Right at Nagano Station! There's a connecting passage on the second floor of the hotel that leads directly to Nagano Station. The location is excellent! The hotel has a luxurious feel, reminiscent of an economic boom. The room was standard, quite spacious. The facilities weren't brand new, but they weren't uncomfortably old either. The room was generally clean and comfortable. The hotel breakfast was decent, with a good variety of options. If you plan to spend your days exploring the mountains and returning on the same day without staying overnight, this hotel is highly recommended!

The hotel is located about 10-15mins walk from Nagano station and is easily navigated using google map. Hotel provide luggage forwarding service and luggage deposit after checkout. Amenities are not provided in the room but upon check in, hotel staff will inform you to pick what you need from the area at the hotel lobby. It can also be picked up at anytime of the day. The lobby also have a coffee machine serving hot chocolate and coffee throughout the day. Pastry are provided at certain hour as well. One time free Sake tasting per guest where you need to pick up special coin from the hotel staff. Rooms are clean and quite spacious.

Location of hotel is great! It’s very near the station and there are many shops and eateries around. They serve apple juice at the lobby. I hesitated to book because it was more expensive than other the average cost of other Dormy Inns / Onyado(s) I had stayed at. It was also more expensive than multiple other hotels within the vicinity. When we stayed there, it appeared like off peak season with not many patrons but breakfast was packed with people. Staff ushering patrons to tables was most courteous and although she could not speak English, she tried her best to understand our request (for 5 pple to sit together) and did her best to make the arrangements for us. Quality of food here is much better than Onyado Nono Matsumoto. Beef was cooked well. This season, their welcome dessert is a slice of Banana cake which was yummy. Room/amenities are abit dated and if I remember correctly…. The TV in the room doesn’t have Netflix nor YouTube but I could be wrong. If the prices can remain reasonable, I’ll stay there when I revisit Nagano.

First of all, the two staff at the check-in counter showed a very strong sense of job burnout on their faces, and the whole check-in process was not very pleasant. However, the next morning during check-out, the ladies at the counter were very professional and everything felt fine. After entering the room, I found it to be very stuffy and hot. When I turned on the air conditioning, it was only heating. Since the weather outside was quite cool, I understand that the system is centrally controlled and set to heating. I then tried opening the window, but it could only be opened a small amount. For some reason, no fresh air was coming in, and the room still felt very stuffy. Later, I went down to the counter (again, the same two male staff from check-in) to ask if the air conditioning could be switched to cooling, but my request was rejected. I then asked if it was possible to borrow a fan, and they refused again with a very impatient attitude. Overall, the stay was not a very good experience. The room itself was actually fine, but it was too stuffy. I hope this review can be helpful to others.

The location is a huge plus, right opposite Nagano Station's Zenkoji Exit. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft, so I slept really well. My only minor gripe is that the AC vent was directly over the bed, and the airflow was strong and hard to adjust. It made my trip very convenient, definitely recommend it.

I absolutely, absolutely, absolutely loved this hotel! First off, the location is unbeatable – it's right in the building opposite Nagano Station, literally a one or two-minute walk away. This makes catching trains, buses, and everything else super convenient. There's a Lawson convenience store on the first floor, and plenty of restaurants nearby, so the location couldn't be better. Next, the hotel room itself was a good size; I could fully open my suitcase, and the environment was very clean. I especially loved the window view from the room – you could see the surrounding mountains, and even get a glimpse of Zenko-ji Temple and its approach road from a distance. Finally, the hotel staff were incredibly enthusiastic. Even when checking in via machine, the front desk staff would always come over to help, and they'd always greet you warmly when you came and went. Definitely a top-notch experience! Nagano really is a beautiful small city; it must be even more stunning in winter. I'll definitely be back next winter and will book this hotel again. See you next time!

Stayed here several times before, and this visit felt noticeably different. One positive change is that the lounge has been relocated from the lobby to the third floor, making the space feel much more open and comfortable, without guests having to crowd together. However, the shortened meal service times were disappointing. Reducing breakfast hours is understandable, but shortening dinner service by an additional 30 minutes to only 90 minutes made the experience feel rushed. Given the size of the dining area and the number of guests, collecting food itself takes time. More importantly, one of the reasons people choose to visit Nagano is to enjoy a slower and more relaxed atmosphere. With only 90 minutes allocated for dinner, there is hardly enough time to comfortably enjoy the meal itself, let alone finish with coffee and dessert. I understand that rising operating costs may require adjustments, and I appreciate the hotel’s efforts to manage within budget. However, as group tourism increases, maintaining the experience expected by individual travelers becomes increasingly important. Unfortunately, this time it felt that both the dining quality and the dining time had been reduced simultaneously, and the decline in quality was noticeable. Overall, I still appreciate the improvements to the common areas, but I hope the hotel can reconsider how to balance operational efficiency with the quality of the guest experience.

