I was traveling solo and on a budget, so I chose Dayin Youth Hostel. After my stay, I found it to be affordable and great value for money, perfectly meeting my needs. First off: the location is excellent, with convenient transportation. Dayin is less than 200 meters from Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and about 300 meters from People's Square Metro Station. It's also very close to major attractions, usually just 2 or 3 metro stops away, which is incredibly convenient! The room environment was quite clean. The sheets and duvet covers were individually packaged, clean, and ironed. Although I had to make the bed myself, which was a little extra work, it gave me peace of mind. Upon check-in, you receive disposable sheets and slippers. The room comes with a lockable locker, which is a huge plus, and the bed curtain provides excellent blackout, ensuring great privacy! The common areas are spacious and well-equipped. The public restrooms and shower rooms are well-maintained. The makeup mirror in the public restroom is large, and the toilets and showers are separate, with plenty of stalls, so waiting is rarely an issue.

Location: Few minutes walk to people square subway and nanjing pedestrian shopping street. Many restaurants and malls nearby. Near Huanghe food street, near new world mall which has a large food court, across from that is another mall with more food options. There is also a convenience store on first floor that sells drinks. Service: Similiar to an airbnb. No lobby but Hotel staff responds quickly and asks if you want room cleaned and toiletries resupplied. They are very easy to communicate with. They provide 2 packs of disposable towels a day which are quite good. Amenities: Bed was comfortable and clean. Airconditioning works well. Washing machine can both wash and dry. Shower pressure and temperature was very good and washroom has advanced built in dehumidifier and exhaust features. Sink in washroom was too small, but kitchen sink was large and very useable. Large refridgerator provided. No kitchen utensils. Tv projector didn’t work well. Not enough places to hang clothes in washroom. Toilet is electronic but has no bidet. No smell of smoke anywhere except first floor. When checking in just directly message the hotel and ask what floor to go and ignore the three smoking security guards on the ground floor if you can’t speak chinese. Location on amaps is easily searchable as MSG hotel. Building looks a bit dated outside and unlike a hotel, but there are multiple luxury cars parked right at the main entrance and in the area, so the place is very quiet but not shady looking. Overall had a good experience and would definitely stay again.

Just a hostel. We were there for one day without an overnight stay, because we had to wait for the plane for 10 hours, we took the room to leave things, and this is for the better. You have to be prepared for a very budget placement. There is dirt, towels with holes, dust everywhere, it is very strange even if the furniture is not fresh, you can just get out and provide fresh bed and towels without holes and stains?! For very very budget tourists is suitable

The host was very responsive, helpful on the check in procedure. They required us to register to the authority, everything follow procedures. Willing to help me to receive my taobao items which I ordered before I reach was an added point. The home design was luxurious and really spacious. During our summer stay, the hosts prepared extra bundle of drinking water and more than sufficient of toiletries. Aircon, washes are functioning well, except we dunno how to operate the water heater. The host was patiently guide us on how to switch on the water heater controller. Very strategic location, near people square station and nanjing east station with walking distance. Easily can walk to nanjing pedestrian street and the bund. Downstairs is full of restaurant food, and a convenient stall. Pleasant stay

I had a question about passport registration, which they also handled smoothly via WeChat. It's within walking distance of Shinsegae Department Store. I requested a microwave because I was planning to eat rice, and they provided one. Taxi access was no problem.

