Booked this for a day trip to Switzerland from Italy (my coverage didn't include Switzerland in my plan). Installed it at my hotel in Milan and surprisingly it worked even there so was able to stay connected for the whole day, even during my time in Switzerland, and then back home to Milan. Fast and stable connection and very easy setup.

The zones concept is a bit harder to grasp at first but this is one of the best value eSIMs on the market. The best cost performance in South America by far with a decent latency. Exit point and IP is in France.

What is a Switzerland eSIM? Basic info about Switzerland eSIM

What is a Switzerland eSIM? Basic info about Switzerland eSIM

eSIM, short for embedded SIM, is a digital SIM card. Instead of a physical card, eSIM technology is built right into your phone. It allows you to activate a cellular plan from your carrier without having to use a physical SIM card. This makes it easier to switch between carriers and plans, and also allows for dual SIM functionality on devices with a single SIM slot.

eSIM is easy to use and can be activated or deactivated as per the user's needs. It's also more convenient for devices with no room for a physical SIM, like smartwatches and other wearable devices.

What is the best option for travelling to Switzerland? eSIM vs. Sim card vs. Wifi Router

What is the best option for travelling to Switzerland? eSIM vs. Sim card vs. Wifi Router
The best option for travelling to Switzerland really depends on your specific needs, preferences, and the length of your stay. Here's a brief comparison of the three options:

Features

eSIM

SIM Card

WiFi Router

Pros

Convenient, no need to worry about losing or damaging;

Allow dual Sim functunality

Usually cheaper than an eSIM or WiFi router;

Wide availability

Can connect multiple devices;

Compatible to various devices

Cons

Not all devices support eSIM;

More expensive

Can be inconvenient;

Have the chance of losing and damaging

Not as portable as a SIM card or eSIM;

Can be expensive

In conclusion, the best option depends on your specific needs. If you value convenience and flexibility, an eSIM might be the best choice. If you're on a budget, a SIM card could be better. If you're traveling in a group or need a stable internet connection, a WiFi router might be the best option.

3 Benefits of Switzerland eSIMs

3 Benefits of Switzerland eSIMs

1. Cost-Effective

Switzerland eSIMs can save you a lot of money, especially if you are a frequent traveler. Traditional roaming charges can be quite expensive, but with an eSIM, you can choose a local data plan and avoid these extra costs.

2. Convenience

eSIMs are embedded in your device, eliminating the need for physical SIM cards. This means you can switch between carriers or plans without having to swap out different SIM cards. It also makes it easier to connect to the internet as soon as you arrive in Switzerland.

3. Flexibility

With an eSIM, you have the flexibility to choose and change your data plan at any time. You can also have multiple plans installed on your eSIM, allowing you to switch between them as needed. This is particularly useful for people who travel frequently or have different data needs at different times.

The location is super convenient, right in the city center. It's about a 10-minute walk to Zurich HB (main train station), and there's a supermarket and the Limmat River nearby. It's also very close to the Swiss National Museum, Bahnhofstrasse, and the Old Town, making getting around incredibly easy. The room was clean and comfortable. We stayed in a renovated room in the north wing, so the facilities felt quite new. The bedding was very comfortable, and for European standards, the room size was quite spacious.

An old luxury hotel with a very good location, right by the lake. It is very convenient to eat, drink and shop around. The room facilities are also well maintained. Fruits and bottled water are provided every day. Flowers are carefully placed in the room. It is indeed Warm-hearted and has the feel of old-style luxury.

The hotel is located in the center of Zurich and is very artistic. It is recommended that everyone come to live in their room with murals, which is very retro. Good service, not many categories for breakfast (almost 5 star hotels in Switzerland are like this), hotel valet parking! !

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in the center of Vienna. The location was perfect, with many attractions, restaurants, and shops within walking distance. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The breakfast offered a great selection of fresh food, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zurich and would be happy to stay here again.

The room is clean but it’s cramped, hard to move fast. The front desk staff in the morning particularly the guy is rude. We were a bit early for breakfast because they changed their time from 6:30 to 7am which we aligned for our day activity. When i asked if we can just sit inside while waiting for a few minutes before 7am, he answered me rudely saying “as i said..”, but when we came inside at 7:01am, there were already people eating there, 2 pairs i saw. This is rude because we were pressed for time as we have to catch up the tour bus and we paid for the breakfast knowing the time is 6:30am but they changed it the night before and they let other people in while we just requested to be seated inside while waiting for 7am. Most of their staff are rude. Only the guy at the breakfast checkin is nice.

