Having in the past tried several hotels in the paddington area of london, none of which ticked all my boxes, I was delighted to find what has over the past four years become my home from home in london. The Belvedere in peaceful and attractive Norfolk square is a family run hotel managed by a delightful couple called Richard and Leslie. They are very much hands on and are supported by an excellent , helpful and friendly team of reception, bedroom service and breakfast room staff. The hotel is very clean and well presented with well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms plus comfortable beds.. Breakfast is superb and the prices of rooms represent really excellent value. Paddington stations are 2 mins walk and the city centre is 20 mins max by underground. I cannot recommend this small hotel highly enough and promise that you will not be disappointed should you be wise enough to choose it. You always get a great welcome and are made to feel at home. TOP MARKS ON EVERY COUNT.

As echoed by most of the other reviews, this was a basic hotel. Firstly, THERE IS NO ELEVATOR. We are in our late 50s/60s and our room was up 6 flights of narrow, very steep steps on the 3rd floor. It was a struggle but we managed and I did get an offer of help from a young bloke at reception. We were just glad we weren't on the 4th or 5th floor!! The room was tiny but clean, smallest double bed I've ever seen but comfortable, being on the 3rd floor we left the window open all night and got a nice breeze on our feet! As for the non drinkable water, we've travelled enough in our lives to know to always buy a bottle of water for toothbrushing/drink during the night. Breakfast was included in the basement & was basic but certainly enough to kick start the day. 15 mins walk to Hyde Park & 2 to 3mins walk to Paddington station for the Heathrow Express or Elizabth line to Heathrow airport. A number of restaurants/pubs as you walk to to station. All round a good choice for 1 night.

The location is good and convenient, and the environment is good. Although the hotel has a small space, it is generally good. What I want to say most is that a bed collapsed, and there was a big hole in the middle of the mattress, which caused insomnia overnight. The next day, I said I changed the cushions, but I did n’t change the room. The hotel rooms were full, which caused me to sleep uncomfortably for two nights. Points to strongly suggest, improve! The hotel is provided for rest, if there are major problems in the facilities, you need to pay special attention! !! !!

The Gresham Hotel is in an ideal location, clean and tidy room, safe environment, friendly and accommodating customer service, and nice breakfast. The breakfast consists of an English breakfast (sausages, eggs, tomatoes, beans), and also buffet selection of bread to be toasted, jam, cereal, drinks, and fruits. The reception people were very helpful with directions to attractions and places in London. The Gresham Hotel is 10 minutes walk from Paddington Station (Paddington Express to Heathrow Airport), about 8 minutes from Paddington metro underground station, and 10 minutes from Lancaster Gate station.

Great location. Stayed for 2 nights and it was easy to walk from Paddington Station. For the amount that I paid for, the room served its purpose for a short stay. The room is small and clean. It was good enough for me. I would say its a good place to stay for solo traveller first time in London.

We stayed in the Executive Room for 5 nights. The room was large, in comparison with other London hotel rooms; we had enough space for two large suitcases, without having to trip/jump over them to get around the room! The location was great - just about 8 mins walk from Paddington station, which is the station for Heathrow Express. Our room included daily continental breakfast, which was surprisingly adequate, despite being ”continental”. In any case, there are lots of other breakfast places nearby, including those in Paddington station itself. The amenities provided in the room are sufficient, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Considering that the hotel was also value for money, I would highly recommend it.

The hotel has a great location next to Paddington station, which is where you arrive with the Heathrow express or the Elisabeth line. The staff is friendly and service minded. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, since there are plenty of nice options in the area. Be aware that the rooms have next to no space for hanging or storing your clothes, and there is no air conditioning. Also, if you have a room facing the street you will hear a lot of noice. It is a busy area around the hotel, both day and night. Rooms facing the back are much more quiet (our kids had a room with that location, while me and my wife had one towards the street). All in all, a good option for an extended weekend or similar. Perhaps not to recommend in the middle of the summer, unless you are ok with a warm room.

I stayed here for 1 night with my partner when we visited winter wonderland. Yes the rooms were small but we didn’t spend much time in the room apart from to sleep so it was fine for us. Modern and clean rooms. Staff were friendly. Nice and quiet too. Great location, only 2 minute walk to nearest tube station. The only downside was that it was extremely hot in the hotel but there is a/c in the rooms.

