Great! The ski slopes are open year-round. I recommend buying a 2-day pass, which allows unlimited access to the slopes. Single-day or hourly passes only allow one entry/exit. Equipment rental on the slopes is included in the pass price, but if you want better equipment, there are rental shops outside the mall at reasonable prices, around 700 baht per day. Food is plentiful; you can eat outside the mall, or for convenience, there's a McDonald's on the second floor.

The newly renovated room type has excellent hardware. We took our child to the high-speed rail for a study tour, and it's super convenient, only a 2-3 minute walk from the East Station. The buffet dinner and breakfast offer a wide variety of dishes, and the taste is decent. Anmi Peng, the lady at the front desk, was enthusiastic and professional; she even helped us switch to a king-size room with a better view.

Oakwood Premier is extremely convenient - just one metro station ride on Line 1 from Guangzhou East rail station, and <10 mins walk from Exit A. The check in, restaurant and housekeeping staff members are courteous and responsive to our needs - extra towels, restaurant bookings etc. It is a welcoming change from other hotel chains in other countries which we experienced lately. The room is clean and spacious. There is however too many furniture (probably due to accommodating long term guests who need plenty of storage). Less furniture would be ideal with more walking space and effective opening of doors, eg bedroom door, if open, will block access to the wardrobe door. The breakfast buffet spread is sufficient - Chinese and western dishes. The dining room is huge, bright and spacious with large windows. The F&B knowledge could be improved though eg having available the appropriate condiments with the buffet items (calamari rings, delicious but no dips to go with), fresh waffle with no maple syrup (just 4 different fruit jams and 1 peanut butter options), crispy bacon (but not cripsy in reality), Chinese dim sum (with no chili oil/sauce, vinegar etc) at lukewarm temperature (the steaming switch was deliberately kept at OFF though I switched it to ON several times.) We will be back though. The value is in the location, clean and spacious room. Not the food.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Asia International Hotel. I was extremely satisfied with the overall experience. The breakfast was extensive and offered a wide variety of options, all while enjoying a beautiful panoramic view, which made the mornings even more special. The swimming pool was also a great addition—clean, relaxing, and perfect to unwind after a busy day. What stood out most was the staff. They were very friendly and helpful, and communication in English was excellent, which made everything easy and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.

Our whole family had a wonderful time visiting Guangzhou, and we're so glad we chose the Westin Guangzhou Hotel 🏨 It's within walking distance of Guangzhou East Railway Station, and there are plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options nearby. Service: The service was incredibly thoughtful. It was my first time receiving a handwritten note, and it truly touched my heart and made me feel so warm. Facilities: The room was very spacious, and all the amenities were great 👍 The breakfast selection and quality were both excellent.

Pros: The hotel has an excellent location, close to many well-known restaurants and shopping malls, making it very convenient to get almost anything you need. The staff were polite and always greeted us warmly. They also tried their best to fulfil my requests noted in the booking remarks. As I was travelling with elderly parents, they kindly arranged anti-slip mats for every bathroom. Many tables were also fitted with protective coverings to help reduce the risk of injury. Cons: The bathroom floor towel had a lipstick stain. I also requested a bolster, but instead received two pillows tied together, which was a bit disappointing. The lift can be quite slow. Overall: My parents and I enjoyed our stay at Fraser and would consider staying again!

Cleanliness, service, and standards are all at Hilton-level. The quality of the bedding was amazing; I didn't want to get out of bed. Breakfasts are decent, offering both European and Chinese cuisine. Just a heads-up, you need a swim cap to use the pool. The hotel is a little dated, but it's well-built and conveniently located. We arrived around 11 PM, and the front desk staff was incredibly quick with our check-in. Decided to stay at a 5* hotel as it was my birthday. Room was smaller than expected and the check in lady said room was upgraded which didn’t appear to be as room appeared to be basic. As it was my bday i asked the hotel if they had anything complimentary for someone celebrating their bday to which she said fruit platter then added some dim sum..acceptable but would be nice if they arranged without me asking. Hotel is a bit old and they were renovating so very noisy during day. The breakfast was very good as had good variety of food. Location is also convenient as 2 mins from metro. Reception is big but not enough seats All in all would hv expected something more for a 5* hotel

