I went canyoneering in Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines, and overall it was pretty good. We left Manila at noon, then had to fly to Cebu and take a bus to Moalboal. The journey was quite long and winding, but we finally arrived after 11 PM. Someone helped me open the door, and there was a security guard at the entrance. The security guard even brought my suitcase to my room. All in all, it was a good experience.

The hotel's air conditioning is a proper AC unit, not just a cooler! It was so much quieter! Other places had noisy coolers that kept me from sleeping. The hotel front desk can also book tours with pick-up and drop-off, which is incredibly convenient... I wish I had known about this hotel sooner! Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It boasts a fantastic beachfront location, and the main street is within easy walking distance. We stayed in a room on the second floor above the diving center. It was a bit noisy at night, as if cars were constantly coming and going right outside our window. Perhaps a room by the pool would be quieter, though kids might be loud there during the day, which could also be noisy since we like to relax during the day… I’m not sure. We ate at the hotel restaurant once, and it was quite tasty, but we didn't like the coffee. We ordered breakfast to go twice, and I highly recommend the Club sandwich – it's absolutely amazing! I used the rental services; we rented a kayak and fins (we had our own mask, but masks and snorkels can also be rented, as can life vests). The pools are tiny; I only took photos in one. During our stay in June 2026, the building directly on the beach was undergoing renovations. I imagine it will look absolutely beautiful once it's finished. There were no Russians at our hotel at all, but lots of Chinese and Koreans. We took water from the dispenser at reception for our kettle, which was a great convenience. I remember Crystal at the front desk, and I wish her all the best! Initially, we went swimming to the right, towards the Chili Bar, because the reef seemed closer to shore there. But then I realized it was very comfortable right here at our hotel beach, it was free, and local children didn't bother us trying to sell beads. During our visit, it was jellyfish season, and there was a lifeguard on our beach who treated us with vinegar. Overall, the reef near the hotel beach is quite good; swim to the right towards the Chili Bar. On our last day, I swam for over an hour, but definitely bring fins. By the way, the sardine run extends all the way to us here! I also want to mention that the hotel’s location is quite far from 7/11 and McDonald's. It took us an hour to walk there, and then we took a tricycle back for 300 pesos. We didn't book the hotel transfer, as it seemed expensive; in the end, we paid 2500 for a transfer from Travel Frog. We also booked an excursion on the street. Our room was spacious but a bit uncomfortable. To the owners: the connecting door in room 205 is inconvenient; it was noisy because of our neighbors. Also, there were no slippers.

This is a really great spot, you couldn't ask for a better or more convenient place for snorkeling. Just buy a mask and you can swim for free as long as you like. The AC works 24/7, the bedding is clean, and the shower is excellent with good water pressure. There's even a place to park your motorbike. It's only a 1-minute walk to the beach. You can rent new life jackets for 50 pesos a day. To the left of the exit, before lunch, they sell cheap, hearty homemade food (WELL'S KITCHEN). A bit further around the corner, you'll find cheap fruits and groceries, much more affordable than on the main road. The staff is friendly, and there's daily cleaning. The lockers are clean and spacious. Perfect!

Nice resort near beautiful White Beach in Moalboal. Perfect for people who like lounging on the beach, diving, and/or want a stress free vacation in a resort. It’s about a three hour drive from Cebu City and about an hour away from the typical tourist attractions in Moalboal (hence 4 stars for location). They provide basic soap and shampoo so I’d suggest bringing your own toiletries. It’s better for the environment!