Cosy boutique hotel. This a charming boutique hotel but with 88 rooms is by no means small but does feel small. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. In particular I would like to thank Wyonna, Galena and Patricia for all their warm welcomes and assistance during the course of my stay. I loved the cosy ”library”/ lounge. I would suggest booking the Roomy/ King room (as it appears on Booking.com). However bearing in mind this is a boutique hotel not all lay outs of the rooms are the same. Some king rooms feel more spacious than others. I found my room to be very comfortable. The room air conditioner was excellent. The bed was comfy as was the linen however the pillows were too hard for my liking. There was a flat sheet over the mattress protector but I prefer a fitted sheet. There is great water pressure in the showers as well as plenty of hot water. Housekeeping does a really great job of keeping the room spotless. I would have loved a luggage rack as its really difficult to keep bending down when one is getting changed. I think the hotel should invest in luggage racks. There is no mini bar in the room. The hotel is centrally located. It is within short walking distance to 3 tube stations. I think for the money this hotel is a great option. I would return.

This hotel doesn't have an air conditioner. You can't open the windows because they've got them so that you can only open them three inches they put child locks on them. I would say that the room was not cool enough to be totally comfortable but somewhat acceptable and perhaps December January and February. This place is not inhabitable June July and August. Also the room was weird I had six steps going up to the toilet so I have to be cognizant in the middle of the night when I'm going to the bathroom not to fall down and break my bottom. My room said it came with breakfast but it was only a continental breakfast and it looked nasty but since it said breakfast the person who was serving breakfast was a nice enough to give me a full breakfast which was basically one egg bacon toast and beans which was acceptable. Continental breakfast is not acceptable and unless you book on the hotels website then that's what you're still basically a high carb high calorie low nutritional value meal. Would I stay here again? No unless it was December and January because there's no air conditioner which is unheard of. They have two fans in the room but what they basically do is essentially blow hot air around your room. I like the location of the hotel and I thought that the staff is professional. Also they don't clean your room every every day. They only clean the rooms every 4 days I find that completely unacceptable especially in 170 US dollar price point. Unacceptable. I only stayed one day so it didn't affect me but that I say three days I would have been very annoyed about their cheap policy if not cleaning the room on a daily basis who does that? I like the Polish lady that worked at the reception. Also this hotel has stairs in some funky locations. To get to my toilet I have to climb up six stairs to get to my room I had to climb up two different flights of five or six stairs also. They should clean the room daily for their price point it's ridiculous and guess what spend some money and put an air conditioner in the damn room.

The Edison is as good as ever and of such quality. Hotels in London are too expensive, so I booked the cheapest room type. On the downside, there is no view from the window. This hotel has a great feeling, the entrance is very beautiful, but there are many bars around at night, it would be scary to walk on foot. The toiletries are still specially customized by le labo. In the morning, the downstairs smells like coffee, and when you come back at night, it smells like le labo the noir, which is very comfortable. The room is fully equipped, the toilet is fully surrounded by rain, and there is mineral water. The light switch is also very delicate.

Stayed here last night with my son, we were at the stadium for a concert. This place is literally a walk down the hill to the stadium so perfect location. I couldn’t fault it really, it is a pub with rooms above- not a fancy hotel. I feel other reviews are very unfair… We paid 1/4 of the price to other places at Wembley. Our room was spotlessly clean with super comfy beds. would definitely book again!

We had to leave very unexpectedly, but did find the hotel a little run down looking from the outside. We had arrived early and the room was ready, but we could only check in early for an extra charge which we declined, as we were going out anyway so just left our bags in the car. The room was supposed to be an executive room however, it was like any other room we had ever stayed in so don’t know what was executive about it. Tea tray was a bit stingy with 1 packet of biscuits between 2 of us (1 biscuit each). Only 4 milk cartons, but plenty of tea and coffee sachets. The bathroom had nice shower gel and lotion supplied with plenty of towels but, also had blue insulation tape on the radiator and the ceiling above the bath was peeling it all looked a little tired. The room was clean and perfectly comfortable, but definitely lacked that added luxury that I thought we had upgraded to with executive. Maybe that was my own fault not checking exactly what the difference was between normal and executive aside from the price. Sadly, our trip was cut short with an emergency, so we never got to stay overnight or sample the breakfast.

