There are such nice views from the room, as a chain hotel the amnities are quite good but would have wanted a proper coffee machine. The bed and the linens are confortable and soft. it was a very bad experience in this hotel, the bathroom is flooding after taking shower since the water drain so slow.
Even one night no hot water provide, and my boss room suddenely no electricity.
there are few steps to the escalator in the lobby, it is not convenient to take the heavy luggage up the steps.
the only one good thing is the breakfast, many choices.

It is located very close to a metro station (Monplaisir - Lumiere, green line) so the city centre can be reached easily. The price was very good too. The photo of the room we booked was different than what we had at the hotel. We booked the 3 beds on the floor along side, but actual room was the one double bed with one bunk bed above. We went to change the room with the hotel staff but he said it was the same type of room we booked if want to change it cost more but the size of the room won't be bigger. Just the room has kettle. The location of the hotel is quite convenient, close to Guillotiere on Tramway Line 1, and it takes three or four minutes to walk. There is also a No. 12 bus to Bellecour. The room and bathroom are of good size, the hotel is clean, and the environment is not bad. Please note that there is no safe in the room, no luggage rack, there is a kettle, but no spoon, the cups are all disposable paper cups, and there is no tissue in the room, which is not very convenient. I live on the fourth floor, and there are several steps on both sides of the room, and I need to lift the luggage up, which is not very convenient (the last two pictures). The front desk service of the hotel is quite satisfactory. They are relatively young, so they probably don’t know how to communicate with guests better, but as long as you ask questions, they will answer you. For example, when checking in, the front desk forgot to tell me the hotel WIFI password and how to call the front desk. What I like most about the hotel is that the towels are soft and the toiletries are also good! And the view at 6 o'clock in the morning! Because I don't know how to use the blackout curtains, I need to adjust them, and the curtains can't block out the light. I think the carpet is a bit old. Although there is no odor in the room, the corridor, door and carpet are all old styles. I didn't live very comfortably. Although the quilt and bed are very comfortable, I always feel a little gloomy. The waiter is very good! The minibar is free to use, and there is a 14-hour room service. This is a five-star hotel in a classic style, converted from an old building. Definitely not the kind of hotel used in China. In the center of the old town of Lyon, there are various stores on the doorstep, and a stylish chocolate shop diagonally opposite, and the famous Rose Tower attractions across the alley next to the hotel. The interior decoration of the hotel is also old-fashioned, the door is opened with a key and no card is needed. The room was beautiful and welcoming, the toilet and shower room were separated. There is also a spa on the top floor. We went to live in Lyon on the day of the annual Lyon Festival of Lights, and on the weekend, the room price doubled several times than usual. It's easy to miss without paying attention. If the usual price to live is definitely possible. Holidays are definitely expensive. It is very convenient to visit and live in the old town. The experience is not bad but not what I would expect from a 4 stars hotel. People working in the hotel are very nice, which is a big +. However, the cleanliness is so so in the room. There was a night I didn’t have hot water for shower for some reason. The breakfast is okay but I believe 17€ is a bit overpriced for what it is. Very nice service from the ladies there though. The gym isn’t a gym, it has no dumbbells, only one or two cardio machine and a musculation machine supposed to do everything but not very great. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Charlemagne By HappyCulture in Lyon! Everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel is modern, clean, and very comfortable, with spacious rooms and a peaceful atmosphere — a real plus in the city center. The location is perfect: just steps away from the Perrache station, tram and metro stops, and within easy walking distance to the old town and the riverside. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafés, and shops nearby.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and they kindly allowed us to check in early at no extra cost. Breakfast was delicious and offered a good variety. The hotel is in a very good location, located in the heart of the old town of Lyon. The streets of the old town are very retro and medieval. You can visit the film museum, order a cup of coffee and sit on the street for an afternoon. There is a wood-fired pizza shop next to the hotel. The boss is very happy to bake pizza to the rhythm of music, and the pizza is also delicious. In front of the hotel is the Saone River. Across the bridge are various museums, churches, town halls and other landmarks. Behind the hotel is Fourvière Hill. There is a hiking trail next to the hotel to the top of the mountain in 20 minutes to overlook the entire city of Lyon. You can visit the Basilica of Notre Dame de Fourvière, the ancient Roman theater and museums, and sit in the mountaintop coffee shop for a while. Half a day's work is over. The hotel room is quite large, clean and tidy. The three-person family room has the Saone River outside the window. There was mysterious flakes and dusts on the nightstands and floor when I arrived into the room for the first time. Also the sound insulation isn’t the best in this oldish building, so each morning be aware of the doors shutting and elevator door closing.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Charlemagne By HappyCulture in Lyon! Everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel is modern, clean, and very comfortable, with spacious rooms and a peaceful atmosphere — a real plus in the city center. The location is perfect: just steps away from the Perrache station, tram and metro stops, and within easy walking distance to the old town and the riverside. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafés, and shops nearby.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and they kindly allowed us to check in early at no extra cost. Breakfast was delicious and offered a good variety. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value and a perfect base for exploring Lyon. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next visit!

The room isn't big, but for a city hotel, the price is quite good. Breakfast is very mediocre, and the key issue is the security access. The front desk isn't 24-hour, which is incredibly inconvenient. Parking is also a nightmare, like navigating a labyrinth!

Staff was super friendly and this is the only hostel I stay where the staff walk me up to the room and explain everything. If you have research where the location of this hostel, you will know the hostel is located on the top of hill. So definitely a battle if you have big luggage..the selling point of this hostel would be enjoying the view from the terrace. Overall the place is clean just the facility bit old for the toilet. I think they really should be doing some upgrading and some tlc for the room.(Some of the curtain are already wear and tear) The location up the hill I think a plus point for me as I take it as an exercise after having stuff myself with so much foods and with rewarding views.