The location is also super convenient (there's a great ramen place in the next building). You'll even find some retro features, like a two-handle faucet and an old TV – very authentic. My only minor complaint is that I couldn't get the air conditioning to cool, only to heat.

1️⃣ Facilities: The room was surprisingly spacious (though I was a bit tipsy when I checked in, so I'm not entirely sure – maybe I got an upgrade? I don't know). It had a washing machine, an induction cooktop, and a microwave. It was like a whole suite. 2️⃣ Location: It's south of Nagano Station, not too far. I took the JR from Matsumoto to Nagano, and after drinking, I dozed off on the JR platform for half an hour, but still managed to walk to the hotel. 3️⃣ Onsen: I was too drunk to use the hot spring when I checked in. The next morning, I was rushing to get to Togakushi, so I missed out again. Thinking about it now, what a waste! But I did see a sign for the bathhouse in the elevator.

Due to an older building, the corridor location wall has moldy appearance. The room is relatively clean, and I feel that the room is more hygienic than the corridor. The location is just in the mountains, and it feels a bit far from driving. In terms of service, as soon as you arrive, check in, there are staff to explain the hotel facilities, take you to visit, take you to the room. I have a special dinner for this order, there is a special person to hold the meal and explain, there is a room to sit, a big room, a quiet room. Breakfast will be eaten in the lobby of a restaurant, and there are special people to explain. 2 meals are full and taste medium.

I used hot springs late at night, but I responded politely at midnight! Since I live in the city, it was the first time for the Yakimochi family to see nebula like the Milky Way with the naked eye, and I was impressed with all my friends who stayed there ...! (The photos taken with an amateur smartphone camera are so much more reflective of nebula ... !!) I saw a signboard of the mountains on the way to the Yakimochiya, so I thought it was a land with the legend of the mountains. However, there was a legendary book of the land and the mountain in the room, and I felt the attitude of cherishing the legend and culture of the region, and I was very impressed by myself who liked legends. When Abu got into the car on my way home and I was in a big panic, I was really grateful that the nice staff found Abu with great insight and drove me out with an electric racket. It was. It was really helpful. I don't usually do much kuchikomi, but I wrote it because it was a very nice inn. I want to go play again. Recommended for those who want to spend a relaxing time in the quiet mountains and see the starry sky that appears in the picture book! Thank you very much!

We booked the Shinyi room.

Matsuya Ryokan is located inside the Niomon Gate of Zenko-ji Temple. It has an excellent geographical location and is just a few steps from Zenko-ji Temple. The front of the hotel is small, but the inside is a different world, very deep and open. The room we stayed in was half Japanese and half Western. When we opened the window, we could see the statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and the street scene along the street. The hotel has a hot spring bath and a Japanese restaurant. The food is very delicious and full. The proprietress is kind and the waiters are polite. It is very comfortable and cozy. It is said that this traditional inn has been run by the Suzuki family for six generations. It is very historical. When traveling to Japan, you should stay in this traditional inn to experience it. Although the price is a bit expensive, it is really worth the money.

This place is ~5mins walk from Zenkoji temple. neighborhood is peaceful at night. Shoes to be removed outside the accommodation. Rooms are on the 2nd floor so you'll have to carry your luggage up (there's no lift). Room (with window) is huge. You'll have to head downstairs to use the shared toilet and shared onsen (no toilet inside the room). We were only allowed 30mins of onsen time for 2 pax - couples weren't allowed to use the onsen concurrently so we had to go one after another (i'm not sure if the instructions got lost in translation..). Felt very rushed so i didnt really get to enjoy the onsen experience, but overall was nice and clean. Interesting 6.30am tour around the area and within the temple itself, followed by a simple vegetarian breakfast (porridge with omakase-styled sides with miso soup) back at the accommodation. The morning tour lasted from 6.30am - 8.30am. The accommodation provided a fleece blanket to each pax to bring to Zenkoji temple to keep us warm during the morning praying ceremony. We went on 30 Dec and it was SO COLD. Overall interesting experience but accommodation price is pretty steep IMO.

The only downside was that, as is typical of Route Inn hotels, the large public onsen (hot spring bath) only had a men's bath, no women's. My wife and two daughters were very unhappy, feeling it was blatant gender discrimination.

