I picked this hotel in Hangzhou on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. The location is unbeatable—right on Pinghai Road, super close to the West Lake. You can just stroll over to see the musical fountain, and there are plenty of dining options all around. I booked the Superior King Room. It was quite spacious, spotlessly clean, and the bed had that just-right firmness—not too soft, not too hard. Even though it's right in the city center, it was very quiet at night. Check-in at the front desk was quick and straightforward, no unnecessary hassle. For just over 400 RMB in this location, you really can't ask for more. The value for money is exceptional. If I can't find anywhere else next time I'm in Hangzhou, I'll definitely stay here again.

I came to Hangzhou for a concert and a trip with my parents. I chose this hotel mainly because of its convenient location and good value for money. Most importantly, it had a room suitable for three adults, which made it easy to take care of my elders. The staff were all very enthusiastic. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it was enough and the food was good. There's also a small gym; the equipment is basic, but it's fine for a quick workout. The downside is that there are too few parking spaces, and they have to share with the residential complex. Once you've parked, you're reluctant to move your car again, as the security guard said there might not be a spot if you come back later.

I stayed in a mountain view room, and the hotel package I bought was incredibly good value. It included a buffet dinner for two, where we had hairy crabs and lots of seafood – I might have eaten a bit too much, haha. The breakfast buffet was also very generous, with excellent pastries and delicious freshly made 'shou zhua bing' (hand-grabbed pancakes). The beef noodles were good too. Getting around was super convenient, with a bus stop right outside the hotel. I went to Lingyin Temple early in the morning and then to West Lake in the evening – a fantastic experience!

Five-star review! I booked an Executive Deluxe room for the National Day holiday, and the front desk even upgraded me to a better room. Sofitel perfectly blends French elegance with the江南 (Jiangnan) atmosphere of West Lake. The hotel's location is unbeatable – within walking distance of West Lake, making it incredibly convenient for exploring Hubin Road and the scenic spots. Check-in was efficient and smooth, and the staff were all gentle and polite. The room was spacious and bright, with excellent cleanliness, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable – perfect for a good rest after a long day. Choosing to stay at the Midtown Shangri-La during this trip to Hangzhou was an absolute 10/10 experience! As soon as I stepped into the lobby, I was captivated by the unique lotus chandelier. The layered lighting swaying gently creates that unmistakable, gentle charm of the Jiangnan region. You simply have to check out the 'Sky Mirror' on the 13th floor. Standing here offers an expansive view; looking out towards West Lake, you can see the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon resting quietly on the water. The way the lake and sky reflect each other creates an incredible atmosphere that makes for amazing photos. The hotel is very close to Hubin, making it super convenient to stroll around West Lake or go out for food. The staff were warm and attentive, the service was meticulous, and the room was comfortable and clean. Whether you're here for a vacation or a short trip, it's a fantastic choice and definitely a top-tier hotel to consider when visiting Hangzhou!

Traveling with elderly family members, the hotel is super convenient as it is located right at Exit B of Fengqi Road subway station. Wulin Night Market is just behind the hotel, and walking straight through the market leads directly to the West Lake. Turning left takes you to the musical fountain, and walking straight leads to the Broken Bridge—location is amazing! The buffet breakfast on the 12th floor offers a great variety, and the staff are all warm and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. I will definitely choose to stay here again next year. Turning right and walking straight leads to Yintai N77, making getting around anywhere very easy. Also, the restaurant terrace is an absolute must-visit spot for taking photos!