I was completely satisfied with my stay at this B&B! The value for money was exceptional, and the location was superb. Getting around was very convenient. Eating, shopping, and everything else were all nearby, so I barely had to go far. It was so convenient! The room was clean and tidy, and the cleaning lady was incredibly helpful. She was quick to assist with anything I needed, such as refilling water, changing towels, and extending my stay. Service apartment is beautiful. Location is just 7-8min walking from Nanjing street and 15-20min to the Bund. Everything was cosy and good, it is like apartment you would live. It have everything, laundry machine, full kitchen equipment and it is surrounded with many nice restaurants, so you can order food or go there to eat. Excellent location, around a 10min walk to Nanjing East Road! There is a minimart downstairs too if you need any drinks or snacks. The view from the room was superb, and it was a very comfortable stay for 2 people! Highly appreciated the fact that there was a lot of space! Vivien, the staff who checked us in, was super friendly and responsible. She went the extra mile by sending us food recommendations and helping us with our packages from Taobao. He also had a handwritten guide to Shanghai. Although some of the places weren't ideal for us, their thoughtfulness was evident. 💡[A little surprise from the B&B] The host sent us the house rules in advance and explained in detail how to check in. A perfect score for him. We thought we'd only have two beds and were planning to sleep on the floor, but the host told us there was a sofa bed, which he immediately sent over and made up. I was so touched. 📍[About the convenience] The location is excellent, close to Joy City, making it very convenient for dining, shopping, and more. The community is very upscale, which greatly enhanced our experience. Chinese people don't cheat on Chinese people, so hurry up and get it. 🛏[I have to mention the amenities] Everything is fully equipped, even a garment steamer. Daily necessities are also very well stocked, and the cabinets are stocked with various supplies. Overall, it was a good experience, but the price was a bit high. Cleanliness: They clean daily, and the common areas generally look clean, though the place is a bit old and showing its age. However, there were black marks on the sheets, so they really need to be more careful with their cleanliness checks! Service and Facilities: You have to change your own bed sheets and duvet covers, which really detracts from the stay experience! The bed frame also creaks a lot, making me worried about disturbing others if I got up early. The hallway space is quite narrow. For tourists, this location is absolutely prime! 🏠 **Accommodation Experience Exceeded Expectations!** Even though it's a hostel, the cleanliness is truly top-notch! Both the common areas and the rooms are meticulously cleaned, and the bedding is neat and soft. I stayed in a dorm room, and each bed had a curtain for great privacy, plus an individual reading light, power outlets, and a locker. The design is very user-friendly. There was also plenty of hot water, which was super comfortable for washing away the day's fatigue. ✨ **Fantastic Atmosphere!** This is the most 'home-like' hostel I've ever stayed in. The front desk guys and girls are all super nice, enthusiastic, and patient. They'll recommend plenty of authentic local eateries and activities that only locals would know. In the evenings, a comforting goodnight tea, accompanied by soft lighting, gently relaxed our tired bodies and minds. The abundant breakfast each morning felt like a true gift from nature. Even the stylish shower curtain in the bathroom, simple yet elegant, was perfectly charming and thoughtful. Despite being embraced by a natural ecosystem where 'little creatures' might be expected, the guesthouse environment was exceptionally well-maintained. We didn't find a single mosquito or insect in our room, which is truly remarkable for such a natural setting. My child was particularly captivated by the little frogs, who merrily hopped along the path to the pool and around the courtyard. Peering out the window, their eyes sparkled with a pure, unadulterated love for nature. In that moment, I felt like I was looking at my younger self, brimming with a desire to explore the world. On our second day, my brother decided to make pizza in the guesthouse kitchen. What started as a playful experiment turned into an astonishing culinary success! The pizza was incredibly delicious; even my brother, who usually shies away from pizza, couldn't stop at three slices! It wasn't just good because he made it; it was genuinely fantastic. And despite being an amateur effort, it was absolutely authentic. The owner had been burning lychee wood charcoal, specially transported from Guangzhou, since early morning. Paired with the kitchen's homemade tomato and onion sauce, the aroma was simply irresistible, making our mouths water. I am determined to visit this guesthouse in all four seasons to fully appreciate its distinct charm throughout the year. In spring, it might be adorned with wildflowers, the air heavy with the scent of damp earth. Summer would offer lush shade and the soothing symphony of cicadas, an ideal escape from the heat. Autumn would transform the paths into a golden tapestry of fallen leaves, like a scene from a fairytale. And in winter, perhaps blanketed in snow, it would resemble a tranquil ink wash painting. Regardless of the season, this place is destined to be a sanctuary for the soul.

The lady boss was very attentive and thoughtful. As soon as we arrived at the store, she turned on the air conditioner for us and plugged in the electric mosquito coils. The room was also very clean and comfortable. We had towels, slippers, toothbrushes, water cups, shower gel and shampoo. We booked two rooms. The rooms on the first floor, one is a suite and the other is a double bed room with a balcony. They are all facing the water. It is very comfortable to sit on the balcony and enjoy the air.
