Would like to highlight an issue we encountered with regards to our deposit and certain charges that were made to us but which we had not incurred.
When we were checking out, we asked to have a look at our statement of charges as we understood that any additional charges would be offset by the deposit placed with the hotel. We had dinner at ”The Prime -Grill and Lounge” on one of the nights and just wanted to check if the charges were right. The statement showed 3 separate bills that were not incurred by us and were all purchases of alcohol, which we found strange.
When we brought this up with the front desk, the staff did not seem surprised at all with the error or sought to verify the same anywhere nor were we given any apology for the mistake. It was as though she already knew that those 3 charges were unanauthorised transactions and said that the hotel would rectify the issue with the bank in respect of our deposit. The front desk was also very adamant to not let us speak to her manager about the issue.
We just wanted to highlight the above because we would usually just trust the hotel to refund the right amount of deposit without checking, especially when using credit card to pay the same. But it may be worth checking when it comes to this hotel as based on the reaction which we got from the front desk, it seems that such mistakes whether intentional or not have happened before. We also hope that the hotel would do some sort of investigation into how issues like this could happen.SOLD OUT

Most of the staffs are friendly and so helpful. Except for one female receptionist, I found her a bit rude and not helping at all. Due to the typhoon on 27 July, I was thinking to extend my room, she just rudely said that my room already booked so unable to extend n she didn't even trying to give more assistance.
When I asked if there's other available twin room. She continued rudely said that they have n I need to check out at 11am and checkin again at 3pm. this type of receptionist has no people service attitude. She not suitable to be a receptionist.
The room without window is clean but quite smelly, not sure what smell is that. First time encounter something like this.
Even when stayed in 2 different hotels without window back in Taipei the room was fine.From$20

Room is sizeable and good, but some improvements could still be done for the hotel such as better charging ports (the ones beside bed are fixed to a certain USB type) as well as a cabinet to hang clothing and towels. I booked a double room and room size was big enough and cosy. No bottles of drink water in room but can get warm/cold water from dispense at common area. The service staff is professional and friendly. There is an area next to the counter on the first floor where you can take a break temporarily and there is a coffee machine to provide drink service (the coffee is really fragrant and mellow, delicious) and there is an unlimited charging service on the table.

Was given a bigger room but it has a funky smell. Requested to change a room but they denied until I had to give them a 2nd call right after they hang up. They asked someone to come over to check and upon acknowledging the weird smell in the toilet, they say just let the smell go away on it's own with freshener. I had to reject the housekeeper TWICE before they let me change another room which is much better. No smell and cleaner. They should've given this room from the start. Service is terrible but the location is just beside Fengjia Night Market which is a plus point.
There is a bus stop just below the hotel that goes to Ruyi to get some snacks shopping done.
Breakfast quality is bad but sufficient. No high expectation on the breakfast.From$50

Booked this hotel as it has indoor playground facility but only the big slide for the bigger toddler was interesting while the play area for the younger ones was placed at the laundry area which felt warm and dated. The rooms are not exactly soundproof as we can hear doors opening and shutting. Breakfast was pretty disappointing, other than for the fact that it has plain porridge which we manage to feed my babies. But the complimentary minibar was generous with coke and isotonic drink. The following is my personal experience, only for the reference of consumers who choose hotels: 1. After entering the registration of Daxuan, the counter informed that you need to wait until 3:30 pm to enter the room (this is normal), and it took a long time after 3:30. I went to the counter and asked (can't wait) before getting the room card (the counter is busy). 2 During the waiting period for entering the room, ask the counter about the dinner reservation: no seat, how to book the room without dinner (I only knew when I got the room card, I didn't say that I had a reservation, and the counter didn't ask, who to blame)! 3. After entering the room, wow! A big room (really big, it cost money, I didn't expect it to be related to an unpleasant one the next day). 4. Take a swimsuit to the hot spring to go to the hot spring! Lots of electrical outlets/USB for charging devices. Wi-Fi access points work everywhere in the building. Great views of the Central/East Districts and Main Station, especially at night. Amazing price point for this level of hotel quality. Service is where Le Meridien Taichung shines. Exec Lounge team so helpful, special thanks to Angel, Lisa, Irin, Yang. Concierge helped us with check-in and restaurants (Billy, Wilber, Debbie). And Marriott app chat with Front Desk works great, responded within minutes. You can hear street traffic in the rooms but it’s not excessive. The hostel was very quiet due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions but staff was very helpful, attentive and spoke good English. Bathrooms have plenty of toilets and showers and space for drying your hair or applying make up. Breakfast is plentiful and nicely prepared. Good option to start the day. Walk to the Sun Moon Lake bus stop is 5-8 minutes just north of the hostel (staff can point you in that direction too). Washer and dryer are also available to guests and about 50 NTD each. Cheap! Hostel also has a small grocery store with dried foods and a fridge to store things if needed. Towels are not included which is a little bit of a bummer but not a deal breaker. My only two items as an FYI: your keycard has to be used in the bed for the power outlet which is problematic when you need to charge something and be in the restroom. And, the machine used to clean and purify the air in the rooms leaves a bad weird smell. It can alleviate a bit but not much. If you’re overly sensitive this will be a problem. I would still recommend this hostel and would stay again.