Check-in was quick; we arrived at around 6 PM on Friday and got our room right away, and all the special requests we noted in advance were fulfilled. Checking out at the Executive Lounge on our final day was also fast and efficient, with no delays—thumbs up. However, upon check-in, even though they saw we had a child with us, they didn't proactively provide children's toiletries or slippers. After we requested them in the room, it took a very long time for them to be delivered, which wasted a lot of time. The concierge service needs improvement. When we got into our car at the hotel entrance for departure, we had to load all our heavy luggage into the vehicle entirely by ourselves, with zero assistance. Additionally, food deliveries are not brought up to the room proactively, and when they are delivered, it is extremely slow. The ceiling height in the room is indeed quite low, but it's within an acceptable range. Our room faced north, but it had great natural light and didn't feel damp at all. Soundproofing is a bit of an issue; you could hear sounds from the hallway and the adjacent room, but it wasn't overly noisy and was manageable. While the room was clean in all aspects, the maintenance of the facilities left much to be desired. The frame of the bathroom mirror was chipped in several places, the amenity tray was uneven and surprisingly missing a corner at the bottom. The bathroom sink is extremely prone to splashing, making it impossible to keep anything around the edges unless you want it soaked in seconds. The hairdryer looks like it's seen better days and felt slightly sticky to the touch. The hot water from the bathtub showerhead was unstable; we waited a long time for warm water to bathe the child, but it stayed cold, almost giving the little one a cold. We ended up switching to the regular shower, which worked normally—quite puzzling. Many of the room's facilities are quite ”old-school,” especially the television, which failed to mirror our screen after trying for ages, and the other functions were equally frustrating to use. On a positive note, the terrace at the Executive Lounge is fantastic, offering a panoramic view of West Lake. The food options in the lounge are somewhat limited, but the overall quality is decent. The highlight was that the noodle station is open even during the evening service. The most吐槽-worthy (ridiculous) thing, however, was that they actually use coffee capsules for their coffee. Moreover, the service quality also leaves a lot to be desired. During breakfast, our child couldn't finish 3 small pastries left on the table. To avoid food waste, we politely asked a staff member for a takeout box, only to be told that takeout wasn't allowed and they didn't have any boxes here. Yet, as we were leaving, we saw other staff members grabbing takeout boxes for other guests. This was incomprehensible and rather frustrating; I hope they can improve their staff training!

The surrounding landscape has been meticulously designed so that guests in any season can appreciate the beauty of blooming flowers blending seamlessly with the courtyard. The lobby exudes a rich, 'old money' aesthetic. The staff are refined, attentive, and exceptionally well-mannered—their personalized, butler-like service was truly heartwarming. The elegant sofas and exquisite decor speak volumes about the hotel's storied history and culture. The renovation seamlessly blends modern comfort and convenience with true luxury. 🚢 Right out back, you're directly at West Lake. Turning right and walking just 15 meters brings you to the Dahua cruise pier, offering hotel guests an exclusive, premium way to tour the lake in complete comfort and style. The second-deck cabin features audio commentary on the sights, which added a fun and informative touch. Getting around the city from the street-facing side is also super convenient. The family rooms are extremely kid-friendly—staying here during the peak season makes for an absolute healing retreat.

I booked a 4-day, 3-night package at the Shangri-La Hotel, Hangzhou, through WeChat Channels, and enjoyed a vacation there from September 9th to September 12th. The hotel is ideally located at the intersection of Beishan Street and Gushan Road, an area rich in Republican-era history. A stroll along West Lake leads directly to Broken Bridge, making its prime location a key reason I chose it for my getaway. The 4-day, 3-night package was all-inclusive (breakfast buffet, afternoon tea buffet, happy hour with dinner buffet including drinks and alcoholic beverages, a boat tour, and a travel photoshoot). I was extremely satisfied with the experience; it offered incredible value for money! I especially want to commend the restaurant staff, Xiao Li, Xiao Zheng, Xiao Chen, and Xiao Liao, for their warm, thoughtful, and responsive service, which made me feel right at home. I heard the hotel is undergoing renovations next year. If they offer another 4-day, 3-night package, I'd definitely book it again, as West Lake in late autumn is even more alluring!

We brought our child for a follow-up visit at the Provincial Children's Hospital and decided to make a little trip out of it. The hotel isn't too far from the hospital, and the river view from our room was stunning. Plus, Super Naierbao, a great place for kids, is just across the street. The only downside was that a typhoon hit, so the rooftop pool was closed – we could only snap a photo. Luckily, the room had a bathtub, which satisfied our child's desire to play in the water. The room itself was standard, but I liked the lounge area on each floor and the spacious atrium in the center. Overall, we were satisfied.

