Its my first stay at Holiday Inn JBCC. I love the cleanliness of the hotel room the bed is so comfy! Breakfast was alright but maybe more protein based items will be great. Below is KOMTAR JBCC. Its so convenient for food and shopping. Should increase water pressure for hose bidet in toilet.

Frequently attended by Mr Hazim each time we came to check in into our accommodation. Hazim has always been well-mannered and attentive to his client's request. Well-appointed rooms were given as per our request. This hotel has been our go-to bcos of its strategic location! The doorman uncle is always ready to greet visitors with a smile by the hotel entrance door on all our trips since 2022. Rooms are spacious, and the washroom is clean, house keeping did a good job. Highly recommend this place

Pros - inviting lobby, good location, staff polite and helpful, good that hotel provide a water dispensing machine, Cons - not sound proof, fair bit of noise from traffic at night, yrllow stain on bedsheet, tiny ants on bed, bedside table showing cup stains and sticky, shower head seems spoilt as the water was dripping down instead of spray like and out, making us stand superb close to the wall to be able to get the water, shower handle spoilt; came off while adjusting the water temperatuee, no tissue paper Overall, small hotel, very basic. Whilst I hv no issues with providing my own tissue paper boxes, shampoo or toothbrush n other stuff, felt that Cleanliness shd not be compromised no matter how.

This is the most disgusting hotel I've stayed! Such a waste since the location is perfect. Minutes away from shopping malls, custom and immigration and the night market. Have a stunning view of the causeway and Singapore especially in the evening. Back to the hotel. We arrived late after a long day. Staying just for a night. When we reached the lobby, we were greeted by the receptionist with a smile but at the same time I noticed something is not right. The lobby were unorganised, looks old and smelly. But we'll, I have a very low expectations on this hotel with the room rate that I paid. Never mind, I just want a good rest. Check in process is pretty fast, about less than 5 minutes since everything is prepaid. This time again I felt something is not quite ordinary when the receptionist hand me the air-con remote control. Went to the lift which is next to the reception counter. The area is just like an old shopping mall lift, nothing like hotels lift landing. However the came pretty fast. Once enter the lift, I was so so suprise to see how dirty it was. The real nightmare began when we reach our floor which is on the 14th floor. The carpet along the corridor is supposed to be red in color but it's turn black because of too dirty and no maintainance. It's really disgusting these kind of conditions in the hotel vicinity! It's super super dirty and I don't even know the appropriate words to describe. Walk all the way to my room and I saw 1 major safety issue that the management failed to see. The window and the end on the corridor is widely open! Just imagine if children playing and climb on the window, the resulting be catastrophic! This is truly a super massive issue!!! Enter the room, the size is big with 1 king size and 1 single bed BUT, the condition is even worse than those super cheap B&B!!! Just take a look at the photo attached. It is super disgusting!!!! 1. The trash bin the washroom filled with water and rubbish!!! The floor is dirty with stain everywhere!!! 2. The stain in the bedroom is out of this world, I can't even describe how dirty it is. Let the photo speak for itself. I don't even dare to take off my shoe. 3. The sofa is suitable to be thrown away. 4. The mattress is as hard as brick!! Same goes to the pillow. I don't 100% blame the staff for this condition but rather the management fault. They failed to manage the property properly. I am very sure if Malaysia Hotel association, building safety inspector and ministry of health making a suprise inspection, this building will fail in all areas. My suggestion is, if the management felt that they unable to maintain this hotel, I think it is better to rent/lease or even sell the property to any proper hotel chain.

Really have to manage expectations because you pay for what you get even though location is superb. Not the best for a memorable stay but works alright for a last minute shelter or place to stay the night. Room door has quite a big gap below meaning noise and light from outside leaks through easily. Toilet was not cleaned properly but at least had good warm water for showering. No hair dryers as well, so warning to the ladies. However, service by counter personnel was good and were helpful in taking care of our luggage even after we checked out to go explore. Overall, will not recommend unless there is really no other options.

Room: Clean room and bathroom. Shower area was spacious but could do with a little more hooks. Toilet seat was clean but can see that it's old. Breakfast: Decent spread with a live egg cooking section. Just nice there was a saxophonist playing music on Sunday morning. On Saturday morning, there was a balloon artist making simple balloon sculpture for kids. Amenities: Gym looks decent. There is a pool too but we did not manage to enjoy those. Location: Very convenient, above Zenith Mall, i.e. opposite JBCC, and hence very near to JB City Square and Customs. Can go to Haidilao in Zenith Mall for supper too 😋 Service: Check-in was relatively quick. Staff at check-in counter was friendly. The staff and guard outside the breakfast place were friendly too. The housekeeper was friendly too.

