Hotel Excelsior is a welcoming, comfortable home away from home. Our room (family room) was very spacious with a huge bathroom, plenty of storage space and a big balcony where we could sit comfortably and hope that Matterhorn will peek from behind the clouds (which it did). Their breakfast buffet was simple but delicious and the hotel restaurant is definitely worth a visit (or two), they do a lovely meat fondue. Their staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. All these things combined made our stay in Zermatt unforgettable. (The mountains also helped, of course :-))

Couldn’t have been more impressed with this place. Went to Zermatt on a whim and was lucky enough to stay here. The staff was incredibly kind and above and beyond with accommodations. The rooms are spacious and well designed. The bed was super comfortable. The views of the Mountian are amazing. The lodge is centrally located and just a short walk to the village and Harry’s Bar. You can easily walk to the gondola or the bus stop. This is hands down my first option for lodging and I won’t come back to Zermatt unless I can stay here.

We just came back from our first Switzerland ski trip. This hotel is centrally situated on the bus route. A 5-min walk to bus if you want to go to Matterhorn side, and 10-15 min walk to the cog rail/lift if you want ski Rothorn. Also it is a 5-10 min walk to the center of the village and the train station. We love the location because it is close to everything but quiet at night. Rooms are clean and new. Breakfast buffet is awesome! You have to try the restaurant in the first floor. Their “flame” cooking in front of you is really a cool experience. They have a lot of chocolate for their guests as well - decent Swiss chocolate! The wellness center which has jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna which is a must-go after a long day ski. If we ever go back to Zermatt, we will definitely stay at this hotel again. We left our luggage at the hotel on the day of leaving, and my husband was still skiing one hour before the train departed. That sounded crazy but the ski rental store (Matterhorn Sports) right across the hotel was so efficient and made this happen.

The overall quality of Swiss hotels is really high, with details in place everywhere. The same is true of this hotel. The handsome guy at the front desk is really super enthusiastic. He will say hello every time he meets, and explain how to play the Matterhorn route when he checks in. The breakfast husband said that it was the fullest day in Europe. There are boiled eggs and fried eggs. Fried eggs are not salty and rare, and there are small cakes. This salmon is super fresh and has a lot of fruit. The best thing is that the juice is freshly squeezed, squeezed by yourself, and there is a special machine for pressing fruits. The room was clean, the bed was large and comfortable. The balcony is also nice and you can see the street view. By the way, there are minibars in the room, all of them are free. This is awesome. There are beer and various drinks in it. Seems like 6 bottles. The coffee in the coffee machine is also very good, but I didn't drink it. The hotel has a free mini bus, the front desk said it would take us, but it was useless and I wanted to go around by myself. Very pleasant stay, recommend everyone. The price is not cheap or expensive, around 1500 a night.

This hotel is the best one in my 12-day trip in Switzerland. The details of the hotel are very good. The minibar in the room is free, there is beer bubble water, etc. The room is large and can be used for extra beds. There are some hot foods outside, which are included in the room rate. It is a very careful hotel. There are many things to send, chocolate, special drinks, sweets, etc. Many details can reflect that this is a high-powered hotel, although the hotel is Half-mountain, but it does not affect travel at all. There is a hotel bus transfer to and from the train station, and the hotel has a direct elevator to the foot of the mountain. The elevator is the entrance to the rothorn, very good!

Fleurs De Zermatt is a very nice hotel with very high tech and mountain motiff rooms. Plenty of storage and lighting was motion activated. Great bathrooms with heated floor and large bathtub. Bath robes too...comfy beds and wonderful buffet breakfast each day. This hotel is very quiet and close to train station - but far enough away so it was very quiet...staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel is CLEAN! No drinks or food except water and an espresso maker in the room. We liked that unique rule, the rooms are very clean and finishes very nice. Hotel not over crowded, perfect for couples...not a lot of kids which was very nice. Booked through our great travel agent, Vapiano Travel...check them out.