Tianhe Stadium/TaiKoo Hui Guangzhou|0.94km from city center
I first stayed at Sofitel last July during my initial visit to Guangzhou. A year later, I'm back again, and let me cut to the chase: its value for money in Guangzhou is virtually unmatched. Stepping into Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich again after a year, the overall vibe is distinctly different from Mandarin Oriental, Ritz-Carlton, or Park Hyatt. As you enter the lobby, French vintage carvings blend seamlessly with Lingnan rosewood furnishings, and you'll spot gilded vine patterns everywhere. Paired with Sofitel's signature rose fragrance, it perfectly merges French light luxury elegance with local Lingnan heritage. The decor is soft yet grand, understated but inherently sophisticated. Upon learning it was my return visit after a year, they thoughtfully upgraded me to a high-floor city view room for free. I really have to commend the staff member, Dion. Even though Sofitel isn't a top-tier luxury hotel with 'personal butlers,' Dion acted just like one throughout my stay – always responsive, accommodating, efficient, and incredibly friendly. They treated me with such respect, making me feel incredibly comfortable 🥰. Entering the room, I was met with a strong sense of old-money aesthetics from an era of economic boom. The room also offered a beautiful view of Canton Tower, which I loved. I'm a big fan of Sofitel's fragrance (be it Guiyang, Changzhou, Haikou, Foshan, etc.); they all hit just the right note for me, maintaining regional distinctiveness within a similar scent profile. The hotel's standard Lanvin toiletries further highlight the meticulous service and premium amenities, which at this price point, make it an incredibly high-value stay. Now, after discussing the brilliant advantages, let me mention two minor drawbacks. Firstly, the speaker isn't smart enough and lacks Bluetooth connectivity. Secondly, due to the recent frequent rain in Guangzhou, the outdoor view wasn't particularly good, but that's a seasonal issue. These minor flaws didn't detract from my overall stay experience; they weren't critical issues. All in all, returning to Sofitel Sunrich after a year, both the hotel's unique blend of Chinese and French design and the concierge's attentive service remained exceptionally high standard. It definitely surpasses other five-star hotels at a similar price point and even rivals luxury hotels in some aspects. I look forward to staying here again on my next trip to Guangzhou 🥰.

Facilities: Well-equipped, American-style decor, everything is online and timeless. Hygiene: Established cleanliness, but details like table corners could use more attention. Environment: You can shop, eat, drink, play, and visit a museum all within the hotel. Service: Everyone is on point, and the switchboard processes calls immediately. As the only national brand among China's three platinum five-star hotels, it boasts unique historical and cultural elements, and is a symbol of China's reform and opening-up. Its history and ethos are evident. My first impression during check-in was that everyone was very busy; while check-in was slow, the staff were very pleasant. As a Lingkehui Gold Card member, in addition to a room upgrade, I also received complimentary breakfast and executive lounge access. If room availability allows, late checkout until 2 PM is possible. The hotel has a very high occupancy rate, with many foreign guests and airline crew. There might be some communication gaps between departments like housekeeping and restaurants. This time, my Deluxe King room was upgraded to a Red Kapok King Suite. The room, being older, combined with ongoing government construction nearby, meant the soundproofing was a bit lacking. The extra bed was too soft and a bit uncomfortable, and some other hardware in the room was a bit dated, but it didn't detract too much from the stay. On the first floor, there's an outdoor back garden with a small waterfall, both popular photo spots. I saw many people taking pictures, it was lively. The ornamental fish in the pond were huge. On the 4th floor, there's a free, public Garden Hotel Museum (closed Mondays), which is well worth a visit, explaining the development history of various hotels and just how amazing Garden Hotel is. You really must spend some time exploring it. The gym (well-equipped) and outdoor swimming pool (not heated) are on the other side of the 4th floor, with two squash courts (reservation required). All hotel signage is in Chinese, English, and Japanese. There's currently construction outside the hotel (the typical 'dong dong dong' sound of Guangzhou)... You really should experience our Garden Hotel with its Lingnan characteristics.

