The Mandai Wildlife Reserve is located in the northern part of Singapore, next to the Upper Seletar Reservoir. It encompasses multiple wildlife attraction sites and is a popular destination for a full day of wildlife adventure.
Currently, the Mandai Wildlife Reserve includes the Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, Night Safari, and Bird Paradise. Jurong Bird Park has been permanently closed and replaced by Bird Paradise, which has been relocated and redeveloped within the Mandai precinct.

This zoo is a must-see!! We took a 5-day tour package, and it was cheaper than on the official website, but you can't see that much in one day. There are multi-day tours, but none were available here. Everything at the zoo is thought out and organized down to the last detail. However, the intermediate pavilions are incredibly cold, so bring a jacket. Keep in mind that the M2 shuttle bus from the city to the zoo doesn't accept cash! Water is available everywhere, so bring a thermos or bottles and drink plenty. The bird park is incredible!! You're with them under a closed dome. They can land right next to you. We were thrilled! Wow!!

I absolutely loved this option, unlike the night safari. We had a blast!
We saw many new, very interesting animals we'd never seen before.
The area is huge, and there's a lot of walking involved, but everything is very well designed. There are benches everywhere where you can comfortably rest in the shade, and plenty of cafes.
The tram has about five stops along the route. A huge advantage is that you can get off at any station, walk around, see the animals, and then hop back on the next tram and continue on.
At certain times, for a small additional fee, you can feed the giraffes and some other animals yourself—it's a great experience.

The Night Safari was completed in 1994, and it is the first nocturnal park in the world! You can get a rare chance to see how the animals behave at night and watch stunning performances as well. The Night Safari is open from Thursdays to Sundays, on public holidays, and eves of public holidays. The opening hours are from 18:30 to 23:59, and the last entry is at 23:15.

The safari includes a scheduled indoor show, routes along the animal enclosures, and a train ride along the animal enclosures. We thoroughly enjoyed it. I recommend arriving at the park as early as possible (before 7:00 a.m.) to see everything.
Tickets must be purchased in advance and a timed entry check-in is required.
The park is vast, and time is short. You need to be very organized. I recommend:
1. Register for the show first (it's one of the last times).
2. Enter the park and board the train as early as possible. The seats on the edge are more convenient—they offer a better view. This ride will take about an hour.
3. After riding the train through the park, I recommend completing all the routes (it's convenient to start with the leopard trail and end with the Tasmanian devil trail—that way you'll cover all the trails. At a brisk pace, all the routes take 1.5 hours. We really enjoyed the bat enclosure; be sure to check it out). 4. After the trails, go to the show.
If you leave after 11:30, you won't make it to the metro.

For our four-day trip to Singapore, we wanted to decide our schedule based on the weather and our physical condition, so we bought tickets after arriving in Singapore.
However, the only available time slots for the next two days were 9:15 PM…
We thought it was late, but we spent the morning at Universal Studios Singapore (USS) and left Sentosa Island at 7 PM.
We took the train and bus and arrived at the Night Safari at 8 PM.
From the moment we boarded the bus, there was no one else there, and the bus sped along in the pitch black, making us uneasy.
Upon arrival, the entrance was also dark and there were few people. We chuckled, wondering if it was really necessary to make it so dark from this point, even for the Night Safari.
Even the food court was dark…
It was great that we could easily get in by just showing our tickets on our smartphones.
The reservation time didn't seem to matter, but we decided to watch the show first.
We should have arrived early and sat down near the front!
We were worried about getting back if it got too late, so we went to the tram stop before our reservation time. They didn't check the time; we were just told to get on the next tram that came – very relaxed. In the darkness, I strained my eyes to spot animals, which was very moving.
I crossed paths with people walking along the way, and I wondered if it might be scary to walk there.
The food court had fewer items available to order, which was a shame, but the laksa was delicious, and I was happy they had draft beer.
I took a Grab back to the hotel.
It arrived in less than 10 minutes, and it took 30 minutes to get to my hotel near Lavender Station. The fare was 38 SGD.
It's far from the city center, and the price isn't cheap, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but it's a valuable activity as it's open late into the night.
That said, if you do go, it's best to arrive a little before dark so you can enjoy the shops, restaurants, and shows in the park at a more leisurely pace.

You can see various animals at a close and dark distance that you can't experience in Japan. The trolley, in particular, was so close it almost seemed artificial. I went with an 8:15 PM ticket, so I couldn't do all the walking trails, but I was very satisfied.

To be honest, I didn't know what to expect from the night safari, but my friend and I were quite impressed, especially with the sightseeing tram. First of all, the staff was very accommodating and helped us skip the line because of my friend’s medical condition. During the tram ride, we saw many amazing animals. I just wished the volume of the guide was a little louder so we could hear what he was saying about the animals, or that we had headphones to listen to the commentary. Also, I wished the tram ride lasted longer than 30 minutes. Another highlight was visiting their theater to watch and listen to other night animals. The guide did a lot of talking, and we only wish we had seen more animals. Since it was late at night, we couldn't do the walking trail, but we hope to visit again to experience that part.
Mandai Wildlife Reserve: River Wonders
The River Wonders is the latest park completed at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve in 2012. It is Asia’s first and only river-themed wildlife park, and it draws attention to the increasingly threatened river ecosystem. The River Wonders features over 240 species of land and aquatic animals, as well as the famous Giant Panda.