I love it so much... 🥺 My only minor complaint is that it seems a bit far from the city center (and the Hangzhou International Expo Center?), but it's super close to the East Railway Station! The service is outstanding! Housekeeping is super diligent and doesn't even need prompting, and everyone is incredibly friendly TT The front desk even helped me mail a package when I was rushing to catch my train! Getting takeout is also really convenient, and they actually have a fridge, induction cooktop, and a working kettle... This is the only hotel I've ever stayed in while traveling where I dared to use the kettle (lol). It was like opening a mystery box and finding out this one actually *shines*. Ugh, I'll definitely be back! Even if it's far from the expo center, I'll put up with it!

I traveled to Hangzhou after the National Day holiday and chose Xinyu Hotel because of its close proximity to Lingyin Temple, making it a great base for visiting temples in the mountains and hiking. I booked a two-night stay and had a generally wonderful experience. Here are the pleasant surprises about the hotel: 1. The absolute highlight was breakfast. There was a huge variety of very fresh vegetables, and it tasted delicious and felt very healthy. It was so comforting to have a great meal before heading out for a hike. The restaurant environment and decor are also lovely. 2. The room had some thoughtful little details, such as a makeup mirror, which is great for female guests. You can bring it to the window to do your makeup in natural light. 3. The bathtub is large, impeccably clean, and even comes with bath salts—perfect for a relaxing soak after a day of exploring. 4. The room is spacious, with all necessary amenities and well-defined functional zones, making the stay very comfortable and roomy. 5. Check-out time is at 2:0 PM, which means your schedule on the departure day isn't too rushed. However, there were a few minor issues during the stay that I hope the hotel can improve for an even better experience: 1. The lighting in the lobby and elevator lobby is way, way too dim—almost makes you wonder if your vision is failing. 2. The lighting in the shower room is the same; I don't understand why they made it so dark that you practically have to shower in the dark. It's okay during the day because of a translucent glass block wall, which actually made me want to rush back to the hotel early to shower before it got too dark to see clearly. 3. The electric curtain switch was broken. 4. The hair dryer is the old-school kind that gets extremely hot—they really should upgrade to at least a decent 200-yuan Laifen model. 5. The TV is small and doesn't support screen casting. 6. When food deliveries arrive, you have to call the front desk for someone to manually bring it up to the room; there are no delivery robots, which feels burdensome and inconvenient. 7. One day, I wanted to borrow one of the hotel's bicycles to ride around, but found that of the several bikes parked at the entrance, either the keys were lost or the key rings were rusted and hard to unlock. I ended up just looking for a shared bike instead. 8. I hope the front desk can proactively provide some local travel tips. For example, in the Lingyin Temple traffic control zone, ride-hailing cars are not allowed in between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM. You have to take a taxi to the tour bus station first and then transfer to a shuttle bus. Although the hotel looks very close to Lingyin Temple on a map, you still need to make this transfer. Out-of-town tourists have no way of knowing these special regulations.

My last visit was in 2020, and it's been well-maintained; it doesn't feel like six years have passed at all.

The room facilities were very complete, with both a shower and a bathtub, and a great wet/dry separation in the incredibly spacious bathroom! Room service was excellent, very quick to respond. The hotel itself is very grand, with many hot springs pools, and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, all very comfortable. The restaurants are also very impressive, and there are several of them. There's an indoor natural science exhibition where you can learn about animal and plant specimens. The room is also very clean. There are welcome fruits in the room. This time I tasted the local specialty loquat, which tastes very good. Okay, I asked the front desk for the farm address, and took a few boxes back to give to friends. It was a great stay experience. I will make a reservation to come back next year during the Plum Blossom Festival.

Because it's inside the scenic area, you need to use the hotel's electric shuttle for transport, which is available on demand with excellent service. The full-wall aquarium in the hotel lobby is a highlight and very appealing to children. The free breakfast was decent, but it felt a bit underwhelming considering the room price of over 1000.

