Our family had such a great experience staying at Rokpa Guest House. We used it as a base, staying three separate times for a total of ten nights over a three week period. Everything was great. The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the beds were very comfortable and warm. The staff of both the guest house and the restaurant were all super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of great choices (Nepali, English and other) and we had several delicious lunches and dinners as well. The restaurant is also a great place to sit and have some tea, as is the courtyard on a nice day. The guest house is cloistered and a quite respite from the chaos of Kathmandu. Rokpa stored some of our luggage as we traveled to other parts of Nepal and to Bhutan, and took care of arranging for taxis for local adventures around Kathmandu as well as to and from the airport. The guest house is very convenient to the stupa and not that far from the airport. Rokpa costs slightly more than other guest houses in the area but is much less costly than hotels,

I first stayed at Bodhi Guest House when I first visited Kathmandu in 2020. I chose this hotel first because of the name than then due to it's location near Boudhanath Stupa. This year when I went back to Kathmandu, I stay my entire 16 days at the Bodhi Guest House. My first experience made a lasting impression and brought me back. This place feels like home. The rooms are simple and clean and the wifi is stable and quite strong. The food is great quality, the courtyard is calm and quiet, and the staff are just so kind and helpful. They went out of their way to help me visit a far away and not so well known Buddhist cave. The Bodhi Guest House is honest, authentic, and comforting place to be. I will return in 2023!

The hotel is adjacent to Patanduba Square, and the vicinity is where the famous Nepalese Buddha statues are made. Many artisans have made exquisite Buddha statues in their homes by the alleys leading to the hotel. The hotel is very clean and tidy, especially very quiet, the furnishings are artistic, and most of the guests are European tourists. Through the window, you can see a small playground opposite, and the children are swinging on the swing happily. The hotel has a small elegant garden and a well-equipped dining room where you can make your own cup of Marsala tea or order an affordable meal. The most important thing is that the rooms here have screens, no mosquitoes come in, and you can sleep very securely. My daughter is ill, and I received a very considerate care here, from the boss to every service staff will ask with concern what help is needed! I like it very much, it has left me a good memory here!

Great place. Great staff. Budget rooms are very basic but for 8 dollers, it is what it is. Staff arranged a great guide for a 3 day awesome trek and invited me to a rooftop BBQ on return. Guides and taxis are a lower price than other places i asked. Good breakfast. Highly recommend.

The location is absolutely amazing its just 2 minutes walking distance from main road , 10 minutes walking distance from KTM Durbar Square. have a very nice rooftop garden restaurant. Well, I was lucky enough to stay at the Blue Mountain Homestay post covid in Sep 2022. I had a great time and stay. Buddhi the owner makes you feel very welcome like part of his family. He is thoughtful, attentive and friendly. He is able to arrange most things and has the knowledge to do this. I stayed in a very nice comfortable room which has been recently renovated as has the property. The room had a ceiling fan, plenty of lighting options, a big 2 way sliding window, a very comfortable double bed, a table and 2 chairs. There was an en-suite bathroom which had a shower, basin and toilet. There was plenty of hot water and towels. The room and bathroom was clean and presentable. Just to put things into perspective, In Nepal accommodation in general isn't quite up there compared to Western accommodation. So be prepared to manage your expectations. But saying that Blue Mountain Homestay for sure is one of the better places in the regard. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The stay includes breakfast which was very nice it includes 2 eggs any style, 2 toast, jam/butter, fruits and tea/coffee, you can also take cereal/porridge. Blue Mountain Homestay is located about 5min walk from Thamel, which is where the tourist part of Kathmandu is which in turn is quite chaotic and busy, but the location of property is ideal as it's quieter and away from the mayhem but close enough. There is plenty of space and seating areas to enjoy. It was a delight to eat outside in the warm sun while listening to the birds singing. I would recommend staying here if you want somewhere friendly, clean, good honest service, nice food, brilliant atmosphere and good value. Thanks Blue Mountain Homestay.

I lived on the 6th floor, this is the only room on this floor. The room has everything you need. There is a refrigerator and a TV, do they work?I don't know, I didn't use it. There was hot water. On the 6th floor there is a playground with tables. During my stay there was no one there, neither in the morning nor in the evening. You can sit there to rest, but if there are periods when, for example, there are a lot of people and they are sitting there, then they may interfere with sleeping in the morning or evening. The view from the window was just on this platform with tables, but I specifically took this room so that it was higher and the windows did not face the road, since the traffic on the street is quite intense and it can interfere with someone (it would hurt me, but this is only my opinion, someone is on the noise of cars may not pay attention). There are many cafes on the street. I went to have breakfast at the Himalaya Java Cafe and a vegitarian cafe is not far from it, it's all on Mandala Street. I didn't eat at the hotel, so I can't say what about the food there. The hotel is located in the Thamel district. My opinion is that walking on it is not very comfortable, there is very heavy car traffic right down the street. But there are a lot of souvenir shops and cafes in the area. That's why I only traveled by taxi. The hotel has friendly staff. I think this will be enough to make your choice.

I was in Nepal for a week. When i searched trip advisor lot of the people were recommending Thamel. Since I was budget one of my acquaintaince referred Imperial Guest House and I booked for 2 nights from *********** The best part about my stay was, this place is a hidden gem since it is located away from noisy Thamel. We found this place welcoming since it is family run. It has wifi, hot and cold shower. Beds are clean, rooms are cozy. This is exactly what I was searching for on a tight budget. Restaurant is not available within the premises, however if you walk few steps you will find multiple shops and restaurants. Lastly donot miss the terrace of the guesthouse if you would like to chill and read books, enjoy sun and drinks. Its only 6kms from Tribhuwan International Airport. Garden of dreams was a lovely place to visit, only 300 meters from the Guest House.

Well! I had a safe stay at the hotel discovery INN, I traveled internationally for the first time being a female solo traveller i was a bit nervous but i had good and safe stay at the hotel. Staff mainly Sri Krishna Bista brother helped me a lot every time i had an issue like hot water is not coming to take shower or i want a hot water to drink. Just a call to him or at reception would do the job, he would instantly come and helped me. I love the service and also the guy Shankar was nice and he told me about where to go first and places i should not miss. He suggested me a lot of places and also he helped me book the bus that directly travels from Kathmandu to Siliguri. I love the hotel Discovery INN. Its one of the hotels i felt safe while traveling alone. I must recommend this place, as the hotel is a decent one but mainly located right in the heart of Thamel.. you can book your stay. I didn't have any problem with anything because i only booked hotel to crash at night after exploring the entire day. You can go for this place!
