The Peninsula Manila, a hotel with over 50 years of history, boasts an excellent location in the heart of Makati, just a 20-minute drive from the airport. It's surrounded by numerous shopping malls, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. The hotel lobby is grand and currently has a strong Christmas atmosphere. Both the rooms and bathrooms are spacious, though the facilities are a bit dated, they are still clean and tidy. The staff are all very warm and polite; they readily approved my request for a late check-out. The breakfast offers a wide variety of choices and tastes great. What an amazing difference an experience compared to several years ago when I used to stay regularly at this hotel. The attention to detail is outstanding compared to it used to be. The check in and out is fast and efficient, greeted with a smile. They even welcomed me back, paying attention to the fact I'd been a previous guest. Want to leave your deposit via a card? No problem at all. No insisting that you go to an atm to draw our cash!! The buffet breakfast was plentiful and hot, with a good variety of both Western and Filipino dishes. The only thing missing was some lovely fried bacon.😎🙏 Staff in the restaurant were always on duty, ensuring that tables were clean quickly and efficiently. The chef and kitchen staff were always checking on the amount of food available for guests and refilling as quickly as possible. Every single member of staff from the pool attendant to the housekeeping to the front desk to the restaurant had a smile, even security were present, but not in your face. The only thing that could be improved, as always, is the issue with the elevators. It's something that is historic for this building and they take forever to service each floor. I know that they are maintaining the other elevators and I assume trying to get them back in fully functioning form. Once that happens, I believe that the experience will be 100 percent perfect. Sometimes you could be waiting for 10 minutes just to get the elevator to reach your floor and when you're trying to get downstairs to jump in your grab car that's waiting. It's no joke. One final little request that could make the experience a little better, is to update and refurbish the equipment in the gym. and put the aircon system back in fully working operation, And double cheque some of the water pressure issues with the showers at times. At times you would get hot water, other times you'd get lukewarm water. Sometimes it would be full force, other times it would be a dribble. These are minor issues though. The hotel's location is excellent, with a 7-Eleven and a mall conveniently nearby. The service was good; the staff were friendly and easy to communicate with. I also appreciated the water dispenser for refilling bottles and tumblers.
However, the room lacked basic amenities like toiletries, bottled water, and an electric kettle. Only towels were provided.
I had a late check-in due to my flight, and the room did not feel properly cleaned. The blanket was damp, and after spending the night, my pajamas smelled strongly of urine. I requested a change of bedding the next day, which helped reduce the smell.
The air conditioner worked fine, but the room is not soundproof at all. The surrounding area is active at night, so noise from outside can be disruptive.

Whenever i come home and need to stay in mnl, i typically look for places that offer amenities i haven’t tried. I’M hotel offered those amenities- a unique and good sized length lap pool as well as the Onsen Spa. I was sold.
The pool area was gorgeous especially at night with their “birdcage” cabanas. The Spa oh darling if i could use that more than was recommended, I would have! Bonus points for the massage and personalized service as well as the rooftop bar and views 😍
I want to also send a shout out to the professional , helpful and utterly amazing staff. I believe that a business has a huge chance of longevity mainly due to how wonderful the staff takes care of the guests needs. Front desk helped us navigate with checking in and out, getting our rides and helping us with other needs- be it housekeeping, dining or other tasks. Housekeeping, pool guys, food and beverage people, and security went above and beyond with their responsibilities. I have no complaints.
I also would like to point out something that I hope to be taken into consideration. While we were there for 2 days, we had limited options for drinks during breakfast. Being in a tropical country- having local flavors would be such a great addition to the buffet spread. Calamansi or Mango juices would have been very much appreciated. Otherwise everything was wonderful.