This is a classic hotel in the heart of Guangzhou, and its location is really good. The exterior also looks quite grand. The rooms are spacious, and the views from them are very nice. You can also go up to the 63rd floor for an even better view. Breakfast was decent, but it was a shame that during my three-day stay, the noodle station only had a chef on the last morning. I found the front desk service quite subpar. I waited in line for ages, and several male receptionists kept ignoring me or shunting me to a different queue. They were busy chatting casually with the guests in front of them and didn't bother calling the next person. They spent half an hour on pointless conversation, and it felt like it would never end. I was so annoyed waiting that they finally called out a female receptionist from the back to help me with my room card. Also, in the lobby, we were dragging our luggage around, and no staff member came over to offer assistance. Overall, I felt there was hardly any service. There's no self-service laundry room, which I think is a significant drawback. Since there are no room service robots, I had to go up and down to collect my food orders every time, which was a real hassle. The room hygiene was good, but I find it incredibly stingy for a five-star hotel to charge for a tiny bit of coke and other items in the minibar. Many hotels now offer complimentary minibars. To sum it up: excellent location, outdated facilities, and a poor service experience.

After a fresh rain in the mountains, I unexpectedly encountered a 'lying flat' Thai-style getaway in Guangzhou 🌿. I took advantage of the weekend to stay at the Dusit Thani Conghua, and happened to catch a rain shower. The air was filled with the scent of earth and fresh grass, truly embodying the phrase 'after a fresh rain in the mountains' – it's the perfect spot for a weekend staycation! The hotel features a collection of Thai-style villas, nestled by mountains and water. The public areas are adorned with tropical plants, and peacocks leisurely roam around, making me feel like I was back in Chiang Mai for a moment. The infinity pool and the bird's nest hot springs are especially photogenic. If you come on a weekday, you can practically have the hot springs all to yourself – truly chill. I particularly want to commend Luke for his butler service. From reminders about my itinerary before check-in to fulfilling various requests after check-in, his responses were always prompt and proactive. He was attentive without being intrusive, which made for an excellent impression. If you're looking to escape the concrete jungle of the city and find a quiet place to relax for a couple of days, this would be a great choice.

The hotel facilities are comprehensive, providing a one-stop shop for hot springs and relaxation. It's perfect for family trips or a relaxing getaway, and a top choice for hot springs around Guangzhou and Foshan. I'll definitely be back!

The room was very spacious, and the courtyard environment was quite pleasant with almost no insects, making evenings quite comfortable. However, could the bed linen, living room pillowcases, and chair cushions be changed more frequently? They were a bit dirty; I didn't even dare to sit on them. The hot spring bath was very comfortable; the water could be refilled endlessly without extra charge, which was great. The pool was also quite clean. The restaurant food was just so-so, nothing special to mention. I'd recommend eating at a nearby farmhouse instead.

My parents were happy with it, and that's all that matters. We specifically booked it for the private hot spring, and I was pleasantly surprised to find the room was quite spacious, which was a plus. My only minor quibble is that there aren't many public baths, and it would be great if there were more entertainment options.

The room was excellent, with a good amount of space. The front desk upgraded us to a high-floor smart room, which was spotlessly clean. The disposable amenities were a bit basic but covered the essentials, and the toiletries for washing and showering were of good quality. The service was also great; perhaps because of the high temperatures during the day, the hotel even provided herbal tea to every guest, which was very much appreciated! Although this hotel is rated 4-star, I felt it was better than some 5-star hotels in Guangzhou. The breakfast and lunch offerings were both very good, and there's even morning tea available on the top floor. We didn't even need to go out for food during this trip to Guangzhou, as we could enjoy authentic local cuisine right in the hotel. It offered incredible value for money and was a really fantastic experience.

I often choose to stay at W hotels, and for this trip with my child, I specifically picked this one. It's perfectly suited for travel, with good natural light in the room and immaculate housekeeping. The facilities are comprehensive, making for a truly relaxing stay after a busy day. A big thanks to Natty, our butler, who contacted me by phone before check-in to arrange the room. Also, April Grace at check-out was incredibly friendly and helpful, making the check-in process efficient. The location is also convenient for getting around. I highly recommend it for both short-term and long-term business trips or leisure travel. 😜

Guangzhou Dongfang Hotel exceeded our expectations. The beautifully landscaped gardens create a peaceful atmosphere. The breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay, offering a wide selection of fresh and flavorful dishes. We also appreciated the spacious, well-equipped fitness center, which made it easy to keep up with our workout routine while traveling. Most of all, we were impressed by the exceptional service. Every staff member we encountered was courteous and eager to help. Our sincere thanks to Celine, Jack, and Evan for their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail, which made our stay especially enjoyable. We would gladly choose Guangzhou Dongfang Hotel again on our next visit to Guangzhou.