The location where the car arrived was at the entrance of the hotel. After going in and checking, it turned out that it was not the correct place. You need to enter at a nearby door and go to the mailbox to get your room card. What I didn't notice is that there are no sanitary products in the suite. The room environment is consistent with the booking introduction, and overall I am satisfied.

Highly recommend. I have a high standard of cleanliness and this suite easily passed the mark. I walked on barefoot and no stain! It’s even cleaner than a 5-star hotel. Pillow, bedsheet are all clean. It’s a serviced apartment type and so no meal is provided but city square is within 5 minutes.

Had a one night stay over the weekends, everything was good until I realised I got bed bug bites all over when I left the hotel. The room we stayed in was 2802 but I didn’t manage to capture any photo evidence of bed bugs as I have already checked out when the itch got worse and I saw all the bug bites on my arms and leg. I’ve stayed at Capri many times but it’s the first time I experienced this. Went to the doctor and confirmed I had bed bug bites. Contacted the hotel through trip.com but the hotel staff said they didn’t find any bed bugs. Hope they can thoroughly check again to prevent this from happening to other guests. Photos of my bed bug bites when Im back in SG.

The Hotel Staff were friendly and helpful. As per my advance request - they arranged 2 rooms next to one another for me which I really appreicates. Tasek Central mall is within walking distance. There is a TGV Cinema in Tasek Central Mall. By car, sutera mall is just about 10mins drive away. The Square Hotel's cleanliness has always been consistent (I have stayed with them previously). The hotel even provide complimentary biscuits, coffee and water at the hotel lobby. Will defintely return to stay with them if I need a 1 night acccommodation. I went to Sky Beyond Restoran (aka Kopitiam) for breakfast the next morning and tried the ”Ke Jia Pan Mian” it is full of flavour and good.

First time booking this hotel as we wanted to visit my sister who was doing her confinement at the hotel's west wing side. The staff are friendly and always ready to answer and help out with your queries/requests. The room was clean, odourless and very comfortable. The hot shower is a bonus point as the temperature is consistent. Basic amenities like cotton buds, toothbrush and toothpaste are provided. My room view was scenic and there were lots of greeneries. We got to explore Eco Botanic, a newly developed enclave where there were plenty of cafes, restaurants and lots of shopping to consider doing there, too. Breakfast was good! The international buffet style has a wide spread of local dedicacies. We love the nasi lemak and you can serve with the generous serving of chicken rendang and squid sambal. They were plenty of fruit selection like dragon fruit and honey melons. We will come back again!

The hotel is located at one end of the Sutera Mall area. However, it is nearer to the few karaoke places and massage area that we like to visit. Less noisy compare to the other hotels. Is good for family of four. Although this round we went, we found ants on the floor. Hope the hotel can do proper cleaning.

It was about ５ minutes walk from JB Central, but I was lost and asked various people. The woman of the hotel staff was kind and the room was double without windows, but the shower was clean and the amenities were all in place and there was no shortage. The hot water was also saved. the location of the hotel is not bad. there's food nearby and its away from the busy city so its more peaceful. the check-in instructions given was clear. however, i guess the room has been quite some time since someone checked in cause the bathroom had spiderwebs and some areas were dusty and the utensils they provided was dusty as well. there were only knifes, no fork and spoon. but the oven and fridge are working well. best part about the stay was that the tv has netflix. and i like the simple concept of the house. would come back to stay again.

We stayed at this hotel for a quick transit before going out to Legoland. The family room is looks new, modern furnished, and spacious enough for our family of 5 (2 adult, 3 children). It is quite far from the JB city center, but really close to Legoland (5-10 min taxi ride) and also the SG-JB 2nd Link. There are some supermarket arround the hotel and for breakfast, a delicious Nasi Lemak is just arround the corner. Very recommended hotel.

I would have given it another star had the walls been thicker. The room was clean and decent. It’s good for a solo traveller to rest for a night or two. However the walls are thin. Hence I was rudely awaken when the phone in the neighbouring room rang at 3am! I have taken off another star because they charge RM20 per hour for early check-in. The check-in time was 2pm. My room was ready at 12noon but the receptionist insisted that I pay extra RM40 for the 2 hours. I find this ridiculous!