Some hiccups during checkin. We specified in our booking that we have 2 kids. We even stated their ages. When we arrived, they said booking is only made for 2 adults. I showed them everything I have to prove my booking. They said we used a 3rd party agent to book (ie trip.com). The agent made a mistake and we should talk to them. (What???? ) But they will do me a favour and do the talking… ?? (Doing me a favour like I did sth wromg??). In the end they upgrade us to a family suite, adding that it could be for 1 night only, they may require us to move and bla bla bla….. Yes you upgraded me but so what! Your staff’s attitude is the whole problem. I used a 3rd party agent, but it’s a company you approved of. When problems arise you blame it on customer?! I gave a 2/5 for service simply bcoz of the upgrade.

I lived in this hotel for the first time in the UK. The experience was very good at the time, the hotel is in a good location and cost-effective, so I thought I would choose to stay here afterwards. I wanted to book a room in advance for the second time this time, but chose a lot of dates without a room. Later only accessible rooms were available. Think about staying alive for two nights. Because one of them happens to be a New Year's Eve, it goes without saying that the price is not cost-effective. The room I gave was facing the street, and I didn't sleep well after a night of noisy. And this time the service attitude was very average. Retaining luggage is also reluctant. The front desk was also lazy. In short, I won't come next time. In the end, a penny is a penny, and a willingness to spend money on Mayfair's Marriott.

Staff were amazing and attentive when issues arose. Booked the king size room which was large and spacious but that’s where the good parts end. - Air Condition did not work (Told reception when we got in at night and was given a fan) - Mini fridge did not work, so gave the food we bought to amazing receptionist - lamp in the corner was not plugged in, had to move the table from the wall to switch it on. - Bathroom wasn’t wiped down properly so you could see the residue of the last guests. Besides the amazing staff who helped and gave good local recommendations for bars and restaurants the quality of the hotel was lacking. Would not be staying again.

this hotel is a distance away from the city, but i’ve come to love it’s quiet and quaint neighbourhood. as hotel guests, you get free rides on the ferry to & fro Canary Wharf pier, which is still about a 10 minute walk to Canary Wharf metro & various malls. the hotel has narrow hallways to the rooms, floors are a little squeaky & you can hear people talk in the halls from your hotel room. lifts were a little confusing as well as rooms are subdivided into 8 areas (8 lifts). me and my mother didn’t receive a warm cookie upon check-in, but my boyfriend who arrived the next morning did, along with the ferry schedule, so i would say hotel service is inconsistent. we also had several issues with the toilet not being able to flush (me & my boyfriend’s room) & it took half a day for someone to attend to us - from the time we left the hotel to an hour after we got back. my mom had to call thrice on this issue. our toilet was also smaller and there was no drainage on the bathroom floor so it was often wet.

Very nice stay at the Bankside hotel though not without some difficulties. We had asked for a quiet room but were placed right next to the lift lobby and opposite the water dispenser, and with hard floors throughout the lift lobby and entrance area of the rooms this meant a LOT of noise coming in the room at all hours. In fairness, the front desk tried to find an alternative but it was not what we were looking for so we opted to stay where we were and made the best of it. Aside from this everything else about the stay was great, a really lovely modern hotel with very friendly and fun staff, great breakfast (though not cheap) and good location on the South Bank. We would definitely stay here again (though ask not to be in this room location). Special mention to breakfast staff who helped get extra fruit for our toddler and concierge who gave him Christmas gifts from the tree... lovely touches.

Good location, very close to Imperial College, in the middle of Gloucester Road and South Kensington subway station, it is more convenient to transfer to anywhere. The hotel faces the street and is more or less noisy at night. It is also a residential renovation. Although the facilities are not old (in the case of Britain), the house is a bit crowded. The self-service ibis is quite good value for money and the Crowne Plaza next to it doesn't feel much better than it.