The room was spacious with comfortable bedding, and staying on a high floor offered a wide view. Breakfast is served on the 26th floor with an even better view and a pleasant dining environment. The food selection was quite diverse, including freshly cooked noodles. Furthermore, the front desk service was excellent; especially a young lady named Gu, who was sincere, attentive, and extremely helpful, making the stay very comfortable. In the last century, whenever I visited Hangzhou, I almost always stayed at Xiling Hotel, likely due to its convenient transportation, and the fact that Xihu State Guest House (Liuzhuang) and Wangzhuang were rarely open to the public. Visiting Liuzhuang usually meant attending banquets, and I was particularly impressed by their famous Beggar's Chicken (wrapped in yellow clay and lotus leaves). Later on, even when I stayed at Wangzhuang, I never got to taste that kind of Beggar's Chicken, which always left a little regret in my heart. This time, for my spouse's birthday, I deliberately arranged a stay at the Xihu State Guest House, largely to finally taste that Beggar's Chicken. Learning of this, the hotel's Zihu Restaurant recommended their ”Lotus Leaf Chicken” to us. Although it lacked the yellow clay, it still tasted quite good. So, on the first day we had the Lotus Leaf Chicken, and on the second day, West Lake Fish in Vinegar Gravy, along with the complimentary birthday cake and birthday noodles provided by your esteemed hotel—it was all simply perfection. Thank you to your hotel for the warm hospitality and the beautiful scenery. This time in Hangzhou, it was the first time we never stepped outside the hotel gates. We came straight from the train station to the hotel, and went straight from the hotel back to the train station, dedicating all our time to Liuyuan. We successfully completed our birthday celebration event, and I want to thank all the staff—especially Chef Yao at Zihu Restaurant, who enthusiastically initiated a friendly chat. That feeling of being better than family was wonderful and particularly precious in today's money-driven era. I also want to thank the two staff members at afternoon tea (on the afternoon of the 19th). Knowing it was my spouse's birthday and that only two people could come for tea, which meant our daughter had to stay behind in the room alone, they immediately invited our daughter to join us for tea. They showed great empathy and understanding, not rigidly bound by dogmatic rules. Thank you very much. I hope to visit again next time. By the way, the showerhead in room 2112 was draining poorly, so we could only use the hand-held spray, and the leftmost hot water tap produced no hot water no matter how long it ran—it might be connected backward, so please kindly check and repair it. Thank you.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and had a luxurious feel that ordinary B&Bs and business hotels can't match. The service was excellent, and the front desk lady was incredibly gentle and kind. The restaurant 🍴 was the absolute best and most satisfying part – beautiful and the food was delicious. Everyone was understanding and reasonable. The entire hotel design was impeccable; this trip was truly worthwhile. The showers at the Four Seasons Hotel are especially comfortable 😌. Loved it, loved it! If I have the chance in the future, I will definitely choose the Four Seasons Hotel again.

We make an annual two-night trip to Hangzhou, and this time we chose the Banyan Tree. I had an impressive experience at the Shanghai Banyan Tree back in 2015, but every property has its own unique style. The Hangzhou resort is nestled inside the Xixi National Wetland Park—a tranquil oasis amidst the hustle and bustle with an exceptional ecological environment. The moment we stepped into the lobby, our eyes were treated to a breathtaking, expansive view that we instantly fell in love with, making it feel like a home away from home for the next two nights. Walking into the guest room brought another pleasant surprise: the mini-fridge was fully stocked with complimentary drinks. The room was spacious, and both the bathroom and living room felt very grand. Stepping out onto the balcony, we were greeted by the delightful fragrance of sweet osmanthus. I just wanted to sit on the terrace, sipping tea and enjoying the floral scent while basking in the heavenly outdoor sunshine. The hotel's night view is equally enchanting, with the lake mirroring the scenery to create a serene and picturesque atmosphere. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety, and what made it even more delightful was sitting by the lake amid the scent of osmanthus, accompanied by a few clever little white ducks hoping for a treat. With such an idyllic lake view, a wonderful day truly begins with a wonderful breakfast. Since it happened to be the osmanthus-blooming season and we had a few sightseeing spots to visit, we didn't have as much time as we would have liked to just relax and enjoy the hotel. In fact, the fragrance of osmanthus all over the property was already intoxicating, with lush osmanthus trees everywhere. Aside from the slightly inconvenient location—driving is recommended—we were completely satisfied with our stay at the Banyan Tree Hangzhou. The service also deserves praise; staff were responsive to every request. We didn't even have time to try out the pool or wellness classes, so two nights felt a bit too short. It's no wonder the hotel is always so popular.

