The hotel is opposite the train station, the room is small, the single room is acceptable, the double room is very cramped. The room is divided into street-facing and non-street-facing, and the room facing the street is very noisy. I stayed in the room facing the street in mid-June. The sun can be directly shining in the room at noon. There is no air conditioning and the temperature is very high. Very noisy when the window is opened. Breakfast is very similar to Ibis. I feel that the room rate is high, chatting with other guests, and learning that the same time and room type, the French locals only booked less than 100 euros (including breakfast), 30% lower than our Chinese. Now the French hotel is not deliberately increasing the price for the Chinese.

The Novotel Angers Centre Gare Hotel is a clean and contemporary hotel, however we felt it lacked ambience. The hotel is located right next to the Angers Gare, and while it may be convenient for those travelling to the Novotel Angers Centre Gare Hotel by train, the hotel does offer car parking at the Angers Gare car park, which is operated by an independent operator, and the hotel does offer a discounted rate for the car park. The Novotel is within a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of Angers and about a 10 minute walk to Angers Castle, both of which are in two different directions of the hotel. The room we had was spacious, with a double bed, in-room safe, room-control air conditioning, very small wardrobe, fridge and kettle with basic tea and coffee. Sparkling water was the only beverage provided in the room and not plain water for the kettle, nor milk and only paper cups!! The block-out curtains worked well at night, although you could hear the train, however our room overlooked the train station. The bathroom had a bath step-in-shower and the shower pressure for the hot water was poor, and there was limited space on the bathroom vanity to spread out hair appliances etc. The in-room phone didn’t work, so we had to make our way down to reception to ask for an ironing board and iron. Bath robes and slippers weren’t supplied. The buffet breakfast was an additional cost, although it did offer a good selection of hot and cold, savoury and sweet menu, which was nice. If you're looking for a basic, clean and convenient no-frills hotel, then the Novotel Angers Centre Gare Hotel, could be for you!

It’s a good choice to come to this hotel if you have the opportunity in the summer, the privacy is good and the high-speed outer ring is convenient, the hotel room service is humanized and the service is very heartwarming, and the check-out time does not stop urging, which gives us enough patience and trust . We booked 3 rooms at Hotel 21, half the group were driving and half cycling. Thomas couldn't have been more helpful in the whole process from booking to our stay. It's a lovely hotel, easy to find from the motorway. We found parking in the next street and the storage for bikes was secure. The rooms were large and light and minimal noise from the busy street due to good windows. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, plentiful and personal. We had some issues in the morning with the next stage of our journey and we were so grateful to Thomas for helping us get organised with a taxi, luggage storage and general help. He has a wonderful sense of humour too! We would love to come back and explore Angers a bit more and would definitely stay at Hotel 21 Foch. Our thanks to Thomas for all his help.