First time visiting this place as a local. Its a different experiencr from the other attraction at mandai wildlife reserves. We walked through the forest treks and the boardwalk. Both have their own charms. Boardwalk allow me to see the animals better. The forest treks are an immersion in nature in an urban city. Specially love my lucky chance of watching the tiger up close.

I was a bit disappointed with the hotel during this second visit in June 2026. There was a noisy construction site outside the window, and drilling went on for several hours in one of the neighboring rooms due to renovations. They couldn't find another room for me, but they tried to smooth things over, which is a plus for the hotel.
This time, there were no welcome fruits, no second evening housekeeping service, and no replenishment of amenities, tea bags, or candies.
Breakfast was good.
The view was excellent; I watched the tree show from my room.
Overall, considering the room price, I had hoped for better. My first visit was more enjoyable.
It's best to go to the pool right when it opens at 6 AM – there are minimal people then. However, it's heavily chlorinated; even after washing, the smell wouldn't come out of my swimsuit. It was convenient that my room was in the same tower, so I could go to the pool in my bathrobe and slippers. There's free bottled water at the pool and a restaurant for snacks.From€611

I booked this hotel with a lot of trepidation, as I saw many negative reviews and debated for a long time.
I'm not a shill, but I'll share my experience this time. We had a sea-view room. The bathroom was genuinely enormous, which really lifted my spirits. The golden view was absolutely stunning, especially at night, with Marina Bay Sands, the Merlion, St. Andrew's Cathedral, and the Singapore Flyer all perfectly visible. The bed was also comfortable, and my initial anxieties just melted away.
There were certainly downsides. The air conditioning was genuinely loud. For someone sensitive to noise, it might be a bit hard to tolerate. But for those who aren't sensitive to sound and just crash after a long day of sightseeing, it's not an issue – like my family, who didn't notice the AC noise at all and found it perfectly acceptable. I, however, am very sensitive to sound.
The toilet paper was also genuinely not good; I ended up buying my own from the supermarket.
So, overall, for me, the pros outweighed the cons. I later read many reviews, and it seems the sea-view rooms might genuinely be better than other room types, for instance, being in the South Tower and not having connecting rooms.
These are all my personal opinions, for reference only. I'm someone who really dislikes writing reviews, but since traveling abroad isn't easy and I agonized over choosing a hotel for over a month, I've been through the struggle, and I don't want you to go through the same dilemma.From€151

As it's surrounded by several academies, it's a paradise for young people with plenty of shopping malls and restaurants. There are also coin-operated laundry facilities, which are very useful given Singapore's hot weather. The laundry room is connected to the gym, a nice touch so you can work out while waiting. The hotel's location is excellent, with a subway station right outside the door and another line a few hundred meters away that goes to Chinatown. It's about an 800-meter walk to the Fort Canning tree tunnel (a popular photo spot), and from there you can continue on to the Old Hill Street Police Station (also known as the Rainbow Police Station), Clarke Quay, and the Merlion.
The room size is a definite advantage compared to other hotels in the same price range; there's plenty of space to walk even with two large suitcases. The bathroom size is standard as well.
The downside is that the bathroom fixtures are quite old, and the shower is difficult to use. However, I was aware of this beforehand, so I was prepared, and given the other advantages, it's acceptable. The bedding is good, and the sofa is quite comfortable. Among the toiletries, only the shampoo, shower gel, and toothbrush weren't great; everything else was fine.
The room has a kettle and comes with tea and coffee packets. There's also a water dispenser in the hallway where you can get iced or room temperature water.
The hotel breakfast is decent, on par with business hotels in China. However, the service is excellent; they diligently restock drinks and food even at the last minute, even if there are only a few people dining.
There are washing machines and dryers on the fourth floor, each costing 5 SGD, and you can get change for coins at the front desk. The commercial machines work very well; the dryer gets clothes completely dry in 40 minutes. There are also ironing facilities in the room.
Overall, I recommend this hotel. If you have a higher budget, you might look elsewhere, but if you're looking for great value for money at this price point, you should definitely consider it.From€125

If you're not traveling with family, you'd find much better standard room options and accommodations for the same price. Our family of four stayed here specifically for the two large beds.
The hotel's location isn't far from the MRT station. Haji Lane and BOSS HOTEL (the starting point for the Legoland shuttle) are all within walking distance, and there are many bus routes nearby, making transportation very convenient. There are plenty of food and drink options downstairs, and there's an Indian minimart across the street from the hotel that's much cheaper than the 7-Eleven down the block.

