|0.52km from city centerVery good. The milk delivered is very delicious and you can refill it. Although the city of Invercargill is a bit deserted, this hotel is good. Will stay here next time

|0.28km from city centerThere is just too many positive things I can say about this Motel. The staff were amazing and very helpful. The room we had was large and extremely clean. It had a wonderful kitchenette. The bed was mega comfortable. There was a nice hotel across the road with great food. Also they offer a free laundry for guests, which we used. Thank you again for the wonderful service you offer and at a reasonable price. Very happy.

|0.57km from city centerTower Lodge Motel must surely be rated as one of the best in Invercargill. We were surprised how quiet it was there even being located on a busy city road Queens Drive, and we stayed four nights. The unit was clean, modern and we found everything in excellent working order. Queens Park and the Botanic Gardens are close by and make for a lovely walk especially in the summer evenings. Across the road is the impressive Water Tower, which serves as a visual landmark for first timers to Invercargill. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Tower Lodge Motel comes highly recommended to all travellers. Vanessa & Tulipa

|0.09km from city centerMy husband (30) & I (28) stayed in this motel for one evening, stopping on our drive through. We had a small room but it was perfect for both of us for one evening. Bathroom and kitchen area was small but we enjoyed showering and having breakfast easily enough. It even had a bar area to sit at and eat. The room had a mini bar if you are interested in having a snack! Parking right outside. Owners suggested a good restaurant and gave us a free drink coupon! Honestly I would highly recommend.

|0.32km from city centerOur accommodation was in one of the adjoining houses - which was very well specced! Very modern and clean and spacious - it was like having a huge house to ourselves. Location also very convenient. Staff were super helpful too, allowing us to store some gear with them for a few days while we visited Stewart Island (we returned and stayed another day following our return to Invercargill).

|1.63km from city centerThis hotel was great - everything was very good and being able to park right outside the large room was a bonus. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was also spacious and had heated towel rails and plenty of towels. All the staff were efficient and cheerful - the food and service in the restaurant was very good for dinner and breakfast.

|0.39km from city centerThe hotel has breakfast. Although it is not very rich, it is full of nutrition and it is already in the room when you check in. The hotel does not have its own parking lot, but the car can be parked on the road in front of the hotel. It is free from 6pm to 9am the next day.

|0.43km from city centerLovely accommodation with friendly helpful owners and staff. The suite had recently been renovated and decorated and was very clean throughout. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was nice and quiet. Unit has smallish kitchen but as we only had breakfast there this wasn't a problem. We enjoyed our time in Invercargill so much that we stayed an extra night. Very good value and we would definitely stay here again.

|1.01km from city centerVery happy with our overnight stay here. Hosts friendly and helpful. Was great to have the hot showers and do our washing here after a few days without both. The beautiful weather helped. The kids loved interacting with other guests and finally being able to watch a bit of NBA

|0.53km from city centerWe stayed here for two nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check in was friendly and fast. The staff kindly acknowledged our prior request for a room on the second floor. Our room 209 was clean, comfortable and quiet. Situated at the rear of the building on a corner meant we heard very little street noise and had plenty of natural light. The location of the Quest is great, right in the centre of town with numerous eating options within easy walking distance. Parking is free and about a 30 second walk from the main door. We couldn’t have asked for better and would definitely stay again.

|0.41km from city centerWe booked for two nights stays. However, the motel checked us out from our room without any attempt to contact us on day 2 when my husband and I were out enjoying a private tour of the Catlin cost. The motel staff touched all our belongings, including toiletries, packed a bag, and threw most of the fresh foods that we bought for supper for the night and breakfast for the following day. The motel blamed us for this incident simply because my husband had handed the key to the reception staff before heading out for the tour. Well, we did not ask them to check us out we asked them to keep the room key in the reception until we return from the tour. After a long conversation with the onsite manager, we finally received a room key but not the same room we stayed in on our 1st night. The manager also handed our luggage packed by a motel staff and a plastic bag with some food items that were not being thrown away for some reason. We wrote a complaint email to the management team about this incident upon returning from our holiday. However, the first and the last response that we had received was still the same, blaming us instead of apologizing. We wrote back to ask for formal apologies and compensation for the food items they have decided to throw away. But they have ignored us, and we haven't heard back from them in multiple attempts. I am very upset that the motel management still hasn't apologized, and they rather blamed the quests. This absurd thing happened in this motel. Compensate us for the foods that the birch wood manor motel arbitrarily removed when were traveling. I booked a 1bedroom apartment, but there was no bathtub. 27~29/Nov/2021

|0.32km from city centerWe stayed 2 nights at Villa Rouge and had a wonderful time . Hosts Dianna and Noel were so accommodating and helpful at all times . The breakfast is excellent and there was always yummy home made treats on offer. The old restored home is beautiful and you get the use of bedroom, sitting room and the library for your personal use whilst you stay . There is a vast collection of dvd’s available and we enjoyed staying in both nights with a bottle of wine and watched a movie on the large projector screen in the sitting room . I would highly recommend staying here if you are passing through Invercargill

Invercargill
|0.29km from city centerI stayed here for a total of three nights while transiting between the Hump Ridge Track and Stewart Island in late December 2022. I booked the King Suite, a spacious studio apartment of penthouse proportions with sweeping views out across Invercargill and towards the Southland plains in one direction and Bluff in another. With the exception of the luxurious bathroom, the room was somewhat dated, and the circa 1980s shagpile carpet definitely needs replacing. However, it was still quite relaxing and comfortable. The highlight of staying here were the excellent staff and their exemplary level of support and service. I was abruptly woken in the early hours of the morning on my first night due to extremely loud guests in a neighbouring room who appeared to be in the hotel to drink and play in the gaming lounge. When I mentioned this to the staff at reception the next morning they promptly offered to move me to another room, which I accepted. Admittedly the second room was much more tired and worn than the King Suite, but the bed was comfortable, the sheets 5-star and I slept very well on the second night. Not only did they move me but they gave me, completely un-requested on my part, a partial refund to reflect the lower price difference of moving into the second room (the suite I initially stayed in is the most expensive room in the hotel). I greatly appreciated the management and reception's thoughtful responses to my need for a good night's sleep before starting out on the Hump Ridge Track. When I returned about 5 days later, I stayed in the King Suite, that I first been booked into, again. The noisy guests in neighbouring rooms had checked out, and the room was quiet and relaxing, just what I needed after completing the Hump Ridge Track. It is true that this hotel could do with a general refurbishment and renovation, but it represents good value for money with excellent staff, among the best I have met anywhere the world, and probably the friendliest and most helpful I've ever met in a New Zealand hotel. I also stayed, after returning from Stewart Island in early January, at the band new Langlands Hotel which, like the Kelvin Hotel, is also owned by the Invercargill Licensing Trust (ITL). While I thoroughly enjoyed the luxury at the Langlands I equally enjoyed the Kelvin and would happily stay here again.

|0.46km from city centerTucked away at the end of a quite residential road and adjacent to lovely Queen's Park our motel style 2 bedroom unit was nice and quite, clean and basic, with old and dated decor and furniture. The reception staff struggled to speak English which was frustrating. At $150 for a unit with 4 beds (1 king and 2 singles) for one night, no real complaints.
