West Lake Lakeside Area Hangzhou|2.61km from city center
I had a layover in Hangzhou and chose the Grand Metropark Hotel, located in the city center. Overall, my experience was excellent, with warm service, a prime location, and a rich cultural atmosphere.
📍 **Perfect Location, Easy Access to West Lake**
The hotel is situated on the bustling Pinghai Road, about a 10-15 minute walk from West Lake. Intime Department Store, Wushan Night Market, and a subway station are all within walking distance, making it incredibly convenient for dining, shopping, and entertainment. There's also an airport shuttle stop right outside, which is a huge plus for air travelers.
🤝 **Service is the Highlight, Thanks for the Room Upgrade**
I can't praise the hotel's service enough. From the front desk to housekeeping, the staff were all incredibly enthusiastic and attentive. The biggest surprise was during check-in when the front desk proactively upgraded my standard king room to an executive suite. The extra space was much appreciated, and I truly thank them for this thoughtful gesture. Any requests I had during my stay were promptly addressed, reflecting the deep service quality of a seasoned five-star hotel.
🎋 **Suite Facilities Showcase Unique Chinese Charm**
The executive suite's amenities were truly impressive. The bookshelf was filled with classic Chinese books, and picking one up to read felt like a touch of ancient elegance. The desk featured the 'Four Treasures of the Study' (writing brush, ink stick, ink slab, and paper), making you want to try your hand at calligraphy. There was also a Go board, perfect for a leisurely game with family, adding a unique charm. After a busy day, soaking in the massage bathtub melted away all my fatigue. These thoughtful touches elevated the entire stay beyond mere accommodation; it felt like an immersive cultural journey, which my elders particularly enjoyed.
🏨 **The Unique Charm of an Established Hotel**
As one of Hangzhou's older five-star hotels, it lacks the superficiality of newer establishments, instead exuding a settled and composed elegance. The guest rooms are spacious and grand, and both the cleanliness and bedding comfort were top-notch. The hotel's spiral staircase has a charming retro feel, and many guests take photos there, with every shot looking like a professional masterpiece.From€41

Junting Hotel has always been my top choice when traveling, and this time in Hangzhou, I chose it again. It's really convenient, close to Hangzhou East Railway Station, surrounded by many shopping malls, and getting to West Lake is a breeze. The staff, especially 'Sweet Donut' (Tian Tian Quan), provided excellent service. This trip was with my whole family, and to accommodate us on the same floor, they upgraded our rooms for free. Plus, booking a king room came with complimentary crayfish and beer, and the twin room included a complimentary meal for two. It was such a great deal! All the other hotel staff were also very polite, and my family was very satisfied with their stay. I'll definitely choose Junting again next time I'm in Hangzhou.From€60

I initially thought this wasn't a new hotel, so the price was very budget-friendly. But to my surprise, besides the affordable price, the hotel rooms still felt five-star quality, with a very comfortable king-sized bed. Plus, the hotel's location is right next to West Lake; opening the window offers a magnificent panoramic view of the lake – amazing! Finally, I have to give a special shout-out to the hotel service. After booking on Ctrip, a staff member from the hotel's reservation department (I think her name was Shao Linfang) immediately contacted me. After understanding my travel purpose and preferences, she arranged a room with a fantastic view and prime location – excellent! This hotel will definitely be my first choice for future business trips to Hangzhou.From€75

Originally, I planned to stay from the 4th to the 11th, but due to a typhoon forecast, I checked out on the 10th instead. The hotel's location is excellent; it's right across the street from West Lake, and a short walk of less than 300 meters takes you to Intime Department Store. It's also very close to Hefang Street, Hangzhou Museum, Wulin Square, and the Intime in77 shopping area. We visited West Lake, Yanggong Dike, Wetland Park, Wushan, Zhejiang Museum, Hubin Intime in77, and Wulin Night Market, among others. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. All the hotel staff were enthusiastic and attentive. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the food quality was excellent. We had lunch and dinner at the Chinese restaurant from Tuesday to Thursday; the dishes were fresh, exquisite, and delicious – highly recommended. The buffet dinner on Saturday and Sunday was bountiful, with a wide variety of desserts that were beautifully presented. There were three flavors of crayfish, roasted lamb ribs, roasted pork hock, and very authentic and tasty lamb skewers. They also had salmon, tuna, Arctic surf clam, various shellfish, and cheese. I highly recommend the buffet dinner. This was my fourth trip to Hangzhou, and I'm already looking forward to the next one.From€91