Room 5155 has a nice view to the Southernmost point and the islands beyond in the Singapore Strait (and you can also watch the movies screened every night but without sound). Easiest way to move between the lobby and the room is by cutting across the swimming pool area at level 3. If you're looking for food options, there is a 7 eleven nearby, a French bistro and a fusion restaurant a few steps beyond that, and then the one altitude bar (but not open to kids) with a restaurant beside it (that is open to kids) in the next hotel. I requested for checking out at 1.00pm the next day and told the staff to take note so that their other staff would be aware as well. They said that it would be noted in the system. This was my first time staying at this hotel. The location is quite good, just about an 8-minute walk from the MRT. There's also a supermarket and a food court nearby, which is very convenient for meals and shopping. However, the room was indeed a bit small, and there was hardly any space for my suitcase; I had to put it under the clothes rack. I stayed for 2 nights and the hotel is super close to a lot of places including china town, Lau Pa Sat and Clarke Quay. Merlion is also not far to walk, maybe about 20 minutes! The staff were super attentive and very helpful with anything I needed, the check in/check out process was also very smooth ☺️ I used the pool for a bit and it was very clean and lovely views. They also have a small gym which was nice, I would definitely stay here again! 😁From€139

We had a very mixed experience at this hotel and ultimately felt the value for money was quite low given the condition of the property.
We were initially assigned a room on the 2nd floor, and it had several issues. The view faced the parking lot, which meant we were woken up at 7:00 AM ish by the noise of trucks. The room's soundproofing was also poor—whenever people spoke in the corridor, we could hear their conversations. To top it off, the facilities and pipes are very old, causing a persistent, highly unpleasant sewage smell to come from the toilet.
However, the saving grace of this hotel is its staff. After we raised our concerns about the noise, the condition, and the odor, the front desk team was very nice and understanding. They managed to transfer us to a room on a higher floor, facing street view, which was a significant improvement and much quieter.
While we greatly appreciated the excellent customer service and the quick room change, the overall building is in desperate need of an upgrade and better insulation. If you choose to stay here, I highly recommend requesting a room on a higher floor away from the parking lot right at check-in.From€166

We booked two rooms and stayed for three nights. Both rooms were clean and tidy. Farhan handled both our check-in and check-out, and he was absolutely fantastic! 👍 We originally booked twin rooms, but none were available next to each other. He went out of his way to arrange connecting king rooms for us and even added an extra bed to each room for free. The room size was perfect, and they all had balconies. The kids also loved the pool. The hotel is within walking distance of nearby attractions, and there's a large hypermarket right across the street. The location is truly excellent! It's ideal for families traveling with children. Our experience upon arrival was completely different from what we'd read in some negative reviews. A comfortable stay is the best antidote to the exhaustion of traveling with kids.From€323

The hotel's location is superb, right above Raffles City. With both green and red MRT lines accessible downstairs, it's incredibly convenient whether you're coming from the airport or heading to Sentosa. Many city attractions are also within walking distance. Both check-in and check-out were handled by staff; I didn't encounter any self-service options. While some staff didn't speak Mandarin, their attitude was consistently good.
I booked a Marina Swiss Twin room. 'Marina' means you get views towards Marina Bay Sands, and 'Swiss' indicates a high floor, specifically above the 39th. I was assigned room #58 on the 52nd floor. It was slightly off-center; the main view was of the office buildings, with a church directly below. Marina Bay Sands was to the left, and being so high up, it was a little daunting to look down. The twin beds were 1.37 meters wide, perfectly fine for sleeping with a child.
I tried two breakfast options. Clove is right off the elevator and always had a queue, but it moved quickly. They offer a wider variety of food. Asian is a bit further; after exiting the elevator, turn left past Starbucks, then right to the end. A Clove staff member was very helpful; I just casually asked, and she immediately led me there. Asian offers some interesting Southeast Asian pastries worth trying.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this hotel.From€273

First time staying at Pan Pacific 3D2N stay was pleasant. As we book connecting room , and have to wait a bit longer for our other room to be ready the reception display their best professionalism to accommodate. The room was spacious, mini fridge filled with drinks and chocolate reserve for guests for quick snack. Like the motorized curtains. The amenities like coffee machine come in handy for a good coffee. Our high floor panoramic city view room, we did manage to catch a glimpse of the Singapore flyer, marina bay sands from outside our room which is a breath taking view. Hope we get to book marina view next time.The pool was big and my kids enjoy relaxing and swimming. The foot reflexology treatment was relaxing and comforting.
Overall I'm delighted with my staycation from the moment we arrive, we were welcome and greeted by the bell attendant, front reception, even check out was smooth and till our departure the hotel staff hospitality has treated us well. On side note if room service food/halal breakfast spread is available would be added advantage for Muslim guests. 👍👍From€321

This is definitely bang for the buck than other hotels in Singapore. The location is not that far from bus stations and Kallang station MRT. Since I love walking, it was not really a big deal for me to walk for 10mins or less.
It is also located in Geylang, so it’s very quiet. My mom and I were able to sleep well. Amenities is spot on, very clean and secured. Even the front desk staff were very helpful during our stay. We had a very comfortable stay at Yotelair Singapore Changi Airport. The location is extremely convenient, especially for travellers with an overnight transit or early/late flight. The room was clean, compact, and well designed, with everything we needed for a short rest. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the staff were helpful.