Fives Hotel Meldrum is a newly opened property in October 2023. It is 850m by walk from Johor Bahru Customs. To get to the hotel, you would need to use the link bridge near the customs that leads to R&F Mall. Just before reaching the mall, head down from the bridge and walk towards the direction of Grand Blue Wave Hotel (GBW). The property is located beside the back of GBW. A 24hrs security personnel is stationed at the main entrance of the hotel. Upon my arrival, the Front Desk Staff had requested a RM200 deposit for my check in registration. The rooms are situated from the first to ten floors. There is no fourth level in this building. I was accommodated in a Standard Queen Room (No. 311). Although the room offers a window, it faces the wall of a building. There is an ongoing construction site located beside the hotel, which I perceived to last for another year or more. Unfortunately, the construction noise is audible which only ended at 10pm during my weekday stay. I later approached the Night Manager and paid a RM40 upgrade to stay in a Standard King Room with no window (No. 308). There is no noise as this room is located in the middle section of the building. Local, Singapore TV and Malaysian radio station channels are available for entertainment in the room. The SMART TV also offers Netflix and YouTube. There are two USB charging ports and three power sockets for your mobile device charging needs. The air-conditioner functions well and keeps the room cool. Shower gel, shampoo with conditioner, toothbrush and paste are provided. The shower head is fixed to the bathroom wall. I found the water pressure to be acceptable, but the temperature is lukewarm. A-lar carte breakfast is offered at RM25 per person, though I did not consume my breakfast at the property. Nearby the hotel, there are several coffeeshops located behind a public carpark that serve breakfast. Among them is Restoran Ah Bee Bak Kut Teh (Pork Ribs Soup) which is a popular eatery among the locals. There are also convenience stores and halal eateries located within walking distance from the hotel. Connoisseur Food Generation, a trendy food court is situated a 5-min walk from the hotel. This place has many food stalls that offer a wide variety of cuisine. There is also live band during my dining there. Whilst the location may not be perfect, Fives Hotel Meldrum is great for those who are seeking something new and an affordable stay in Johor Bahru.

If you consider as Malaysia, and lower your expectation, this is a near perfect place to stay. I booked at 2 nights for SGD 126, it is an absolute steal. Just across the road is Mall of Medini, where it is connected to Legoland at the other end of the mall. Supermarket, fastfood, chicken rice shop is located in the mall. Just below the block on the left is an indian grocery stall, and a 7-11, and Gleneagles is just at the other side from Mall of Medini. Food are easily accessible in the area during daytime. There is a park, interconnecting other building in the development on G floor. Swimming pool on highest floor at level 22, with a gym. Bath tub is relatively clean, aircon is good, cleanliness is acceptable, only the washing machine was faulty, everything else required is working well. There were 2 toilets, sufficient for all of us, and we were given 4 towels, also with shampoo and shower gel, but take note there is not toothbrush and toothpaste provided. Aircon is cold, wifi is provided upon request, security guard at lobby, this place is recommended. The unit is spacious, my son tried to balance bike ard the house.

I travel for business, because I have training at JPFSA, so this is the most decent hotel in the area. This is a small town not far from Johor Bahru, the capital state. Easy to get Grab Service and a lot of eating place. There a bar and restaurant next to the hotel, Japanese Restaurant Opposite & Bakery opposite the hotel. Room is spacious, bright lighting and decent decoration, there no wardrobe. It's ok for 1 or 2 nights. Quite safe for woman traveller. Breakfast can be better. They only serve coffee/tea with sandwiches and noodles/fried rice. Please dont set high expectation for breakfast. This area mostly office area for freight forwarders and other small businesses.

Walk all the way to my room and I saw 1 major safety issue that the management failed to see. The window and the end on the corridor is widely open! Just imagine if children playing and climb on the window, the resulting be catastrophic! This is truly a super massive issue!!! Enter the room, the size is big with 1 king size and 1 single bed BUT, the condition is even worse than those super cheap B&B!!! Just take a look at the photo attached. It is super disgusting!!!! 1. The trash bin the washroom filled with water and rubbish!!! The floor is dirty with stain everywhere!!! 2. The stain in the bedroom is out of this world, I can't even describe how dirty it is. Let the photo speak for itself. I don't even dare to take off my shoe. 3. The sofa is suitable to be thrown away. 4. The mattress is as hard as brick!! Same goes to the pillow. I don't 100% blame the staff for this condition but rather the management fault. They failed to manage the property properly. I am very sure if Malaysia Hotel association, building safety inspector and ministry of health making a suprise inspection, this building will fail in all areas. My suggestion is, if the management felt that they unable to maintain this hotel, I think it is better to rent/lease or even sell the property to any proper hotel chain.