The self-service laundry room is definitely the highlight of Zhejiang Hotel. My daughter's seven-day summer camp just ended, and we were continuing our trip after picking her up. Being able to get all our dirty laundry done at the hotel was incredibly convenient. The laundry room is spacious, with plenty of washers and dryers, and a well-thought-out layout. They even provide detergent, an ironing machine, and sewing kits – everything you could need. The hotel's location is also super convenient, right next to a subway entrance. It only took 50 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel, which was even faster than taking a taxi. It's also very close to West Lake and Wulin Night Market; you can just grab a shared bike and be there in a few minutes, much easier than dealing with traffic in a taxi. The room itself is spacious, with two 1.35m beds, which was still plenty of space for a family of three even with an older child. The hotel boasts an excellent location, offering a tranquil retreat while being very close to West Lake. Despite being an older establishment, the room facilities don't feel dated. There's even a dedicated purified water dispenser in the room. It's a pity there isn't a dedicated laundry room. The breakfast is a bit pricey. I heard that the hotel's contract expires in a few months, and it might be repurposed. A big shout-out to the front desk for upgrading me to a room with a window! 👍👍👍From€30

The hotel's location is excellent, just 500m from Longxiangqiao Station on Line 1. It's the perfect walking distance – we basically walked to in77 and West Lake every day without any stress. Getting a taxi to other attractions from here was also convenient. The service was great; when the bed was too soft, they immediately added a firm mattress. The only minor regret is that we didn't get to experience breakfast since it wasn't included, and we spent a fair bit of time foraging for food each morning. However, there are plenty of dining options nearby. The mini-fridge was stocked with an amazing variety of soft drinks, and I have to commend the quality of the toiletries – they really put thought into it. I'm definitely considering staying here again on my next visit.From€42

West Lake Lakeside Area Hangzhou|2.23km from city center
The hotel's location is quite convenient, right by West Lake and close to the boat tours, offering decent views. Its main selling point is the 8th-floor terrace, which provides a panoramic view of West Lake. However, it's unbearable during the day due to direct sun exposure. Traffic can be an issue for getting around, but bicycles are readily available nearby. As for cleanliness, the hotel seems a bit old, with noticeable signs of age in the hardware facilities, so improvements are needed. The service was acceptable, but when we had breakfast, we ate at different times. An older member of our group was told she couldn't use the breakfast area on the first floor and was directed to the 8th floor. The variety on the 8th floor was relatively limited compared to the first floor, and I don't understand why guests from the same room would receive different breakfast arrangements, with separate floors being particularly strange. The apple I had for breakfast was rotten inside, which is the first time I've encountered this during a hotel stay. The breakfast quality on the first floor also has significant room for improvement compared to hotels of a similar star rating. Thankfully, we only stayed for one night.From€180