This hotel evaluation is relatively small, specifically, let everyone refer to it. I placed the order in April, and traveled at the end of July. When I arrived at the hotel, I said that I didn't have my order. I was so nervous. I don't know if it is Ctrip or a hotel problem. However, when I sent a message to Ctrip, the processing speed was really fast. Soon the hotel owner received a Ctrip phone call and coordinated the arrangement. We booked two villas for a total of three nights. On the last night, when the villa was full, we arranged four other rooms for us. The villa we live in for eight people is OK, there is a refrigerator, there are two rooms on the ground floor, one bed for two meters, one bed for five meters, all with bathroom. The living room was not air-conditioned and it started to be hot. Later, the room on the bottom floor was opened, letting the air conditioner out there, it was all right, not too hot. On the second floor, there are two stairs to each room, one has a large bed, and the other has a bed of five meters and two meters. The room is large, the hangers are more, and the living is more comfortable. It is best to bring your own rope to the balcony to dry your clothes. There is a swimming pool in the villa area, and the children are very happy to go swimming every night. The villa is not in the same place as the suite. It is a few hundred meters apart. The villa is closer to the sea. The back door is the seaside. In the area where the sardines storm, walk to the left for five or six minutes on the back door. I have been to Mobao twice, once in February, when the sea was relatively calm, and the tide did not rise at 5 or 6 in the morning. This July, the waves were very big, and I almost never saw the shoal exposed in the morning. But it does not affect the experience of deep dive. Snorkeling is too much. The hotel owner is Chinese, and the people are really good. I booked another villa. When I originally booked, I wrote two rooms, each with a 2 meter bed. But at the time I saw that there was a bed that was very small. Later the boss changed to another villa. Opposite ours. After the change, the living room has air conditioning, but the decoration is not so luxurious. After the change, the first floor of the room, one meter five. A double bed room on the second floor on the stairs. On the other side, two small rooms, one meter and two beds, one meter and five beds, shared bathroom. For large families, booking a villa is better. On the other side of the villa, breakfast only has toast, eggs, luncheon meat, coffee, and you can eat it yourself. Will be sent to the villa. On the other side of the small suite, there is a restaurant, breakfast can also choose noodles or powder.

Suitable for people who like to be quiet, go out and snorkel in a few steps, if you are lucky, you can see turtles. Eating out is not very convenient, you can eat at their home, choose Filipino meals, it is not bad, the price is also appropriate. We were there with my daughter just for some days and spent to receive PADIS diving certification due to the coach Lin and Head of diving center John, see the Mallball paintful food market and see the local life in seaside. The seawater is clear like glass, plenty of sealife under the leg even close to the beach, awesome surrounding - mountains, tropical vegetation and fancy restaurants and hotels along the beach and of course local boats looking rustic and gorgeous. The food was delicious, staff was friendly. Everything was the best!

The resort is very peaceful, and the rooms are very neat. It also overlooking the sea, and they also have kayaking and scuba-diving services in-house. The place is also only 10 minutes away by bike to the Panagsama beach, and they charge reasonable price to travel there. The breakfast was okay too. The staff there were very friendly and patient in helping us with whatever we requested. One thing to note is that the front office closes at 10pm, so it's annoying when you need their help such as exchanging notes after their opening hours. Nearby areas are mostly other results and hotels so nothing much to see nearby the place, and the road to the resort from the beach or city center is also very dark, so it's recommended to hire a bike or tuk tuk if you're returning at night as you may not clearly see the roads.

To be honest, we didn't get a chance to check out the pool or the beach. Breakfasts were just okay. The shower had hot water, and although only five streams came out of the showerhead, it was still possible to wash up.

The environment here is pretty good for the area, and the front desk staff, especially the female attendant, was nice. What I found a bit odd was when I checked in, the front desk told me the room I booked was for adults only and children weren't allowed. I asked why, and they said it was because they were worried my seven-year-old would be too noisy. After some discussion, they eventually let me check in. Later that evening, the music and bass from nearby bars were incredibly loud, going on past 10 PM. There were also some Caucasians yelling loudly by the pool. On top of that, the hotel's parrots started squawking early in the morning. Honestly, any of these noises were ten times louder than anything a child would say. I’d suggest the hotel not differentiate between adults and children but instead enforce a consistent noise policy for everyone.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at the Blue Orchid, and it truly exceeded our expectations in every way. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a  view of the ocean over the treetops. It felt peaceful and private — exactly the atmosphere we were hoping for. The staff were exceptional — so friendly, kind, and accommodating. They helped me plan a surprise proposal for my fiancé, offering suggestions for the perfect location and ultimately arranging for us to use their private rooftop. They also coordinated a romantic dinner there just for us, ensuring we had complete privacy. It was an unforgettable evening, and I’m so grateful for the care they put into making it so special. The resort arranged our transportation both from our previous hotel in Mactan and later to Cebu Pier 1, which made travel stress-free. We also booked canyoneering and an introductory scuba dive through them. The instructors were fantastic — very patient and reassuring, especially when I became nervous underwater and couldn’t finish the dive. While the resort is a bit removed from the busier Panagsama Beach area, that was a huge plus for us. We wanted somewhere quiet, scenic, and romantic, and Blue Orchid delivered exactly that. The restaurant doesn’t have a massive menu, but the food was consistently delicious, portions were perfect, and prices were very fair. Even though there wasn’t a kettle in the room, hot water, coffee and tea was readily available and it was never an inconvenience since everything was close by. We also appreciated the mosquito net over the bed — it added to the tropical charm, though we didn’t need it because insects were never an issue. We even spotted a tiny gecko in our room upon arrival, but it was harmless and quickly disappeared — just part of the island’s character! Overall, the Blue Orchid was everything we hoped for: quiet, romantic, and welcoming. The staff helped make one of the most meaningful moments of our lives absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend it, especially to LGBTQ+ travelers looking for a peaceful and genuinely inclusive place to stay in Moalboal. When we do a return trip to the area, we will stay here again.