There are certainly things to like about Hotel La Ginabelle. And as always I’ll start with the good. THE GOOD 1) LOVE the outdoor heated pool, the steam room and the hot jacuzzi tub, especially after a day out in the cold. 2) Hotel is family run, owners are friendly and very hands-on with running the ground operations from front end to kitchen. 3) Food was AMAZINGLY good and that surprises me coming from a small family run hotel. 4) Location is convenient. Literally right next to ski bus stop and walking distance to Zermatt train station / town center. The BAD 1) The apartment looks really old and dated. The carpets look dirty and the cupboards don’t close properly. 2) Bed was too hard and pillow was too soft. They should give 2 pillows each instead of 1, given the pillows really flatten out to nothing when you lay on them. 3) Heaters in room don’t really work and hot water was limited. 4) Hair dryer in the apartment sounded as old as the room and was a torture to use. At full strength, it hardly blows and took me 15mins to dry my hair. 5) Response time was slow slow slow. We had a blackout in the room on the 2nd day. I called the front desk twice and took them 25 minutes before someone came up to fix the power blackout. We sat in the dark for 25 mins waiting for someone to come in our swimwear. 6) The hotel should at least provide complimentary drinking water for the first night for guests, but they don’t. So if you don’t want to pay for hotel water which probably cost twice as much, best to buy some from Coop first before checking in. 7) Spa and pool facilities at this hotel are open to non-hotel guests at a price. So as a staying hotel guest, I will have to share the hotel facilities with the public. Not a big deal if the pool is not crowded but imagine if the hotel is full (during peak season) and the pool is filled with both hotel guests and public, that won’t be too enjoyable. Hopefully the hotel management can work on improving the value add to their guests.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Matthiol in 2015, and returned this February for our second stay. The hotel is under new ownership, and they went from 22 rooms to 33 rooms. We loved this hotel because of it's ski in/ski out access, and since it's at the top of the town, it is quiet and peaceful and employed top notch staff. The staff has changed quite a lot. Although the young staffers were friendly, Hotel Matthiol used to employ people from the top European hospitality schools, now the staff seems more like young kids taking a break from college to work in a ski town, who lacked deep knowledge of the area and services. The service has declined in quality, and the front desk is understaffed. They would benefit from a concierge, with knowledge of the area and local services, especially have two people during peak periods of check out, getting out in the morning etc. The rooms have been remodeled and are much smaller than before. In some, they have squeezed in a private sauna, which is a lovely amenity, however, finding a place to put winter luggage and ski gear was challenging. The fans cycle on constantly in the bathroom, which is bothersome in the middle of the night when you're trying to sleep. The ski room is no longer heated, nor do they still have boot dryers. which is an important and desirable amenity for skiers! The hotel does not have shuttle service, and the bus does not run late, so you if you have dinner in town, you will be relegated to either walk back or take an expensive taxi back. We didn't find this to be an issue, and since you can ski in and out, you are not subject to waiting for a bus with space at the bottom of the hill when returning from skiing. We dined at the restaurant for dinner twice, mainly because we didn't feel like going into town. The food was good, the restaurant is lovely, but they were short on wait staff. The main waiter, was running around to all the tables, practically sweating he was running so much. This type of service, although with good intention, is not what I would expect for an pricey sit down atmosphere. We do hope some of the rough spots in the hotel are smoothed so we would consider returning again.

Great location, room was clean with a very small bathroom (standard double, view of main street and a bit of mountain), staff was super friendly, and breakfast selection was REALLY good with an assortment of meat, cheese, champagne, there's juicer if you want to make some fresh juices, and they take orders for eggs and coffee. The only complain I have is the wifi. At $541 CHF for 2 nights, I expected their wifi to be at least usable for basic browsing when I have some down time at night. It was disappointingly slow. To the point where I ended up using hotspot from my phone so I can browse on my laptop. I did point this out to the staff after my first night and I was told they will look into it to make sure there's no issue. The wifi was still an issue on my second night. I believe it's an issue with signal reaching? I was in room 311 if I remember correctly. It was not a huge issue for me as I was only there for 2 nights. However, at a premium rate they should look into upgrading their wifi.

As you may know, you don't go to Zermatt to spend little money. This is a high price destination that worth every penny. So if you want to find a very good and much cheaper option, Hotel Rhodania is the place to go. You obviously don't have to expect any luxury frills and furbelows - because even if it might still seem expensive to you, the place is really a bargain for Zermatt. Great location, wonderful views of the Matterhorn if you choose the rooms with Matterhorn view, spacy and clean rooms, but simple. WLAN is not always working and breakfast could have some more variations but is nice.

My husband and I stayed April 29-March 8th. It has been one of the best experiences of our lives! We bought a 3 out of 5 day ski pass and used them all within the first 4 days. The views are incredible and life changing. We stayed at the hotel Albana Real and were beyond satisfied. This hotel is very clean, much like Zermatt itself. We had an incredible view of the Matterhorn which made waking up everyday SO easy. Alex, who works the front desk, had no hesitation checking us in easily, he stored our skis in the ski room and explained everything the hotel had to offer. He gave us a tour of our suite and made sure we were comfortable with our stay. It was reassuring to see him in the lobby when we had “tourist” questions about how to catch the bus to the lifts (several times haha) and were to go around town for drinks, food etc. This hotel is just a short walk to downtown and very close to bus stops, which take you to the ski lifts and down town as well. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel and about Zermatt. A truly magical, wonderful place. 😍

Stayed as a group of 12 friends, including children 13+. Half term week February 2020. Half board. I don't leave many reviews but Hemizeus deserves the effort because I cannot fault the hotel in any way. I loved it. They have their own shuttles (x2) to/from the station. The food was excellent and varied; the restaurant/bar is lovely. The room I had, had been recently refurbished and was very comfortable. Breakfast every morning looking up at the Matterhorn. It is genuinely ski-in ski-out if you like. Or it is easily walkable to the nearest gondola which runs up to Furi and on towards the glacier ski area and where there is a ski rental where you can leave your skis. (There is also the red line bus but tends to be full at peak time). There is a lovely spa. The staff are efficient and equally important they are also very, very friendly and helpful. Very special thanks to Amelia in the restaurant / bar who looked after us so very well. We all had a fantastic week's skiing, so thank you again.