The Dahua Hotel in Hangzhou boasts a prime location right by West Lake. From your window, you can gaze upon the shimmering lake and the distant emerald hills. The lush ancient trees in the courtyard provide a cool respite from the summer heat, creating a peaceful oasis that shields you from the city's hustle and bustle.
The room decor thoughtfully preserves the elegant charm of the old building. The space is generous and unconfined, the bedding is clean and soft, and every corner is spotless – the attention to detail in cleanliness is truly reassuring.
The service is perfectly attentive. From check-in guidance to responding to requests, everything is prompt and thoughtful without being overly enthusiastic or disruptive to your travel plans, yet help is always available when you need it. Staying here allows you to experience the historical essence of Hangzhou while enjoying a relaxing getaway by West Lake. Feeling incredibly happy at this Hangzhou parent-child hotel! ✨ A special shout-out to the front desk gentleman at Shangri-La!
We originally booked a basic room for our family with kids, but when we checked in, the front desk guy proactively upgraded us to a suite for free. The extra space made a huge difference; our little one could run around freely. They also gave our child a complimentary breakfast, which had everything: Western and Chinese options, local snacks, and even kids' desserts – making breakfast with the little one super easy. The room was quite spacious and clean, and you could see the Qiantang River from the window. Of course, their main draw is the infinity pool, but I couldn't get in because it was raining. Having a drink at the poolside bar was also nice. The facilities are a bit old, and the toilet isn't smart. The breakfast was adequate, but the quality wasn't great; the frozen wontons and noodles had no texture. However, the auntie serving the noodles was very friendly and had a good memory. The fruit at the restaurant wasn't very fresh either. I hope they can improve the breakfast quality, then it would be perfect. i have been to the hot springs three times before but I had never stayed at the hotel. This was my first time.
I imagine the receptionist felt a little nervous when faced with two foreigners and maybe she felt shy. However, I found her lack of greeting, not a 你好 or 下午好, a little cold. When she did communicate with us, it was in super fast Mandarin to which I requested 请慢慢说 to no avail. She repeated just as fast twice more. I felt frustrated and then resorted to using a translation app. She called over an English-speaking Indonesian staff member. I don’t have the expectation that people will speak English to me, but I do appreciate slowing down in Mandarin and using simpler language. Hand gestures help a lot also.
I wish she had told us the WiFi password, and where to access the hot springs. These are two key pieces of information a receptionist should provide when you check into a hot springs hotel.
Our room had plastic flip flops to be worn to the hot springs. My pair had two left feet. When I showed the staff member on the second floor, she was helpful and got me a new pair.
The hot springs were lovely, as usual. The buffet breakfast was better than the buffet dinner.

We went for the infinity pool, with its mountain and water views. The location is nice, but I had to drive to find my room. Even the navigation system couldn't find it, and I had to ask the staff along the way. The only downside is that everything within the resort requires a shuttle bus, which is a long wait. When the bus arrives, you have to ask the driver if it's on your way; if it isn't, you won't be given a seat. There's no one to maintain order, and when it's crowded, there's always scrambling for a seat, sometimes even arguments. For food, we chose the à la carte Chinese restaurant, which cost over 700 yuan. The next day, we went to the pet park, but there were only a few sheep and sika deer, and a bag of carrots cost 20 yuan. Hangzhou Paradise and Huxiang Scenic Area Hangzhou|15.06km from city center
I originally booked this hotel for the convenience of taking my child to Rotten Apple Park (which is directly opposite the hotel, and Hangzhou Paradise is even closer, just across the road). However, the hotel's service was a wonderful surprise, especially the butler, Ranran. She was so enthusiastic, adding me on WeChat beforehand to greet me. Upon check-in, she escorted me to my room, introducing the hotel's features along the way (she had already prepared the child's bed rail and potty that I requested in the room). She responded promptly to all my WeChat requests (providing bath bags, refilling bottled water, etc.). She even thoughtfully reminded me of meal times and locations before dinner and had a deer-shaped cart ready for my child when we went downstairs (my child absolutely loved it).
The First World Hotel is a hotel with a strong tropical feel (in a Southeast Asian style). It's very large and has a domed garden with many tropical plants (the hotel upgraded our room to one with a terrace, which opens directly to this garden. It rained on our first day, but there was no rain noise at all in the room). The hotel also has the Yunman Hot Springs, which I didn't get to try this time as I didn't bring a bathrobe, but it looked great, and I plan to come back for it! There's ample parking. I arrived by high-speed rail, and the front desk even proactively asked if I drove and if I needed a parking voucher.
Overall, as a family-friendly hotel, it made me, a first-time solo parent traveling with a young child, feel incredibly well taken care of. I will definitely be back! Booked this for my parents' relaxing trip to Hangzhou. I saw on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform) that the service was top-notch. Some people even said it wasn't good, but then there were loyal fans defending it, saying 'you're talking nonsense!' 😆 I figured if a hotel could generate such devoted followers, it must be good, so I booked it without hesitation. The next day, I went to visit my parents. The hotel offers a free shuttle service from the Yunqi Bamboo Trail scenic area to the hotel. The drive through the bamboo forest, right within the scenic area, was absolutely beautiful! The entire building is said to be an old Republican-era structure. The design is very distinctive, with many picturesque spots for photos.
Even though I booked the cheapest room, the view was still excellent. The complimentary welcome fruit was high-quality, including some expensive mini apples. The afternoon tea was also lovely. The staff were enthusiastic and all wore smiles, even taking the time to explain the hotel's history and origins in detail. They were also very knowledgeable about nearby restaurants and attractions.
My parents were very happy with the Chinese restaurant next to the hotel as well.