Location & Surroundings: The hotel is situated in Huacheng Hui Central, surrounded by numerous shopping malls, making it convenient for shopping and dining. From the hotel lobby, you can see the Canton Tower and the East and West Towers. The only minor inconvenience is that the hotel lobby is on the 22nd floor, while guest rooms are on floors below the lobby. So, every time you return to your room, you have to take one elevator to the 22nd floor, and then another elevator down to your room floor. Service: Overall, the service was quite good, but food deliveries are not allowed to be brought to the room; only other types of deliveries are permitted. Room Layout & Facilities: I stayed in a twin room. The room's layout and flow weren't very practical. Upon entering, you have to navigate a narrow turn before reaching the bedroom area. The shower and bathtub are right next to each other, and there are very few flat surfaces in the room to place belongings, including by the bedside.

My first time in Guangzhou was fantastic! I'll definitely be staying here again next time I visit. The staff were all so kind and welcoming. As soon as my taxi pulled up, someone was there to help with my luggage. The room was huge and super clean, and the extensive use of red cave stone was really beautiful. The bedding and linens were high-thread-count and very comfortable. Plus, having a mall right downstairs made shopping incredibly convenient. They were also very prompt and professional in helping resolve any issues. My trip was too rushed this time to try the dining or the cakes, but next time I'd love to stay a whole day without even leaving the hotel!

I initially booked this hotel based on recommendations from Xiaohongshu users. Since I was traveling to Guangzhou with my child, I wanted to explore the city center for the first two days. Given the rainy season, I looked for a hotel with a pool and a good location. This one was highly recommended for its excellent service and indoor/outdoor pools. My child is very active, so I chose a loft room. It was on the 53rd floor with an amazing view! As soon as we entered, my child loved climbing the stairs. The service was also excellent; they brought complimentary sweet soup to our room every evening, and room service even delivered food from outside, which was very thoughtful. The only minor downside was the lack of bubble bath. Previous high-end hotels I've stayed at offered bubble bath or bath bombs, but this one only had bath salts, so my child could only soak in plain water. Due to the rain, we didn't use the outdoor pool, but the indoor pool was more than enough. It had a glass window overlooking the surroundings, making for a lovely environment.

A surprisingly pleasant stay! I encountered a typhoon during my trip, but the hotel conveniently offers a Chinese restaurant, a food street, and various chain brand dining options, so I didn't even have to leave to get a good meal. The hotel is also just a few hundred meters' walk from a commercial street, a museum, and a large park, making its location absolutely fantastic with plenty of bustling activity nearby. A big thank you to the front desk for upgrading my room type. The room was spotlessly clean, and I felt that the facilities and amenities provided were on par with other five-star hotels in the city. The housekeeping staff were warm and friendly. I'll definitely prioritize staying at China Hotel next time I'm in the area.

Had a staycation day at Rosewood! Big thanks to Winston for the thoughtful arrangements. The room view was fantastic, and communication throughout was efficient and pleasant. All three room service deliveries arrived much faster than the estimated time, and they're available 24/7. The bathroom's fixtures and fittings were great to use; it was very comfortable to sit and do makeup there, and the toiletries were also excellent. The only thing was that I couldn't find a comb in the amenity kit. Funnily enough, I stumbled upon one in a box in the restaurant's restroom the next morning, haha! 😂 Of course, if anything was missing or needed in the room, they were very quick to respond and provide it. The pillows here were a bit high and soft for me, but I was a bit lazy to request a change. I bet the square blocks on this grapefruit cake are designed to look like the square pillows in the room – so cute! 😁

The hotel is wow! They have free transportation from terminals. If you arrived at terminal 2, after passing passport control, go to the second floor to departure hall and find exit 46. The bus from the hotel will pick you up right there, outside the exit. Reception guys are very helpful, they helped with your luggage and anything you need. The room itself is very spacious. The floor in the room is so soft, like a cloud! The bed is very comfortable, pillows just amazing! The bath robe is so soft, double layered, I loved it. All you need you have in a room. Only one thing can be improved, could be nice if there would be face wash and face lotion at least. Overall, very pleasant stopover experience. Would book again for longer stopover to discover hotel’s spa and restaurant.