The hotel is in a good location, opposite the train station, and there is a red line in the town and a green line bus. The hotel belongs to the self-service hostel hostel, which has a large kitchen and dining room. The kitchen utensils are very complete, and the pots and pans are connected to the rice cooker. Because Swiss prices are really expensive, we are all eating food in the kitchen by COOP. Many of the guests who have stayed here for a few days are buying ingredients in a box and affixing their names. I really like this kind of hostel. Friends from all corners of the country gather here to be self-sufficient. Use the endless ingredients to stay there for the people you need.

Hotel is very conveniently located, just about 150 meters from the Zermatt train station, and the Gornegrat station. It is right on the main street, close to ***y shops and restaurants. Coop supermarket is available in the mall opposite the train station. Room size is not large, but adequate, and beds are quite comfortable. Amenities like toothbrush, toothpaste and water flask are not provided, but slippers and mineral waters are available. Restaurant at the ground floor is quite well decorated. Breakfast has adequate varieties, but should not expect the same as the hotels in mainland China. Had to transfer unexpectedly from Sunstar Saas Fee to Zermatt. While I am grateful for the transfer they arranged, I must say there seems to be big differences between Sunstar properties. The location in Zermatt is very convenient. Short walk to town or to Sunnega lift station, and there’s a bus stop just outside the ski room to get to the Matterhorn lifts. The ski room is fine but does not have individual storage for guests. The restaurant was only open for breakfast. The buffet was fine, though a notch down from the one in Saas Fee in terms of offering. I did find the room quite small and rather interesting configuration. Obviously, the sight in Zermatt is Matterhorn. The bed is arranged so you get a direct view of the Matterhorn. This results in decent amount of “dead space” in the room that is small to begin with. The shower and the sink are in the room, so if you are used to having bathroom privacy… In my friends’ room the toilet was right behind the headboard of the bed. Apparently not lot of noise insulation. I would note I woke up both mornings earlier than planned when the next-door room turned on the shower. As a single traveler the room was fine for few nights. I would think that two people with all the ski gear it may start feeling quite tight. I have stayed at numerous other four-star properties in Zermatt over the years. I just don’t think Sunstar measures up.

The host and her husband could not make you feel more welcome. Very friendly and happy to answer any questions. Hotel Simi is in a great location, maybe a 5 minutes walk from the train and right along all the restaurants and shops in Zermatt. This is very helpful being able to walk around the whole city since there is no car transportation. The rooms are cozy and the bathrooms are spacious. The front lobby has a relaxing fireplace and couch area to hang out. Breakfast was filling with plenty to pick from. And pack your swimsuit because the spa is great. The best location I found after staying. 20 meters to the Japanese Bridge. From the Japanese bridge, you can aim for the best shot of the Matterhorn. The hotel is right in front of the cemetery, but there is no darkness in the cemetery. The church, Kirchplatz and the Marmot fountain are also nearby. In the square, the horn performance starts at 6pm. I also encountered a procession of goats. It is about 10 minutes on foot from the station. Opposite the diagonal is the Zermatterhof, a 5-star hotel, and there is a two-carriage transfer to the station. The transfer here is 5 euros per person, but it is not necessary if the luggage is not too big. The inn is very clean with bedding. I was able to sleep well. The apartment facilities are a bit old, all self-service, no waiters. There are simple kitchen utensils, you can make some simple meals yourself.

The hotel where Princess Sissi lived was very historical and liked. Breakfast is not bad. It took 250 Swiss francs to upgrade the suite facing the Grand Fountain, which is beautiful! Ctrip has been pitted! It is said that two adults with two children can not live in a room! I have fixed two rooms! When I arrived at the hotel, people said that there was no such thing! Originally it would cost 400 Swiss francs to upgrade the room type, the hotel only received 250... The other room did not stay at all! But the hotel said it has been charged by Ctrip! The hotel is beautiful! Ctrip is very pit!

This hotel is really invincible! Excellent view ~ can also see the big fountain ~ even with five-star hotels such as Hilton, she is considered to be the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed abroad ~ very close to the central railway station, there are many buses nearby Very convenient ~ there are many convenience stores, really the first choice! I will stay here again next time in Geneva! PS room door key is also very cute ~ breakfast on the 8th floor, the view is also very good, the variety is also very rich ~ service is very good ~

The hotel is diagonally opposite the train station. There is a large supermarket MIGROS in the train station. The best thing is to open from 5:30 in the morning to 11:30 in the evening. It is just that the hotel has not ordered breakfast. It is solved here, what bread milk Vegetable salads are readily available. There is a Beijing-style Chinese restaurant on the side of the hotel. The amount of noodles is not bad. It is expensive. There is a bowl of 20CHF. When I go out at night, I found that there are several restaurants behind the hotel, and there are several Chinese and Asian meals. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the lake and you can see the night scene at night.

Hotel breakfast is relatively simple but can also eat a good environment. Open the window and see the 145-meter-high Grand Fountain Hotel. Give a Geneva one-day public transport ticket and walk from Geneve Station for 10 minutes (with luggage). If there is no baggage, it will take five minutes. feel