The hotel also has many other facilities, like an infinity pool and a small animal feeding area, which are great for couples and kids. The hotel was alright and offered a good experience. The floor-to-ceiling windows were a nice touch, but the interior facilities are quite old. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety, with plenty of hot and cold dishes, fruits, and drinks, satisfying all basic meal needs.
The only downside is that the hotel is quite old. The indoor furniture, bathroom fixtures, and TV all show clear signs of age, and some appliances look worn and didn't offer the best user experience. If they were to renovate the facilities, it could easily be a five-star experience.From€97

The hotel's surroundings and interior are excellent, like a large garden. The lobby, elevators, and rooms are all decorated with Liangzhu-style features. What's most commendable is how spotlessly clean everything is, even the changing rooms and showers by the pool are impeccably tidy. Definitely a big thumbs up!
The room itself is huge, with an empty, spacious living area, and the bedroom is also very generous. The only odd thing is the small sink, which feels out of place given the immense space.

This hotel is perfect for a trip with parents. Given their generation, they'll appreciate staying at a hotel once frequented by Chairman Mao. The State Guesthouse boasts a prime location by West Lake, and after a early summer rain, it feels like a magical wonderland. The grounds are expansive, featuring various garden landscapes and even a small hill to climb. I'd recommend staying at least two nights! Overall, the experience was truly beyond five stars.
The hotel is located in the Xin'an district, offering a peaceful, comfortable, and serene environment. The hotel's decor, overall construction planning, and garden maintenance are all top-notch. The ambiance exudes a strong, calming energy that makes you feel incredibly relaxed. The environment alone definitely earns more than five stars.
The front desk service was meticulous, but that's standard for any Four Seasons hotel.
The Jin Sha restaurant within the hotel was absolutely superb; the food was truly delicious and offered incredible value for money. Their Western restaurant was equally excellent, and the cocktails at the lobby lounge were also high quality. Even a simple Gin & Tonic showed attention to detail in both the gin and tonic water. Ordering a drink also came with homemade snacks and olives.
Breakfast was absolutely divine. Enjoying breakfast while overlooking the beautiful garden was a pure delight!
The hotel's in-house professional photography service was also top-tier. The makeup, costumes, and professionalism of the shoot were all first-rate.
The room was the only slight drawback. It wasn't an issue of being old; although it has some years on it, it's clearly well-maintained with tasteful materials, giving it a distinctive character. However, room 106, which I was assigned, was completely different from the Garden View King Room advertised on Ctrip's pictures. Being a corner room, it had poor lighting and a restricted view. The scenery and environment of the small outdoor pavilion were also very mediocre. One side was against a wall and a corridor, which felt very unpleasant. Had I known this, I wouldn't have spent an extra 2,000 yuan to choose this room (7,700+ per night). If this room is an anomaly, I suggest not assigning it to direct booking guests in the future. Wouldn't it be better to reserve it for VIP upgrades? (You can see details of the garden view in pictures 2-5).
Oh, and the private boat tour, while expensive, was worth it. I recommend gathering 6 people; it's very comfortable and offers decent value for money.
I still gave a full five-star rating because other aspects surpassed a five-star level, thus compensating for the room's shortcomings. Future guests booking the Deluxe Garden View King Room should be cautious. I recommend choosing other room types.From€534

