Essie is the best at the front desk along with the rest of the staff and I just love how management treats their employees along with us guests! Any problems we had with our rates or explaining what discounts we might have, Management was very informative and helpful with explaining them to us to get the best out of our stay! OUR STAY WAS VERY UNPLEASANT. TRIED to book a late arrival it took four unsuccessful tries before I could speak to the hotel. My accommodations upon entering the room felt like a Sauna, and the non-smoking room smelled like cigarette smoke. No amenities as promised. If you needed clean towels you have to take your dirty towels to front desk to get clean ones. Woke up in the middle of the night with the ceiling leaking over my bed at 11:30 pm, was told from front desk personnel this has happened before. The process of moving to the replacement room was very uncomfortable: Had to go down to lobby to pick up the replacement room key. Was told that we had to pack up and be out of the original room in 20 minutes so the ceiling could be checked. Had to pack very quickly and take our belongings to the replacement on the other side of the hotel. With no assistance from management. Arriving at the replacement room we found the door was left open and dirty towels were in the bathroom. The Baymont by Wyndham in Madison Heights, Michigan is not a hotel I would recommend to anyone.

On 6-28,2019 we arrived for check in finding there was no power(and the entire block). The staff helped check us in and gave their best ETA for returned power. This was wonderful. No problem for us. However other people checking in were extremely rude and confronted the staff angrily. The staff kept their cool and offered to help the best they were able. I was embarrassed by how rude the other patrons were to people who had little control over the situation. The entire staff deserve raises!!!! Thank you for a wonderful stay. Marsha

Closer to the company, still a distance from downtown. The hotel facilities are outdated and there are fewer types of breakfast, but the attitude of the service staff is very good and very enthusiastic. Recommended!

Staying at a hotel in COVID-19 times is a little interesting. Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Detroit Troy doesn’t miss a beat. To be fair there isn’t normal staff. Actually lately nothing is normal but Marriott properties seem to be surviving. I was in for a quick overnight in Detroit but I needed a hotel around the Detroit Zoo is so I stayed at the Troy location. Every time I am in a new city I seek out the Marriott properties so I know what I am getting into. This location is 4 years old and décor matches some in CT and Albany, NY I have stayed at. The traffic is one way out from so it is a little tricky getting in. If you go out and come back and make sure you pay attention to traffic patterns. The hotel is following all the CDC guidelines and the largest thing I noticed is how spotless everything was. Masks are required in the lobby area in an around the hotel also. I asked the clerk if it was a new property and she said now. I got my keys and headed up to room 313 located near the elevator bank. It was very quiet which is usually my biggest concern anywhere I stay. The room was very clean and it looks as if extra effort to make sure everything was in stock in the microwave/ refrigerator area. The bathroom was very nice with the normal amenities. The TV was working well and no problem with the Marriott WiFi. I went across the street for dinner but since there was restrictions I brought it back to the room to eat. I didn’t really get to use any part of the pool or gym but they seem to be closed anyway due to virus concerns. Breakfast is the “grab and go concept” There is milk and juice in containers. Every bag as granola bar, dry cereal also. That is because the buffet style is closed in all locations again because of COVID concerns. I was impressed with staff operating in limited numbers with all that’s going on. Just a side note. The traffic is one way out from so it is a little tricky getting in. If you go out and come back and make sure you pay attention to traffic patterns. This is a nice facility and definitely consider it if you need a place to stay and are in the area.

We stayed at this hotel for 63 nights. The room was updated, clean and well equipped for anything we needed. We stayed on the second floor and only occasionally heard anyone above us. We never heard any noise in the halls, or rooms next to us. The free laundry facility and gym were a life saver. The manager Paula was superb in extending our stay several times. The location is great, near Somerset Mall, I75, and a ton of restaurants for all budgets. All of the employees that worked the desk were very friendly and accommodating, anytime we needed anything. This was a perfect, no frills hotel.

With Covid, we had to miss a couple years. It was so nice to return. The best part was getting to see Shamim, Golam, Titu and Ray. We even got to speak with Cheryl over the phone. This place has the most amazing staff members. Can hardly wait to see everyone again next weekend.

We had our daughter's Sweet 16 Birthday Celebration at the Hilton Garden Inn Troy and stayed there with family members. The rooms were spacious and immaculate with microwave, fridge, Keurig, amenities etc.. everything that we needed. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous and impressed our guests. The food was elegantly displayed and delicious and the Event staff were superb. Our guests were greeted and served the entire evening. Everyone felt special and couldn't stop talking about the event. Many of our guests said that they would love to host their next event there. To top off the evening, the hot tub was awesome! I would highly recommend this hotel for your next event as well as stay. If you love upscale living, this is the right hotel. The banquet room, bar area, lobby, sitting areas, are absolutely gorgeous!

My recent stay at the Somerset Inn was a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. The people I interacted with throughout my week-long stay are all courteous and accommodating, from the front desk to the restaurant. My room was in a convenient location, it was clean, and the bed and seating very comfortable. Meals in the restaurant were wonderful...in the morning it is so relaxing to sit at a table and have coffee and a lovely (full) breakfast. The manager, Duane, went out of his way to introduce himself to me and ensure that I was enjoying my stay. I will absolutely stay here when I am in Troy/Detroit area for business next!
