"This villa is very elegant and has been in the family for years. As soon as your get to the villa you are made welcome. The Villa has been updated to a high standard but keeping the charm and most of the original furnishings. Our room was a suite very spacious with lots of balconies and a special patio area. The room was clean and the bathroom was so clean with plenty of towels and a very good shower. The bed was so comfortable. There are plenty of public places to sit and enjoy. The exterior of the property was lovely well maintained with lots of shady areas. A lovely patio where in the summer months you enjoy a lovely breakfast and the homecooked evening meals. The pool was the best with lots of loungers in the shade or out. There are also lots of other activities, Table Tennis and bikes for the guests. This villa is in the centre of Sicily so was a good base to see some of Sicily sites. We went to The Valley of the Temples and Mount Etna. approx 1.5 hours away. We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Trigona."

The owner, Mrs Mariateresa, who has choked us as only the Sicilian mothers know to do (although she is much younger than us 😉). A grateful thanks to Maria, always laughing and present at every request. "Guest house where the host is exceptional. Our room was in an annex to the main house and was superb. Everything is dated, but with all the modern comforts required. The view of Piazza Amerina is magnificent, especially from the beautiful terrace at the back. The breakfast was exceptional with lots of local produce."

"Passing through with the intention of revisiting the farmhouse villa. Always attracted by what has history but this time I am very disappointed by the transformation of this medieval tower into a farmhouse with no style attributable to its past. The room is small and narrow, so much so that it is not even possible to comfortably move from one side of the bed to the other. Poorly arranged shower. The dinner was very expensive and nothing special. Ditto for breakfast. Too bad about the location"

"Villa Trigona has the sense of a 19th century country lodge. We drove in, noting several paths into the woods. Outside the entrance are tables and chairs pleasantly arranged for use during breakfast and throughout the day. The hallways are decorated with pictures from ladies' fashion magazines, as well as for outdoor activities of the old days. The gentleman at reception showed us our room, which was on the ground floor (no stairs, yay!) and had a private terrace with a black wrought iron table and chairs. Breakfast was an extravagance of meats, cheeses, fruit, and, especially, pastries. As we spent long days at Villa Romana del Cazale and Morgantina, we appreciated, on our returns, having proseccos outside in the chilly sunshine. We ate dinner on site all three nights. The food was not quite equal to restaurant standards, but the convenience made up for it. All in all, our stay was quite economical. Also, we tried to drive into Pizza Armerina one night for dinner and there was such a mess (a rally?) that we returned to Villa Trigona. Everyone was helpful, but I want to particularly thank the young man who worked mostly in the kitchen and bar. He spoke excellent English and answered all our questions about the area."

"Really unique spot with a unique view. Good reception by staff. Nice Rooms with a view, good beds and shower. Great extensive breakfast. All rooms are situated on various floors arund the center hall/ breakfast room. One thing: when people in the hall: its noisy in the whole building. I had to correct some Italians that were loud speaking and scouting at 01.00 AM. For the rest ok."

"We had a last minute booking at La Casa Rossa but when we got there were met by Luciano saying we'd be staying round the corner in his house (rather than his daughter's). We lucked out - an equally impressive view over the Duomo, delicious and plentiful breakfast (sweet and savoury) and a generous host in Luciano. You are a bit out of the centre and do need a car but Luciano also has safe parking."

"I was looking forward to staying here with our tour group since it had history. Beautiful to drive up to so you are all excited since it is a hidden oasis. Don’t get fooled by the beauty. The worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at in all of our 24 years traveling abroad. It is a run down camp site style hotel. You are lucky is you get a mattress that is not a piece of cardboard. We are in our 60’s and in very good health, but this made us wake up in pain. We were up all night trying to figure out what to do to get sleep. I had to pile the comforter and blankets on top of mattress to form a padding. The mattress is worse than an army barracks bed. There was dust all over and the room was dirty and falling apart. Worst hotel on face of earth. If you want to say here DON’T. Fight the urge to book this hotel. This is not worth a free night stay. Do not stay here."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Suite d'Autore in the interesting and spacious Fluidita room. It was very clean and quiet Ettore (owner) and staff were kind, gracious and took such good care of us, including great restaurant recommendations and booking private transport to and from the town ! The view over the Duomo was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious, including fresh croissants and ricotta cheese. The town itself of Piazza Armerina is quiet and beautiful and easy to get around on foot. Ettore was also our guide of the nearby excavated Roman mansion with incredible mosaics and also took us through the town. We would love to come back to stay at this unique and beautiful hotel in this special town!"