For a 5 star hotel, the service is very annoying. They would call me randomly to ask for feedback a few hours after I checked in. They would knock on my door early in the morning while I'm still sleeping to do a ”room check”... On the day of my check out, I had a knock on the door a bit past 9am, I ignored it as I was still in bed but they kept ringing the bell. I finally got up and the lady asked ”is there anything I can help with?”. Yes leave me alone. I went back to bed to rest and then got a phone call soon after as a reminder that check out is at 12pm. It's not even 10am yet and your staff already interrupted my sleep twice. Trying to get the room clean involves multiple phone calls. Once I left it to see how long it would take but at 6pm, I had to call since they never came during the day. Another time they cleaned, the cleaners said they ran out of towels so there would be someone who would deliver soon. I forgot about it until we went to have a shower and then it took almost an hour for the towels to arrive so we had to wait to use the bathroom as they took away the dirty towels so we didn't have anything to dry ourselves. Don't order room service. The food is very bad. I actually gagged on a drink they prepared. The TV is very old, they are still using cable technology. WiFi is patchy. Trying to get up and down the lift is a nightmare if you come at the wrong time as the line gets backed up all the way out into the street. My girlfriend was stopped by over eager security staff when she was trying to leave to buy some snacks as the room service meals were so bad even tho she had a room key and they would not let her up to the lobby on the 6th floor without me. Instead, I had to go down and pick her up from the ground floor where she was sitting in the corner like she was in trouble.FromDKK 819

Our stay at Citadines Salcedo Makati was an excellent experience. The property offers a great balance of comfort, convenience, and modern design. Its location in Salcedo Village is ideal — peaceful yet close to many restaurants, cafés, and business areas in Makati.
The room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. What truly stood out, however, was the warm hospitality of the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to assist, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

The hotel it self was good. However there’s some things that we did not expect like the electric kettle that is not working, the service spoon and fork that looks like a decade not being clean, the inclusions like basic personal hygiene (tootbrush and toothpaste) though we already have but please remind clients before check in if there’s no available specially if it’s mention on the Trip.Com that it’s included. Great location. There's a Starbucks at the Ground Floor. Breakfast is served at the instagrammable George and Onnies' Filipino Restaurant which is also at the Ground Floor. The plated menu portions were rather small and there is no sides buffet, no salad bar, etc. Pool is nice. Gym is clean but the ventilation is not good. It smells dusty and moldy. Room has no bedside light switches which is rather odd. Shower area is small. Nevertheless, this hotel is ok. Things can be improved further though.FromDKK 381

This hotel gave a tip top services from the staffs with clean n big room. They are very polite and helpful. Verities of breakfast n free flow of non alcohol drinks served at the lounge. Decent hotel for business travel/meetings in area. For the budget I think its worth very worth money. However I do feel that there are some considerations that could have made the whole experience a lot better
1) Facilities could do with some upgrade - from rooms, to bathrooms (musty smell, toilet ventilation was slightly slow), to gym
2) Food has improved from previous stay
3) Security could be better improved - got a call past 12 midnight saying we had a visitor and i said no, visitor still turned up
4) Having 1 lift down for servicing during peak period through the 4-5days is quite abit of a jam during the morning rush hoursFromDKK 564

Breakfast is very basic, and served from a menu.You have to pay for coffee like cappuccino, it's not included, unlike any other hotel, including those I've stayed at in Manila. If you are looking for a good breakfast, and served like a buffet, this is not the place for you.
Advantages of the hotel: proximity to nice cafes, free parking at the hotel, in terms of cost vs. benefit the hotel gets a high score. If they improved the breakfast it would get a 100% score.FromDKK 483

🌟 [Hotel Review (Manila Stay)] 🌟
This was my first time in Manila, and the staff's hospitality was outstanding.
When I ordered takeout, I was treated a little unfairly because I was Japanese, which almost led to a dispute. However, a male staff member from the front lobby came to my room to check on the situation and dealt with the situation courteously and quickly. I was really impressed by his reliable and reassuring service.
The hotel as a whole had solid security, and I felt safe and secure during my stay. I didn't use the amenities this time, so I kept my rating low, but the hotel was very clean.
I'll definitely stay at this hotel again the next time I visit Manila.

The room was very clean. It had everything you needed. The staff were very friendly and professional. The location is also good. There are 3 restaurants in the building with reasonable prices. We tried Cache and it was good. We wanted to try Kaokee but our trip was short so we didnt get to do it anymore. Will definitely recommend this and will book again if ever we come back.FromDKK 303

This will be an odd one. Service is outstanding. Hotel is overall very good. The location is close to the Poblacion neighbourhood which is great for nightlife, and red light district stuff. Quite spacious hotel. And walking distance to greenbelt, glorietta and sm makati. Hope next time give 2 keys because a bit troublesome I need to wake up my husband to help me lock the door or need both of us together go out. But overall stay is very good. Very comfortable to stay.FromDKK 345