Where to start...first impressions were not good at all. We stayed on Wednesday 11th November. We were locked out, despite staff knowing we would be arriving late (we arrived at 23:15). We tried for 15 minutes, in the pouring rain to get in, we called and called and called..no answer and then the door miraculously opened as if by magic. We got to reception to be greeted by the most miserable person we have ever met. No apology, no hello, no nothing just ”gotta reservation?”..as someone who runs a 4 star hotel this guy wouldn't have a job, how he (Asian, 5ft 10ish, black jumper) actually HAS a job I'll never know all I can think is nepotism. I realise we are in London, the land of no manners but we expected more from a 4 star hotel. Anyway, our room was ok, no toiletries, only 1 set of towels (Covid? Who knows), poor tv channels and a non working remote due to our 'Mr. Miserable' host we didn't want to complain incase we made him cry. Nice pillows in the room, I like firm pillows. Breakfast was nice considering and the server Faruk/Faruq was lovely. An asset and a saving grace to our trip, helpful, friendly, welcoming, couldn't do enough for us maybe he could train Mr. Miserable in how to be nice. Our check out was smooth our receptionist asked how our stay was honestly we couldn't be bothered to tell her about our check in and bet she wouldn't have done anything anyway. All in all we wouldn't stay in a holiday Inn again, we have had better service in an Ibis.

Just an average hotel convenient for the area. Closed for 3 months from 1st November 2020. A few problems with the room but can be put down to the closure of the hotel for a few months. Double check when booking about breakfast being included in your rate and be aware it is a simple boxed 'continental' breakfast; Parking, though advertised is not free - from £10 per night, again check when booking and spaces are limited. At weekends, on street, free parking is available. if you need t be in this area and just need a place to rest your head, this hotel would do.

I cannot recommend this pub/hotel highly enough. Location was perfect for Olympia (my reason for travel was attending a 2 day even there), the team were all helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make me feel welcome, including offering to hold my luggage and help me up to my room (as no lift). The room (a 2nd floor twin facing Olympia) was also a very good size, excellently equipped (lovely drinks, comfy chair, spacious desk) and amazingly soundproof from both the road and train right outside, and the pub downstairs. The breakfast was possibly the best English breakfast I've ever had, and the coffee just superb. On top of that the stay was excellent value for the area, and I felt safe and looked after as a lone female traveller. Would look for a reason to come and enjoy this place again, and ideally have time to try to food too next time if the breakfast is anything to go by!

I have spent 40 years traveling the world and I have stayed in the smallest hotels that Japan has to offer including capsule hotels. Hotel Mimi beats them all - the room I stayed in was small, really small with no window. But it was great! - I knew what I was letting myself in for but I knew all I wanted was a comfortable bed and somewhere to wash and the room excelled at both of these things. Beautiful marble bathroom with Molton Brown soaps and shampoos. Now, if you ask if it was worth the nearly £200 I paid the answer is no - but this is London and thats what you have to pay. Stay at Mimi's - but make sure you know what you could experience.

With its excellent service, stylish design, and inviting atmosphere, it's the perfect choice for travelers looking for a comfortable and convenient stay near the airport. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area and look forward to returning in the future.

I stay with the IHG group every week and one hotel stay rolls into another. However tonight's stay deserves a positive review thanks to young man on reception called Joshua. I arrived at the hotel extremely early, just after 14:00 and understandly my room was not yet ready. Joshua gave me a drinks voucher and set me up in the downstairs bar / restaurant. It's comfy and quiet down there and I was able to get on with some work. Once my room was ready I discovered that I had been upgraded which was a pleasant surprise. Then later in the evening Joshua was kind enough to bring me up a fan along with a key that allowed him to open the windows. So often you're just another number, but not tonight. Joshua was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and polite. I will use this hotel as often as possible and recommend it to others.

While I did not have high expectations for this hotel given its price point and location, I anticipated basic comfort which. The majority of the room's amenities were outdated, yet still within an acceptable standard for me. However, the air conditioning system was disappointingly inadequate; it failed to produce heat and emitted only cold air. Despite the staff promptly providing an electric heater when alerted to this issue, the room remained uncomfortably cold. The most disconcerting part of my stay was the condition of the bedding. The filler in the duvet had clumped together, as evidenced by the attached photo, likely due to improper washing. This left me with little more than two thin sheets in zero-degree weather, with a non-functional heating system. To find some warmth, I resorted to wearing additional clothes and draping my down jacket over the duvet—a far cry from a comfortable night's sleep. I must commend the hotel staff, who were excellent throughout this ordeal. Their service was the only warm aspect of my stay.
