Given that the price of this hotel was about 50% more than what hotels in Tokyo or Sapporo charged I was totally disappointed in this place. The best thing about it is that it is in walking distance to the Urawa Train Station. However, the hotel and the room was in a desperate need of an update. We had a twin room that looked straight out of the 60‘s or early 70‘s with built in wooden furniture. The bathroom was the tiniest one we have had in Japan and, again, it looked dated. They have an antiquated heating and cooling system. So, if they decide to switch the hotel to heat or cold that is all you can get in your room, no matter what the actual outside temperature is. All you can do is control the fan speed. We were there on a warm, early December day and the tiny room was very stuffy. Luckily we could open a window which made the situation a bit more tolerable. Bedding was very average and the same was true for sleeping comfort. The towels were very thin and looked old. They did offer a free (mostly Japanese) breakfast, which was suprisingly good. Undortunately there was no English description in the food items so one had to try them out to find out was actuall served. Staff was friendly and fairly efficient. Overall, I would recommend another place until Urawa Hotel is renovated.

Nice, comfortable hotel with fantastic service. I stayed here a few days as part of a group during a business trip. Usually with somewhat-extended stays, menu fatigue is a problem at breakfast... but not here. The breakfast buffet's variety is well above average and offers delicious staples from both Western and Japanese cuisines at a very competitive price. The rooms are a bit outdated, but extremely well cared-for. Even though the penthouse piano bar and the banquet halls in the lower floors are usually pretty busy, the rooms and hallways are perfectly peaceful all of the time. The front desk was very helpful and accommodating to my group's sudden changes of plans. Some of the staff struggle a bit with English, but everyone's always friendly and willing to help. I had a view of Mt. Fuji from my room, which was a nice little bonus. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to people traveling for business to the Urawa-Saitama area.

Rafre Saitama proved to be a great location for my recent trip to Tokyo & the surrounding area. The room was clean, neat & quite reasonably sized for a Japanese hotel room (for those unfamiliar Japanese hotel rooms are smaller than American hotel rooms). From Rafre Saitama, it was a 7 minute walk via covered walkways to the train station, restaurants & shopping. The staff of the hotel was tremendously helpful and multi-lingual, a great bonus since my Japanese is poor at best. Contained within the hotel are 3 restaurants, a full fitness center including pool and walking track that is available to guests for a slight daily fee & a Lawson's convenience store that is fully stocked. I would recommend Rafre Saitama without hesitation.

This hotel just 5 mins walk to JR Shintoshin station and famous Cocoon 1-3 shopping mall just nearby. Guest room is well designed and clean. Enough space to place two 29” luggage and unfold. Breakfast buffet is very good with good service and variety of choices. This hotel is absolutely provide JAPAN quality service, makes you feel 100% worth to stay in.

Location: 6mins from Saitama-shintoshin station. Opposite to Coccon City Mall Rooms: very functional. Loved the note on the bed stating that suitcases can be placed under the bed. Bathroom: typical Japanese style. No frills Breakfast: Japanese styled food. There is a vending machine for water and other drinks. Lawsons Dept store is next door. Overall: loved it. Great for short stays.

We stayed at this hotel during the end of the year holiday season. Chose this hotel because of its proximity to the station as well as to Nikko & Yuzawa region which we were visiting. It is an easy 5min walk from the station and with out luggage, we just walk through Sogo department store using the escalator or lift exiting from the back end of the building. Across the road is Bic Camera and the hotel is just beside it. The room feels very spacious probably because there is no wardrobe and instead there’s a long sitting area along the window. The bed is big and very comfortable. The only down side is that we can’t find any in-room safe. The sky spa is lovely too. Our room also has a wonderful view of Mount Fuji, if not you can see it from the reception area.

We went to Omiya to visit the Omiya Bonsai Museum and renowned bonsai farms. I would have given the hotel another star, but the front desk service was much to be desired. When we checked in on July 13, felt like the gentleman thought he was doing us a favor. No greeting, no smile. Unusual for Japan hotels. AND, don't lose your key! The same gentleman charge us 1,500Y for a replacement. HOWEVER, the Housekeeping was 5 stars. We stayed there for 4 nights and everyday, the room was immaculate and made up on time. We loved the pump bottle liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner. The hotel was very convenient to the Omiya Station (3 minute walk). The train will take you to Omiya Koen or Tobu Station in 5-10 minutes to bonsai heaven. We had a Corner Double Room (#812), the view was great. Hotel is right across the street from SOGO Department store. 13 floors of shopping which includes 1 floor of restaurants! Great food! As for the breakfast, it was good, not great, and not worth $35USD. If we go again, would look at other hotels.

I live on the first floor. It is safe to use the security window, but there is no door seam. I can't use the door stopper. I can buy the door and window alarm without glue, and it will not affect the door frame. You can receive the courier, but you have to speak in advance. The boss is Chinese and easy to communicate. If you want to go to the Saitama Super Arena, it is really convenient and cost-effective. You only need one stop to Saitama Shinto, one-way 15-20 minutes, and Omiya Station. Surrounded by residential areas, parking lots and customs shops, the environment is quiet for a few days and the safety is completely OK. The sound insulation of the room is poor, and the sound of the voice next door is fully heard, so if you live, you should pay attention to it. Because it is the first floor, the bed and toilet in the room where I live are one-headed, and the sound of running water is louder. Mindful friends can pay attention. Since it is a nature of the property, it is necessary to do a simple garbage sorting, and the door should be replaced with indoor slippers. Slippers are not a one-off, I suggest you bring them. There is an elevator in the room, even if you live on the second and third floor luggage, there is no problem at all, but the stairs are a bit steep, so pay attention to the top and bottom.
