There is no roof in the passage between the parking lot and the log house, so when it rains, there is an umbrella at the entrance of the log house, so you can use it to carry your luggage. You can walk to the main building or drive to the public bath and dining room. A car is good on rainy days. When you leave your pet in the log house and go out to eat, bring a cage and put it in and go out, or leave it in the car. The large public bath is a hot spring with an open-air bath and an indoor bath, so it was spacious and relaxing. Sauna is closed due to Corona. It was a meal plan, but when I was checking in at 5:30 pm and carrying my luggage, it was time to eat. I couldn't do it slowly and I was busy. I wish it was a little more flexible. As for the meal, the roast beef is prepared in advance and the meat is dry and disappointing. The beech meat and vegetable stir-fried on the copper plate was warmed with solid fuel, so it was delicious. Appetizers, sashimi, and boiled dishes were delicious. The ingredients of the soup are dry ingredients and the soup stock is not absorbed, and the taste of the soup stock is not delicious. The contents are good for the price, but I would like the quality of the food to be a little better. Breakfast was a buffet, which was satisfying. We stayed here for 4nights and enjoyed the convenience of this place. We had a rented car and parking was easy. Room was spacious and heating was very good especially in winter nights. The owners gave us free breakfast on a Sunday and it was very nice gesture. The staff and owner tried their very best to make us feel comfortable, and they are the only ones in Kusatsu that speak a little bit of English to us. All in all, this place was very convenient and fairly accessible. Thanks for having us, will surely return.

The hotel is considered the most cost-effective hotel I have stayed in Japan. The rooms are spacious and distinctive, and breakfast is provided. The location is very close to Yuza Hot Spring, within 5 minutes walk.

It was a revisit to Kyoritsu Resort the following month after being disappointed at La Vista Hakodate, so I wasn't expecting much, but this one was pretty good. The rooms are easy to use with hot spring open-air baths, and since it is built on a hill, the scenery is not bad even though it is a residential area. Full course / breakfast of this was buffet, but was delicious. Although it is far from Kusatsu's hot spring town, there is a shuttle bus so I didn't feel any inconvenience. If I have a chance to visit Kusatsu again, I would like to stay again.

Kusatsu Hotel is a beautiful Japanese style inn with a wooden 3-story building built on the high ground of the entrance to the West Kawahara Park. The quaint building is very good atmosphere. The antique furnishings and decorated raw flowers were modest and beautiful. The adjacent Kataoka Tsurutaro Museum of art seems to be operated by Kusatsu Hotel. The corner room on the 3 floor of the main building was a good room with a good view with two corners surrounded by windows. The old wooden frame window feels good. Thanks to the snow that had fallen the day before, we enjoyed the snowy scenery of Kusatsu.The ”Okuba” of the restaurant, which was extended to 2020, is a modern and bright atmosphere while leaving a Japanese taste. The breakfast and evening meals were beautiful, and all the dishes using fresh ingredients were delicious. The public bath (open-air two hot water) is also in a new separate building.
