We were two adults and two children, in town for a concert. Now that the kids are older, a comfortable sleep is a priority, so I always look for hotels with two 1.8m beds. This often limits my choices, as most other hotels only offer 1.35m twin beds. I really appreciate that this place has two 1.8m beds. The location is excellent – a mere three to four-minute walk from Jiefangbei, and the nearest subway station, Jiaochangkou, is less than a 5-minute walk away. The snack street downstairs is also incredibly convenient. It's also very close to Shancheng 18 Steps, and you can take Line 2 directly to the Olympic Sports Center for concerts. Overall, we had a very satisfying stay. We did encounter a couple of minor issues during our stay – the shower head wouldn't switch and the internet wasn't connecting, but these were resolved very quickly. If we come back with the kids, I'd definitely choose this hotel again. The only downside is that there are many hotels in this building, so the elevators can take a while to arrive.FromNZD 48

I brought my mom along, and after a long search for the perfect hotel, I settled on this one. It's in a very quiet area, the rooms are spacious, and what's even better is the beautiful surrounding scenery, especially at night.
The room was well-ventilated and dry, and the air conditioning worked great. It's also super convenient to get around by taxi or subway from here. But what really stood out was the service. From check-in to check-out, they were always quick to respond on WeChat, which made for a fantastic experience. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chongqing.

We had a wonderful stay at Mercure Chongqing Jiafengbei! The hotel offers excellent value for money - definitely the best in its price range. We were given a spacious 2-room setup with a comfortable 1.5m bed. Although our room had no view, it really didn’t matter as the room itself was clean, modern, and very comfortable.
The highlight was the reception staff - they were incredibly beautiful, friendly, and attentive. The lady at the front desk even went out of her way to provide us with extra fruits and drinks, which made us feel truly welcomed.

Came to Chongqing for my kid's spring break, and the hotel's location is excellent – you can see Jiefangbei right from the main entrance. However, the hotel is quite old. The air conditioning units feel like they're from a renovation ten years ago. Because it was raining the day we arrived, the room also had a strong musty smell, and there was a bad odor from the bathroom drains. We arrived too late that day to switch rooms, but I did communicate the situation to the front desk when checking out. They responded very quickly, and their service attitude is definitely commendable. With the room rate approaching 900 near the May Day holiday, the value for money is questionable. I've stayed at many Hyatt hotels across the country, and this one doesn't stand out for its facilities.FromNZD 110

The facilities are a bit old, but generally well-maintained. I stayed on the 26th floor and the room had a damp smell, which wasn't great. The windows felt like they weren't there at all; they provided no soundproofing. The showerhead was leaking and needs to be replaced. The elevators in the public areas felt like they had no AC, were very hot at noon, and were slow.
Hygienics: Meets Hyatt standards.
Environment: Meets Hyatt standards.
Service: So-so. After 10 PM, there was no answer when calling room service.
Location: Good, quiet yet central. There are many shopping areas nearby, making it very convenient for dining and shopping.
Other: The executive lounge's food was average with no live cooking stations. The pool has a hot tub and dry sauna, but the water quality was mediocre. Overall, everything is quite old.FromNZD 144

The hotel is located in a scenic area with beautiful views. Before our arrival, the front desk, specifically Xiao Xiao, called to confirm our check-in. Knowing my sensitivity to odors, she specifically inspected the room on the day we arrived and proactively checked in with us afterwards. When she learned we wanted the room temperature to be a bit higher, she arranged for a staff member to specially deliver a portable heater. This greatly enhanced our experience during our stay (we had underestimated the mountain temperature and didn't bring enough warm clothes). Xiao Xiao also provided us with a guide to the tourist attractions, convenient transportation methods, and timings in Fairy Mountain. Her excellent service brought warmth to our trip. Staying at Bolian Resort truly felt luxurious. This was my first time experiencing a high end resort in China, and I chose Bolian over other options in the area, including Banyan Tree Hot Springs, with very high expectations. While it is not perfect, I’m glad to say that it does meet the standards of a luxury resort. The level of service and attention to detail, even with the language barrier, was comparable to what I’ve experienced at other top tier hotels like Park Hyatt. First of all, I would like to sincerely thank the staff for fulfilling my personal request to have berries and chocolate prepared in my room. What really touched me was the towel art and flower petal decorations on the bed, thoughtfully arranged to mark a very personal occasion, which was celebrating my mental health recovery. Seeing the Mandarin character for “happy” placed on the bed felt very endearing. It was a small gesture, but one that felt genuinely kind and thoughtful. Other aspects of the service were just as impressive. While I was away enjoying the Bolian hot spring spa, the staff prepared my room for the evening by lighting all the mini candles, mopping the floor, and creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere for my return. That level of attention to detail really stood out. That said, I did notice a small oversight. The tea filter I had used for my pu’er tea was still left in the sink, which suggested that housekeeping may have been rushing, possibly knowing I would be returning sooner than expected. It was minor, but noticeable in an otherwise polished experience. The hot spring amenities, both in the room and around the resort, were amazing. Everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained. I also appreciated how attentive the staff were at night, especially when guests were walking along the hot spring paths in the dark. The unexpected room upgrade was a lovely surprise as well, so thank you for that. Overall, I had a very pleasant and restorative stay. However, one thing that really affected my experience was the breakfast. The breakfast was honestly disappointing for a resort of this standard. The options were limited, the presentation was not great, and the overall quality fell short of expectations. I have uploaded photos with this review in the hope that management can improve this area. To be frank, breakfast took away from what was otherwise a wonderful stay. Being served ONE CHICKEN FOOT as part of the spread was highly amusing, but not in a good way. I have had much better Chongqing noodles and dim sum at local eateries for a fraction of the price. For a meal priced at around 200 yuan, it felt hard to justify......This is where people often say not to eat at five star hotels because the better food is usually found on the streets. It was disappointing that Bolian’s breakfast ended up reinforcing this stereotype... In summary, Bolian Resort shines when it comes to service, atmosphere, attentiveness, and hot spring facilities. With a serious improvement to the breakfast, it could easily become a truly excellent luxury experience.FromNZD 836

Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Chongqing and overall had a good experience.
The biggest positive is the location. The hotel is within walking distance of Jiefangbei and Hongyadong, with easy access to the metro, making it very convenient for exploring the city. The views around the area are fantastic, especially at night. Check-in was straightforward and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and provided a good start to the day.
The room was comfortable and generally met our expectations. However, on the morning of our tour, the sink pipe failed and leaked significantly, making the sink unusable when we were trying to get ready for an early departure. This was inconvenient as we could not properly use the sink for washing or brushing our teeth before leaving. To the hotel's credit, the issue was repaired while we were out later that day and did not affect the remainder of our stay.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its excellent location and good value, but the maintenance issue prevents me from giving full marks.FromNZD 68

A special shout-out to Jackie, who communicated with us in advance about our needs and made sure everything we requested was prepared. Xiao Tang was also wonderful; she reminded us that we could contact the hotel directly for anything we needed. Qi Feng, from the lobby security team, was exceptionally helpful. My mom had to leave a day early by herself, and he not only helped her with her luggage but also called a taxi for her. The swimming pool staff deserve huge praise too! For my trip to Chongqing, I specifically booked the Niccolo's Deluxe River View King Room, and the overall experience far exceeded my expectations. As a luxury hotel rooted high up in the IFS, this room perfectly embodies the unique sky-high romance of the mountain city.
The room itself is a generous 52 square meters, designed with a minimalist yet sophisticated grey, white, and gold palette. There are no superfluous or cluttered decorations; instead, metallic lines and soft lighting complement each other. Art pieces strategically placed throughout create a rich and elegant atmosphere. Stepping into the room instantly relieved the fatigue of travel.
The full-panel panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows are undoubtedly the room's biggest highlight. With a 270-degree unobstructed view, you can lie in bed and directly face the magnificent confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. Raffles City Chongqing, Qiansimen Bridge, and the Hongya Cave complex are all arranged within sight. During the day, a thin mist shrouds the river, and the stacked buildings showcase the three-dimensional beauty of the mountain city. As night falls, the city's neon lights gradually illuminate, and the illuminated tour boats and the bridge lights intertwine to form a flowing river of stars – no filters needed for any photos you take.
A soft leisure sofa by the window invites you to sit back and watch the sunset, creating a wonderfully ambient mood. The marble bathtub by the window in the bathroom is another exquisite touch; while soaking, you can look up and admire the panoramic night view. Paired with the hotel's standard high-end Italian bath amenities, the soothing and healing fragrance elevates the sense of comfort to the fullest.
The bedding, made from high-thread-count knitted fabric, feels soft and plush, allowing for quick relaxation and sleep. The smart home control system is convenient and hassle-free, with one-touch control for curtains, lights, and room temperature – a truly thoughtful detail.
The hotel service is meticulous and attentive. The staff at check-in were gentle and explained the room facilities proactively. Turndown service was thoughtfully prepared, and the mini-bar was fully stocked. Being located downstairs from the IFS commercial district made going out for shopping incredibly convenient.
The only slight regret is that Hongya Cave is slightly obstructed from certain angles, but this absolutely does not diminish the overall viewing experience. Whether you're here specifically to experience the mountain city's night view or for a leisurely stay, this Deluxe River View King Room is definitely a worthwhile choice. Even after leaving, the cloud-high river view remains unforgettable.FromNZD 280

I had an amazing 3-night stay at Nicesoe M Hotel! The location is perfect — right in downtown Chongqing, making it super easy to walk to major tourist spots and metro stations (just around a 10-minute walk away). I loved how everything was within reach, yet the hotel itself was so peaceful and quiet. One of the best surprises was being given a corner room with corner glass windows, which made the whole space feel open, bright, and special. Even better, the bathtub was placed right at the corner. The bathtub was big, clean, with strong water pressure, and paired perfectly with the bath bombs I brought. The room itself was spotlessly clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the noise level was practically zero — I couldn’t hear anything from outside at all. There was an office desk - perfect for my remote work needs. Special mention to the lovely reception staff who were always smiling and took immediate care of all my requests — their warm attitude truly made my stay memorable. Although I didn’t use the hotel Wi-Fi (I preferred my own for security reasons), the hotel felt very safe and secure throughout my stay. Check-in and check-out were fast and easy.