It was also close to zenko Ji Temple at this price and was saved because I was able to check in late. I think it was about 10 minutes walk to zenko Ji Temple. I went in the middle of the night and in the morning, but I can go back and forth without stress. I walked from Nagano station to the inn, but I could walk without any pain. It is convenient because there is a 24-hour seven eleven in front of you across the road. There were two shower booths and we were able to enter at the same time as our friends who stayed together. There are not many toilets and washbasins, but there is no problem. I thought that the overseas elements were fashionably scattered in the bar area and the joint area, and I wanted to go abroad again early. It is a good inn with high eco consciousness that can collect and donate the case of disposable contact lens. The joint refrigerator was not available for infection control, but it was not a problem if it was as climate as it is now. It is also a good inn to stay in accordance with the opening of the next zenko Ji Temple.

This established luxury hotel definitely lives up to its reputation. They even provide a shuttle service to Nagano Station every half hour, which is only a 15-minute ride away. The room was quite spacious and thoughtfully arranged. I particularly liked the long table right inside the entrance – it was perfect for placing items I needed to take with me when leaving, so I wouldn't forget them. The breakfast, however, was just average in terms of value for money. They didn't even have Shinshu beef. For the same price, I've had much more extensive breakfast buffets at similar hotels.

Staff ushering patrons to tables was most courteous and although she could not speak English, she tried her best to understand our request (for 5 pple to sit together) and did her best to make the arrangements for us. Quality of food here is much better than Onyado Nono Matsumoto. Beef was cooked well. This season, their welcome dessert is a slice of Banana cake which was yummy. Room/amenities are abit dated and if I remember correctly…. The TV in the room doesn’t have Netflix nor YouTube but I could be wrong. If the prices can remain reasonable, I’ll stay there when I revisit Nagano.

The location is a huge plus, right opposite Nagano Station's Zenkoji Exit. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft, so I slept really well. My only minor gripe is that the AC vent was directly over the bed, and the airflow was strong and hard to adjust. It made my trip very convenient, definitely recommend it.

Right at Nagano Station! There's a connecting passage on the second floor of the hotel that leads directly to Nagano Station. The location is excellent! The hotel has a luxurious feel, reminiscent of an economic boom. The room was standard, quite spacious. The facilities weren't brand new, but they weren't uncomfortably old either. The room was generally clean and comfortable. The hotel breakfast was decent, with a good variety of options. If you plan to spend your days exploring the mountains and returning on the same day without staying overnight, this hotel is highly recommended!

The hotel's location was easy enough to find, about an 8-minute walk away. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived, afternoon tea was over, so I missed out on the complimentary cake they offer guests. However, their ice cream is free and unlimited, so I sat down and had three scoops before heading to my room. The room size was adequate; I had no problem opening a suitcase. Afterwards, I went to their public bath, but it was a bit small and lacked any unique features. The sleep quality was pretty good though. The next morning, their breakfast was quite substantial, with cakes being rotated, and I had several pieces. Overall, I feel like I'd consider coming back.

First of all, the two staff at the check-in counter showed a very strong sense of job burnout on their faces, and the whole check-in process was not very pleasant. However, the next morning during check-out, the ladies at the counter were very professional and everything felt fine. After entering the room, I found it to be very stuffy and hot. When I turned on the air conditioning, it was only heating. Since the weather outside was quite cool, I understand that the system is centrally controlled and set to heating. I then tried opening the window, but it could only be opened a small amount. For some reason, no fresh air was coming in, and the room still felt very stuffy. Later, I went down to the counter (again, the same two male staff from check-in) to ask if the air conditioning could be switched to cooling, but my request was rejected. I then asked if it was possible to borrow a fan, and they refused again with a very impatient attitude. Overall, the stay was not a very good experience. The room itself was actually fine, but it was too stuffy. I hope this review can be helpful to others.

It was very good to feel calm in an old-fashioned inn. The bath was comfortable and the woman who responded was very kind and nice. The futon was thin and my back hurt, so I woke up many times, but I was very satisfied.

The hotel is a bit old and the room had a slight odor, but the cleanliness was good. It's right across from Nagano Station, which is super convenient for dining and buying souvenirs. There are also plenty of paid parking lots nearby.

This established luxury hotel definitely lives up to its reputation. They even provide a shuttle service to Nagano Station every half hour, which is only a 15-minute ride away. The room was quite spacious and thoughtfully arranged. I particularly liked the long table right inside the entrance – it was perfect for placing items I needed to take with me when leaving, so I wouldn't forget them. The breakfast, however, was just average in terms of value for money. They didn't even have Shinshu beef. For the same price, I've had much more extensive breakfast buffets at similar hotels.

I had a problem with the recording and a gentleman came to solve it super quickly ! The rooms are very comfortable and comfortable, the familymart is 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