To be honest the service was good but when we went the pool was out of use the whole time, in the room there isn’t even a kettle for hot water. Nobody comes to clean the room, no duvet and we saw many hotels that were closer to the main area that are much more modern, there is so much noise from the chickens, cats, dogs and whatever animals are near by at 5am, this was a natural alarm and for someone who didn’t want to wake up early it was worse then my Apple alarm going off reminding me to get to work😂. however the staff are extremely nice. friendly.

Great place to be. Amazing beach that’s called the Mushroom rocks. You can observe it during the stay. Amazing view from the beach or from the rooftop bar where you can see the other island, sea in all of its beauty. Aaaand don’t miss a chance to observe the stars out of terrace. It’s amaaaaaazing. Restaurant’s right on reception. The food is tasty, especially we liked spring rolls and Wild Orchid omelet. You can chose any table you like (right in front of the beach, on a cafe territory, the rooftop bar or the number balcony. Pool on common territory is wonderful. Clean, different depth, instagramly. But the best thing, there are no people or maybe few. Nice staff on reception and kitchen. Clear, comfortable room. Nice place to come back!

If you love privacy, this hotel is for you. Pros: A quiet fishing beach 100 meters away with soft sand. Almost like Boracay Island. However, of course, there's no infrastructure and it's cluttered with boats. The water is clean, you can swim, and there aren't many people there, though a turtle occasionally swims by. There's a swimming pool. Pleasant common area. Cons: No closet in the room. Packing is difficult. No refrigerator or kettle. The main street with restaurants and other activities is 1.5 km away. A bike is a must if you plan to go out often.

These are houses in the garden. Literally. Just plywood houses covered with straw, inside there is a kind of plywood closet, a table and two beds. A big plus is a small veranda and a bamboo bench on it. It feels like you are relaxing at a base in a plywood house. The floor is wooden with cracks between the boards. A crowd of ants is constantly running somewhere. The local owner's dog Kabi comes with him two bald friends (most dogs in the Philippines are covered in ringworm - do not touch them with your hands). We asked the owner for plates and a knife (to cut mango). They also showed us where the cooler is, from which only hot water flows. Pros - quite close to the sea and other bars, we walked around in bathing suits so as not to change. There is a cafe right opposite the houses, you can probably have breakfast there. Cons - everything is quite ascetic (to put it mildly). In the mornings roosters and some other birds are crowing, the windows do not protect from the noise. (And there are no windows! This is another joke - there are glass blinds instead). Accordingly, all the noise from the bars, and there is always someone howling karaoke - is yours. If you came to have a fun company, then it is quite suitable. To relax with a family and a child - well, so-so... it is better to look at something else.

The hotel is ideally located, the exit right at the sea and the diversity of the underwater world. Everything is clean and beautiful. Food and service at the height. Water drinking is unlimited. The place is quiet and quiet. All the infrastructure is next to you. Nearby dive centers where you can both learn and get a certificate and just take dive escort. I definitely recommend this hotel! I arrived at 11 o'clock in the evening, and the taxi driver asked the way a few times. If you arrive during the day, you can take a tutu car for 150 pesos from the bus station to the hotel, or you can find it. There is an illy coffee shop at the corner. The room is very clean and idyllic. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the White Beach, and the price/performance ratio is about the same. Because we changed the hotel by the beach the next night, it cost more than 400 yuan, the room was not as comfortable as his.