Hotel is situated right in the heart of Zurich next to the Central Tram/ Bus stop and five minutes walk from the Zurich HB main station. Our room was small but clean and very comfortable with a view over looking the water and the Central stop. Although the hotel is situated next to the funicular railway we never heard it from our room. We were on the 4th floor and with the window open, you can hear quite a bit of street noise. However with the window closed, it is minimal and we always got a good night's sleep. The room didn't get too hot despite it being very warm while were in Zurich. There was a standalone fan in the room which we used once. Hotel Wi-Fi was free and worked well while we there. The staff were very friendly and spoke English. The Hotel has a restaurant which also does breakfast, however cannot comment on this as we chose to eat out. There are lots of restaurants and cafes in the area. Also handy is a coop supermarket a few minutes away which does a good range of snacks, sandwiches and salads.

The room is great, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. BUT: upon check-in, I was asked to leave MY CREDIT CARD on file for the duration of my stay! This was despite the room already being paid for and charged to my credit card. Of course, I indignantly refused. Then I was asked to put down a 100€ deposit, which I equally firmly rejected (I didn't even have any Euros on me anyway... it was a spur-of-the-moment idea to be in Zurich!). The justification given was that I might raid the minibar without paying, but it was empty anyway. Mercifully, I was then allowed to check into my room without leaving any deposit.

I highly recommend this hotel! The location is excellent, just a ten-minute walk from the main train station, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The room was exactly as described, perfect for a solo business traveler or tourist – just the right amount of space, and the bathroom was especially spacious and comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly, and it offered great value for money. I'd probably choose this hotel again next time I'm in Zurich.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the Swiss National Museum, and within walking distance of ETH Zurich, making it convenient to get anywhere. We arrived in Zurich from Interlaken earlier than scheduled, and the front desk kindly arranged a room for us before the official check-in time, which we greatly appreciated. The bar on the ground floor is very popular, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of dried fruits. There was a bottle of drinking water in the room, but we had to contact customer service to get slippers. Unfortunately, outside our window was a construction site with a building under construction, causing a lot of noise.

The hotel is almost perfect in every area. The staff are helpful and very friendly. It is located right in the Old Town and very near the river, the main train station as well as main tourist attractions. There are also eateries nearby to suit every kind of preference and budget. The only thing I wish they have is, for safety reason, hand rails (grab bars) in the bathtub for seniors because one has to climb in and out to use the shower.

The Adler is an excellent choice hotel in the heart of Old Zürich. As a global business traveller, I have stayed in over 100 hotels. This hotel offers the perfect location to see Zürich with a short 10 min walk from Zürich HB🚄 Train Station. The single room is sufficient, clean and well stocked with a kettle, coffee, tea, slippers and a gift cloth shopping bag. If you need extra complimentary beverages they are stocked in the fridge on the 1st floor stairwell. Checkin was fast, and you can pre-checkin on your email link. At the time of writing this, there was some city construction of the surrounding streets due to underground work. Hopefully this will be completed by early spring. Should your shoes get a little dirty, there is a shoe shine machine on the 2nd stairwell. The breakfast is a healthy Swiss style breakfast of fresh bread, croissants🥐, yogurts, fresh warm boiled eggs, cold cuts, smoked salmon❤️ , cheese, cereals, lots of fruits, milk, juice and an excellent coffee machine for the perfect creama coffee☕. I had the opportunity to have cheese fondue in their restaurant and let me tell you, it is fantastic! Thank you and see you again! Regards from 🇨🇦 B

A fast and frequent 10-minute tram from the main station to hotel. Very friendly and diligent staff. Clean room and toilet with convertible sofa/bed. Breakfast was very delicious and comfortable, and there are a lot of choices. Restaurant obviously understaff at breakfast time but staff are very diligent and helpful - fast servicing to clean tables, refill food, and even teach customers how to use coffee machines. Overall very nice hotel, would highly recommend it.

Hotel is a 10 min walk from the bus station which connects to the train from the airport. The same bus station that takes to the central train station. It costs about 12CHF to 18CHF to or from train station. Hotel provides free rental bicycles which is very convenient. Facilities are OK. Room size is reasonable. Be aware that the uncovered glass of the shower may not suitable for all if privacy is important. The room we stayed were extremely hot. While it is only 14°-18° outside, the room temperature is definitely 30°+. It made hard to wear the proper clothing to fit the temperature for the day. No aircon, the only way to cool the room down is to open the side window which leaves no wall from the room to outside of the building. Yes, the only barrier are a couple of metal bars between the desk against the window to outside the building from our ninth floor room. Plus the window can closed by itself, you need to reopen it multiple times if you want the cooler air for a little longer. It’s hard for a hot night sleep. Breakfast is good and has good variety of the food and drinks. It costs 24CHF p.p. if it is pre-ordered. If stays in the same room, no, it is not recommended to stay here. It may have other rooms that are not as hot as the one we stayed.
