Stayed last 2 weeks in May for 2 weeks. Location - simply stunning. The epic views of this hotel are its USP. Note Baia Sardinia is a village so there was not much there. I wine bar, 2 cafe bars and a few restaurants so for 2 weeks not a lot. Room- There is the main building and a separate one set back. Stayed in main in a classic seaview room on ground floor. We were close to all facilities but so near reception it was quite noisy so never got a lie in. Room was very very traditional but not very spacious, difficult to find a spot for 2 large cases.. Plenty storage, a safe, big comfy bed , minibar (we took the drinks out and used it as a fridge). Balcony was so tiny that we never used it. Saw much bigger balconies in other rooms, so luck of draw. Bathroom usable but very out of date and needed some tlc. Shower looked like a one from when they were first invented but excellent power. The room could have been made so much better with a few modern touches...shower curtains are a thing of the past and should be screens. Hairdryer is useless if you have long hair. Air con really not great. Need more plug sockets. Bar - Outside near pool and piano where a man played and sang on a night. The most lovely staff. They give out canapés with drinks around 5.30 ish which was nice. Drinks are pricey but Sardinia is generally. Only bar snack available is a ham and cheese toastie. Lunch menu is a la carte restaurant. Could do with more choice of bar type food. Pool and gardens - epic views to enjoy whilst sunbathing. Lots of sunbeds dotted around gardens aswell if you prefer. No annoying music just peace and tranquility. Pool was big, deep, saltwater and very cold, so rarely used by anyone in May, imagine it would be lovely in hotter months. Was not aware but guests from the Clubhotel are allowed to use the pool as they don't have one. They are owned by the same company and what annoyed me was there is a lovely walk around the coast side of the Club hotel where you reach a cute tiny beach with sun beds. We sat on them to rest and was told they were just for Club hotel guests - hardy fair if they can use our pool? ! Breakfast- served till 10 am. A bit if a let down but firstly staff were simply superb and certainly breakfast with a view! Coffee was poor and always a but of a wait as staff have to go and get it. They should invest in a couple of bean to cup machines. Cake type products were dry and tasteless. Warm pastries were good, though, but ran out a lot and were not replenished if you arrived on the later side. Poor cut fresh fruit choice and never saw a banana in 2 weeks. Eggs sloppy and watery, never touched the cooked offering, ended up having a little box of Kellogs All Bran most days and a pastry if there was any left. I think because we were there 2 weeks we noticed the negatives a bit more. Generally speaking a truly beautiful authentic hotel in a fabulous location with superb staff but not without fault.
