovely, the owner was very sweet and kind to my children, and I was sorry to only be staying one night. Would agree with what other reviewers have said about parking, we used the car park at Viale dell’Università / Piazzetta dei Saraceni which was only a short walk away. There are quite a few stairs up to the top floor apartment, and if you prefer sleek and modern appliances then this place will be wasted on you.
Nice hotel having a very good location in Lecce. We were travelling with a group of families and we were occupying most of the rooms during that week. Truly, everthing was nearly perfect, or we could really disregard certain weaknesses if we hadn’t received a rude e-mail from the owner after we left the hotel, asking 19 Euro payment for the small bottle of wine from the minibar and the broken door handle of the bathroom. We had already paid all the mini bar and breakfast extra charges without even asking a detailed breakdown for the content. We didn’t know if he had considered the bottle of wine or not. Although we found his e-mail quite strange, we wrote to him that we could for sure pay the wine charge which must have been forgotten but the door handle was already broken when we came. He didn’t accept and insisted that we pay 19 euro through an agressive e-mail. We are responsible travellers who are extensively travelling in the world both for business and leisure purposes. We have never received such a e-mail from a hotel before. Even if the door handle was found broken, the hotel must have had some provisions inside the room charge to cover damages up to certain amounts, like 9 Euros. In brief, i recommend you that you check the room ( like a rental car) before you get inside. The breakfast was mostly sweet breakfast with many cakes, desserts, sweet cereals and fruites. We would rather like to have bread and cheese seperately, rather than pre- toasted white bread which was the only option for salt breakfast.
Lovely B&B in a central location in Lecce. Clean room and bathroom, daily cleaning. In the booking was a misunderstanding about breakfast. The host Marco solved it and gave us free breakfast. Marco was helpful for it was our first time in Lecce. He told us about interesting things and nice places to eat. During the night sleeping with open window can be noisy, but with a good and silent airco it is no point. A good breakfast (sweet and savory) was served on the sunny roof terrace. During the day you can take place on the terrace for relaxing in the sun. The last day he brought us to the station, which was very kind. Thanks for staying with you Marco.
We loved our stay with Solange. Although she does not speak English, she has been so welcoming, keeping our room clean and bringing breakfast in the morning (v interesting Italian pastries). She has also been so helpful in helping us to find our way around the area and navigate to nearby beaches (particularly by bus, if you’re on a budget like us). Room is fine, air con is good and location is fab (nice area, 5 mins from Centre of town). Would recommend if you want an authentic Italian welcome from Solange and a nice room on a budget. ❤️
I highly recommend this beautiful hotel!!! This hotel was so so lovely. Perfect location, right above the main square and directly in the middle of Lecce. The room was beautiful, amazing high ceilings with huge doors onto a balcony. We stayed here two nights but it was so luxurious we would love to stay longer! Check in was easy, and the owner was extremely accommodating. We suggest you call ahead of time to make sure someone is there to let you in, although we didn’t do this - the owner gave us a code so we could enter and settle straight away. Little cakes and coffee when we arrived were lovely! All water was free which is very nice and uncommon. Very very very clean room!!
Very nice and welcoming staff Clean and elegant room and furniture simple and adequate breakfast.....the place is right at the center. If you hve a car you need to park it at the close neighborhood and make sure to pay for the parking and to be at the blue areas
Very soon after booking I received a number of helpful emails from the property, to allow me to feel welcome and at home before I got there. This was continued at reception: helpful, friendly and honest. The place was clean and tidy (at least, before I arrived). A lifesaver for a backpacker without wheels passing through Lecce - and indeed Salento as a whole - the only real hostel there is. It is walkable within half an hour of the centre and the train station, and not hard to find once you've got your bearings, but arriving in the dark for the first time I paid through the nose for a taxi, and it was a bit of a bind traipsing back and forth on foot. They do rent bikes: that's one way to aid mobility; though more of a hindrance in the pedestrian old town. The somewhat backwater location doesn't help for business - certainly pretty dead in January - but this excellently run place definitely deserves more recognition and trade.