My boyfriend and I spent one week in Kasai village. It’s already been 7 months since we are back home but the hotel is worth receiving the review even after that amount of time. After a loving welcome on our first evening we decided to sign up for an open water diving course, which turned out to be the best decision. Since it was the beginning of the season the hotel was still quite empty and the two of us enjoyed a private course. Our diving instructor Tata was very experienced and highly skilled which made us feel safe at all times during the course. He made the theoretical lessons really interesting which made us eager to learn everything for our final test - which we in the end passed with good results ;) On our last day we wanted to show off our diving skills and booked a trip to see the whale sharks. After asking, Tata even agreed to be our private guide for the day! Thanks for that! We want to highlight especially the lovely restaurant-team. The staff was incredibly friendly and always asked us about our day without being annoying at any time. Our special thanks goes to Maccoy and Ranessa (I apologise for the bad spelling 😋) which almost made us feel part of the family. The resort itself is I credibly beautiful, right by the sea and a big outdoor pool area. Apart from that we enjoyed delicious local meals in the hotel restaurant. We highly recommend Kasai village for divers, wanting-to-be-divers but also for travellers that just want to enjoy the beauty of Cebu Island. Thanks to the whole team for a great experience that we will keep in mind for a long time!

The hotel is located far from the Moalbola civilization, but it is easy to get to the bike everywhere, so it is even plus. Very quiet, beautiful area of the hotel, a water exit (though there is no beach) and very beautiful sunsets you look without people in full loneliness and calmness! Nearby is the famous White Beach, but it didn't impress us. And here to go to the beach with sardinals - necessarily! It is incredible emotions, though to organize tourism flow and services on this beach we have big questions. As for the hotel - wifi is weak and the room did not work, staff is not helpful, not attentive to the guests, the prices in their restaurant are very overstated, the room has no teapot, no refrigerator, no shampoo, no shower gel. But at least it was clean.

This place is okay for couples, but be prepared for basic, spartan conditions – keep your room expectations at zero. I stayed here for 5 days, but we were out and about from the morning, only returning to change or sleep. You can work with a laptop downstairs, but it's outdoors and hot. It really makes sense to stay here if you love diving and freediving, as they have their own beach access. Breakfasts are standard, basic fare, like eggs, sausages, and something local, just like at home. They have excellent freediving instructors. The view from the balcony is gorgeous.

Location: Not particularly convenient. It's about a 3–5 km tricycle ride from the bus stop, and the road near the hotel is unpaved and very bumpy. Cleanliness: Pretty clean. I was worried there would be a lot of mosquitoes and bugs, but during the actual stay, it was totally fine. Environment/Surroundings: Very noisy. There was karaoke going on somewhere nearby until midnight, plus constant barking and roosters crowing. However, since I had to wake up early every day for diving and canyoneering and came back exhausted, I actually got used to it. By the last night, I didn't even need earplugs to sleep well. Breakfast: A bit simple and repetitive, but decent enough. Adding breakfast separately costs a little over 200 PHP per serving. Facilities: No air conditioning, just a ceiling/standing fan, but it didn't feel hot at all—it kind of gave me a nostalgic, childhood vibe. Service: Overall, I really liked it. While the drawbacks are quite obvious, they were all manageable for me. If you enjoy getting back to nature, this is a great choice.

The location is a little remote, but unfortunately next to a chicken farm. More or less all day, especially in the morning, there is a very noisy chicken alarm. I stayed in a bungalow and it is so cute. I loved the open bathroom. Very simple. From the bathroom it is opened to outside and sadly didn’t have a lock for bathroom from inside to lock when you want to close door and it is bit security concerned, but the staff said there are many cameras in the hostel and there was no incident had happened in the history. My stay was very nice. Staff is very kind and friendly also helpful. I extended my stay there as a solo traveler, it is very easy to go to beach and do diving also it is located in restaurant area. Simply very good and probably if I come back I will book the same Bungalow again.

Excellent and amazingly comfortable! The hotel owner, Franco, organized everything in the best family traditions. The hotel is ideally located, the exit right at the sea and the diversity of the underwater world. Everything is clean and beautiful. Food and service at the height. Water drinking is unlimited. The place is quiet and quiet. All the infrastructure is next to you. Nearby dive centers where you can both learn and get a certificate and just take dive escort. I definitely recommend this hotel! Senor Franco rerespecto ❤️