Another great stay, I arrived early and I wasn’t sure of the room would be ready but in fact the manager , Alex, recognized me right away and he explained to me that he knows I prefer to stay on top floor but as they were fully booked the rep out night the rooms were begins cleaned when I was checking in, he arranged one floor below and told me I can change the room when the top floor room is ready. The whole check in went very quick and he was very professional. Actually once I got up to the room just about 10 minutes after they called me and mentioned the room on the top floor is ready. They immediately send someone with the new room card so I didn’t even have to go down to pick up the new room card. This hotel is truly great and I’m always happy to stay there. Highly recommend!

We absolutely love this hotel!! We have been here several times since 2011. It is located a little away from West Lake, with didi that it is so easy to get around! And it is absolutely vital that you can get a break from all the crowds and noise of the big city when you get back to your hotel. Rose Garden is surrounded by green trees and mountains, it’s quite and calm and the outside swimming pool is such an oasis. If it’s raining and thundering, too hot or too cold the indoor pool is also really good, and there are nice sofas around the pool for enjoying yourself. The staff is incredible!!! They are quietly there and super aware of you and your needs. They, especially Stone the manager, helped my husband so much with him planing a surprise visit on our wedding anniversary, they made sure he got upgraded to a better room so he was next to us, helped him send flowers, made a cake for us from them and kept the whole thing a secret from me🌹🩷 They helped me and my daughters order tea to be delivered to the hotel, send a package to a friend in China, remember what we liked to eat and drink in the morning and always kind and aware. I know they work hard and still they always smile at us and are ready to help!! Most of them have worked there for many many years, so they know what they’re doing 👌 I am so grateful, because they are a big part of our visits being so memorable! The hotel is so clean, the rooms a beautiful and spacious and there is a coffee machine in the room 🙏🏻 the restaurant in the hotel is really good Chinese food the Cafe cand make some good western food choices, drinks and ice cream, the breakfast buffet offers a huge selection of Chinese food and western food and fruit, children’s buffet with candyfloss and fun for kids. The whole hotel is quite, tranquil, beautiful, clean and cozy!!! We always get a little sad when we leave and even though we want to travel to se other parts of the world, we always have Rose Garden and Hangzhou in our hearts and plans to come back. And we will🌹🤝🩷

The facilities, location, and service are top-notch by domestic standards. However, as an Aman property, it should probably be compared to international top-tier hotels. Aman resorts in Southeast Asia tend to offer more activities, and even their paid activities are quite unique. Guests are generally more interested in the uniqueness and exclusivity of paid activities rather than the price itself. The rumored exclusive Lingyin Temple activity isn't available, and I don't recall getting a luggage tag, or perhaps I just missed it. In any case, it feels different from Aman properties abroad. Other Amans usually proactively contact guests before check-in to arrange transfers and book activities, but here I had to inquire about everything myself. That said, once I arrived, the various services were quite good. One major issue was the sheer number of mosquitoes. I got more bites on this trip than I have all summer. The mosquito repellent provided was basically useless. The state guesthouse has a special lotion for insect bites, which they might consider offering here.

We enjoyed our stay here, the hotel has upgraded our room. It is very near to the Hangzhoudong railway station. The concierge service is very good. They allowed us for late check-out at 2pm. We even stored our luggage at the hotel since we are travelling to Wuzhen for 1 night stay, this is so convenient as we don't have to drag our luggages to Wuzhen since we are coming back to Hangzhou to take our flight back to Singapore. Staying here is so much better than staying at Xihu area which is overcrowded. Highly recommended. Will definitely stay again if i come to Hangzhou again!