We chose the Guangzhou Four Seasons for our anniversary. It's been a while since we last visited, and it's even more beautiful after the renovation. They called beforehand to ask about our check-in needs, and the room was a wonderful surprise! They said it was just a simple setup, but they also gave us chocolates and red wine. A huge thank you to Claire, Emily, and Zoey for their thoughtful, attentive, and thorough service. We'll definitely be back! This is, in my opinion, the number one hotel in Guangzhou. The environment, service, ambiance, and overall check-in experience were absolutely perfect! And the breakfast was delicious too, with a rich variety of options and so many mini cakes. The only downside was the foggy weather; next time we'll come back on a clear day to get a full view of the Canton Tower.

This was by far the most comfortable hotel I stayed at during the May Day holiday in Guangzhou and Shenzhen! At first, navigating there felt a bit 'remote,' but once inside, it was a pleasant surprise. The shuttle driver in the morning was also excellent; he proactively helped open doors and carry luggage. The front desk lady was very pretty and kind. I'll definitely be back if I need to stay near the airport again! (The room in the picture looks a bit small, but it's actually quite spacious.)

This hotel was perfect for attending Chen Chusheng's concert. It's just one subway stop from University Town, so getting back to the hotel quickly after the show was a breeze. A big shout-out to Guangzhou's excellent management; the order was fantastic! The hotel's location deserves full marks – it's right by subway exit A, super close! 😁 The higher floor offered great views, and the room was spacious. The breakfast had delicious bread and waffles 🧇, tasty freshly made rice noodles, and plenty of fruit. We enjoyed the views while we ate. Both the floor staff and the ground floor attendants were very friendly. If you have time, you can also walk along the greenway on the island. The only downside is the price, around 500 a night, but overall, it was a good experience.

The hotel is 3 minutes from Shiqiao station. There is a bus line in front of the hotel that takes you to Shawan old town and other sites. It is across from a local mall with a lot of eateries. My only complaint is the cloth drier is hard to use without WeChat pay. Anyway, it is a good stay at this property.

The room was very clean, which is the most important thing. It's also very close to the subway station and Shenzhen East Railway Station. In the summer, you can easily walk from the hotel to the subway entrance via an underground passage without being exposed to the sun, which is very comfortable. I've stayed here multiple times already.

What to Prepare for a Trip to China?

  • Visa & Entry Tips China’s 240-hour visa-free transit policy now covers 54 countries, incl. the US, UK, Canada, and Brazil, allowing up to 10 days during layovers. Learn more about China Entry Tips to land in China easily.
  • Getting Connected VPNs are vital for accessing Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc in China. Set one up before arriving. China eSIMs are the easiest option for data and bypassing restrictions. Pocket Wi-Fi devices work best for group but are pricier and require pickup/return.
  • Money Exchange & Tax Refunds Exchange money in China banks (better rates than airports). ATMs accept foreign cards, but notify your bank first. For tax refunds, spend over ¥500 at stores with a "Tax-Free" sign. Keep receipts and get forms stamped at customs before departure.

Must-Have Apps in China

  • China Payment Apps Forget cash. Chinese use Alipay (I like it better) or WeChat Pay to pay for everything in China. Scan a QR code at noodle stalls, metros, even temples. Link your foreign Visa/Mastercard before landing.
  • China Map Apps Amap (Gaode Map) & Baidu Map (limited English) is what locals use, with real-time navigation, metro/bus routes, and traffic updates. Apple Maps does a good job too if you're already an IOS user.
  • China Transport Apps Street taxis are cheap, but drivers rarely speak English. Use China Taxi App like DiDi (China’s Uber)—set your destination in English, pay by Alipay.
  • China Travel Apps 15+ China trips taught me: Use Trip.com. It's the best English app for booking China trains/flights/hotels + finds Trip.com deals.
  • China Dating Apps Locals use Tantan (China’s Tinder) and Momo. WeChat’s “People Nearby” works too, but expect language barriers unless your Mandarin’s decent.
  • China Food App Use Meituan (also helps find nearby restaurants) or Ele.me for food delivery—both have English mode. No English menu in restaurants? Scan the QR with Alipay's translator.