They even gave me a luggage tag as a gift!
The hotel is located within the scenic area, so the environment is naturally beautiful, very quiet, secluded, and a perfect escape from the bustling city. It's truly an ideal spot for a vacation! I highly recommend staying here! If I have the time and the means, I'll definitely be back!
In short, this is a must-stay hotel, and it certainly won't disappoint its guests!From€799

First time travelling to Hangzhou and I enjoyed my stay in Conrad Hangzhou. The service was great, appreciate the birthday cake for my birthday celebration. The express laundry was also superb as I was able to receive my clothes before 10am the next day after sending in my clothes for laundry after check in. Thanks for giving me such a great view room, I enjoyed my breakfast in bed with such great morning view and the bed was amazing. I can lie down on the bed whole day it feels like I’m lying on cloud.. almost wanted to buy the bedding home haha. Will recommend and come back to stay the next time I visit Hangzhou.From€169

This stay was fantastic! The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient to get around. The room was spacious and bright, spotlessly clean, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The elegant surroundings ensured a great night's sleep. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and both check-in and check-out were very efficient. The facilities are comprehensive, and the breakfast was varied and delicious. It offers incredible value for money, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time!!From€31

I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Hangzhou. It's really comfortable, clean, and quiet. The breakfast has a good variety, and the surrounding facilities are great, making it super convenient to get anywhere. When my friend and I were chatting in the lobby, the front desk staff even brought us water – they were so warm and friendly, and the service was excellent. They helped me receive a package and even helped me unbox and organize it. I loved it!~From€44

Wulin Square/Hangzhou Center Hangzhou|2.22km from city center
The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft and incredibly comfortable. The bathroom had no strange odors, and the hot water came on very quickly. The front desk attendant checked me in within minutes. The hallway was quiet and not noisy at all. The location was easy to find, and it was convenient to go out for meals and shopping. Downstairs, there were various convenience stores and small restaurants, so the amenities were complete. There were also enough power outlets for charging. It offers great value for money, with no hidden fees. My overall experience exceeded expectations, and I'll definitely choose this place again next time. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling!From€33

Linping New Town Hangzhou|15.81km from city center
Because I worked near Josi, I chose this hotel. The arrival time on the same day was already late at night. I made a note on Ctrip, I hope it is a non-smoking room. The high floor is far from the elevator. The hotel well recognized my needs and was very enthusiastic about upgrading. Considering that I didn't book breakfast, I also gave a free breakfast. Thank you very much. Back to the topic, let's talk about the hotel's own stay experience. To be honest, it's not a last resort, I haven't stayed for a long time. Domestic non-chain brands also have 1 point before check-in. Actually, I think I should give a good price rating. First of all, I think the size of the room is OK, not crowded, and the equipment and facilities are very complete. The facilities are also very easy to use and no defects are found. Sleeping well all night. The breakfast the next morning, I think it should be praised, whether it is the variety. Or the service of the restaurant makes people feel like a spring breeze. Finally, I want to say two small flaws. First of all, the glass in the shower room is too dirty and has been covered with pulp. A little point is deducted here. Secondly, the cold dish cold mixing area of the breakfast room. There are some cold dishes. Unable to clamp, it means that the ice may be too long. The above two small suggestions are that the hotel can improve immediately at low cost. Finally, I want to say a little extra topic. I understand the hotel very much. Need to be praised on a third-party platform. But I personally don't accept it. The active invitation-style way to give praise. It is even more unacceptable to let customers comment according to the wishes of the hotel in a rewarding way. Of course, this is my pure personal feeling. The overall flaw of the hotel is not concealed, it is still recommended to stay, especially in the Josi area. Is a good choice.From€38