When we arrived, there was a group of ants having a meeting in the restroom. I’m not sure what the sticky-looking liquid they were investigating was. There were also ants on the door and in the bed. There was no tissue in the room as well. However, the housekeeping staff took action immediately after we called. I just hope they can improve their preparation and inspection of the room before guests arrive. The air conditioner was also not cold. On the positive side, the food was unexpectedly delicious. It was served in our room, and to my surprise, we were allowed to eat inside the room. Perhaps this was also one of the reasons why there were ants around. The service and generosity of the staff were extremely good. Overall, despite the issues, our stay was still good.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely had a great time. We originally came to Moalboal to experience Kawasan Canyoneering, and we were lucky because B’lu Bamboo is within the area where our canyoneering organizer offered free pick-up and drop-off. The location is really convenient. It’s close to White Beach and Lambug Beach, and the famous Sardine Run is also nearby. Osmeña Peak is around an hour away, and even Oslob is only about 2 hours away if you want to do a day trip. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, so getting food or anything you need is easy. Eda was wonderful and very accommodating throughout our stay. And if you want breakfast, honestly look no further — Eda makes the best breakfast in Moalboal! They also rent motorcycles for an additional fee, which made it much easier for us to explore the area. We’re really glad we picked B’lu Bamboo and would definitely stay here again when we return to Moalboal. Highly recommended!

I had a great stay at Sisters Inn in panagsama Beach, Moalboal. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. I mentioned that I was leaving a day early and wanted to move to an air-conditioned room, and they very generously swapped me over without charging the usual extra fee for the upgrade. There's a cute little restaurant downstairs (as shown in my photos), although I didn't actually get a chance to try the food. One thing I really appreciated was the fridge downstairs stocked with water and soft drinks available to purchase 24 hours a day—very handy when you come back after a few drinks and need some hydration before bed! The location is excellent: close enough to everything in Panagsama Beach, but much quieter than many of the other places nearby. I slept really well and wasn't woken up by hens crowing or dogs barking in the morning, which seems to be a rarity in some parts of the area. Overall, a comfortable, well-located place with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again.

We were there with my daughter just for some days and spent to receive PADIS diving certification due to the coach Lin and Head of diving center John, see the Mallball paintful food market and see the local life in seaside. The seawater is clear like glass, plenty of sealife under the leg even close to the beach, awesome surrounding - mountains, tropical vegetation and fancy restaurants and hotels along the beach and of course local boats looking rustic and gorgeous. The food was delicious, staff was friendly. Everything was the best!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It boasts a fantastic beachfront location, and the main street is within easy walking distance. We stayed in a room on the second floor above the diving center. It was a bit noisy at night, as if cars were constantly coming and going right outside our window. Perhaps a room by the pool would be quieter, though kids might be loud there during the day, which could also be noisy since we like to relax during the day… I’m not sure. We ate at the hotel restaurant once, and it was quite tasty, but we didn't like the coffee. We ordered breakfast to go twice, and I highly recommend the Club sandwich – it's absolutely amazing! I used the rental services; we rented a kayak and fins (we had our own mask, but masks and snorkels can also be rented, as can life vests). The pools are tiny; I only took photos in one. During our stay in June 2026, the building directly on the beach was undergoing renovations. I imagine it will look absolutely beautiful once it's finished. There were no Russians at our hotel at all, but lots of Chinese and Koreans. We took water from the dispenser at reception for our kettle, which was a great convenience. I remember Crystal at the front desk, and I wish her all the best! Initially, we went swimming to the right, towards the Chili Bar, because the reef seemed closer to shore there. But then I realized it was very comfortable right here at our hotel beach, it was free, and local children didn't bother us trying to sell beads. During our visit, it was jellyfish season, and there was a lifeguard on our beach who treated us with vinegar. Overall, the reef near the hotel beach is quite good; swim to the right towards the Chili Bar. On our last day, I swam for over an hour, but definitely bring fins. By the way, the sardine run extends all the way to us here! I also want to mention that the hotel’s location is quite far from 7/11 and McDonald's. It took us an hour to walk there, and then we took a tricycle back for 300 pesos. We didn't book the hotel transfer, as it seemed expensive; in the end, we paid 2500 for a transfer from Travel Frog. We also booked an excursion on the street. Our room was spacious but a bit uncomfortable. To the owners: the connecting door in room 205 is inconvenient; it was noisy because of our neighbors. Also, there were no slippers.

Absolutely loved our stay here. It’s right next to the beach, has its own lovely pool, restaurant, and treehouse. It’s the perfect place to stay in if you just want to relax and unwind, it’s only 8mins away from the “center” where the bars and restaurants are. The road going here is a bit tricky— it’s a narrow, dirt road and is in a remote area but it’s not a dealbreaker. Would definitely stay here again.

I went canyoneering in Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines, and overall it was pretty good. We left Manila at noon, then had to fly to Cebu and take a bus to Moalboal. The journey was quite long and winding, but we finally arrived after 11 PM. Someone helped me open the door, and there was a security guard at the entrance. The security guard even brought my suitcase to my room. All in all, it was a good experience.
