Reviews from Real Guests:

Mark beck: We had been trekking for 4 days and on the fourth day we reached Karakol. Issyk-Kul lake is outside of Karakol by about a fifteen minute taxi ride. The weather was warm and we thought a swim would be perfect to celebrate the completion of our trek. The lake itself is massive and can be accessed in many areas. We choose to go to the main public beach area. It was a very large sandy beach area. Lots of local families were picnicking and swimming. One family made us come sit with them and eat fried chicken and drink Coke Cola. The water was cool but not cold. The atmosphere was very welcoming and also relaxing. We left the lake after several hours feeling refreshed and happy.

D1az: great nearby nomad locations to explore and see the Milky Way at night. There’s also amazing horse riding services available nearby the lake
