Bidadari Private Villas & Retreat

Ubud Bali|1.07km from Har's Garden
I cannot recommend Bidadari highly enough! The whole place is private, serene, and stunningly beautiful. We booked a honeymoon suite on ***********, but in retrospect we should have booked through their website directly. We were assigned the Romantic Honeymoon Villa, which is one of the furthest villas down the hill. What was not at all clear when we booked was the 5-6 flights of stairs we had to descend to even reach our door! Then the villa itself was two floors, with the open air living area/kitchenette upstairs and yet another flight of stairs down to the bedroom, open air bathroom, and private infinity pool. Now, this wasn't really an issue for us, though I did get quite the workout hiking to the entrance every day! But if you have mobility issues please note this location is NOT going to work for you. Back to the good things, though. The view of the jungle? Stunning. You can hear the river way down below. There's birds in the trees. There's butterflies and dragonflies everywhere. This place really is a slice of heaven! The staff is always going above and beyond to anticipate your every need. There's room service with an excellent menu of delicious food, and while the menu selection is smaller between 10pm-7am, you can order 24/7. While they do offer some Western food, do yourself a favor and stick to local faves. Nasi goreng and beef rendang are to die for! Also be sure to book a private dinner with the chef (req. one day's notice). We opted for the BBQ experience and they literally carried a grill to our villa and the chef herself prepared our whole (delicious) meal right there. Add elaborate flower decorations for a small up charge! Staff is just a phone call (or text via WhatsApp) away! Every day when you leave your villa is cleaned and mopped. Around 5:30-6:00pm in the evening, staff returns for turn down service: untying your bed canopy, setting out robes, turning on lights, lighting the mosquito coils around your villa. The spa services are fantastic! This is another thing we didn't know about because the website doesn't cover it. I canceled massage services I had booked in town when I saw Bidadari offered them - at even better rates in a better environment! I had a 30 min neck, shoulder, and back massage the first day. It fixed 20+ hours of travel aches like nothing else. I loved it so much I booked 1 hour foot reflexology two days later and that was incredible too! The last thing we wish we had known in advance is that staff can arrange ANY adventure activity or tour you want. Don't even bother with third party services, just tell Bidadari what you want to do and they will coordinate a private driver. They have connections all over. Bidadari includes one free drop off/pick up at Ubud Palace each day. Just call the front desk about 15-20 minutes before you need a ride (and tip your driver - they're local freelance taxis with an agreement with Bidadari). Our stay in Bali was magical, and thanks in no small part is due to B

The hotel was fab from the minute we got out of our taxi outside to the minute we got in our taxi to leave. The customer service was incredible, the hotel was beautifully clean and comfortable. The food was really great and the facilities available for guests were better than anywhere else we’ve stayed in Bali so far. We were a bit concerned about being far out of Ubud centre and the hotel provided a daily shuttle to and from Ubud centre. There was pretty much daily yoga classes and the option to use the hotels bicycles to go and explore the area. It actually turns out we were in the perfect place in Ubud to do our exploring and also have some much needed relaxation time. Thanks for a great stay!

I've been coming to Bali since 2018. I've stayed at the Nani 3 times now. Can't fault its location, nestled in the rice fields / country side. Unfortunately this place degraded quite a fair bit since 2020. The worst is the general hygiene of the bathrooms, black mould has built up in the shower area, there is also soap scum build up on the glass and tiles, the wash basin and toilet are now discoloured due a lack of thorough cleaning with the right stuff. Also, I witnessed a patron drinking water from the lobby water dispenser, he returned the cup upright to indicate it been used, and with my own eyes I saw a staff member rinse it out with cap water and returned upside-down to indicate ready for use 🤮. The staff for the most part are lovely, friendly and seem to want to go out of their way to please you. I had my air-con cleaned as I suspected it caused to get ill, and HOLY MOLY, dust as thick as you can imagine, dead insects and geckoes 🦎. It's a shame, I truly enjoyed this place in past years, that said I definitely won't be returning.

It's a little bit inside... … . About 15 minutes from Ubud Market… Ubud is inevitably an ant… ㅠㅠ The breakfast had a good variety and the food tasted good. There weren't too many Korean reviews, so I thought about it and got it. hehe… . There is also a yoga class at 7 am... ㅠㅠ City buses run about 5 times a day? If you are going to get a hotel in Ubud, the hotel or resort should be high quality. I don’t think there are any bugs😂 I hope it was helpful☺️

Clean, quaint, modern rooms, lovely gardens and small pool. Little bit out of town so best mode of transport is by scooter. Simple breakfast served each morning and there’s a shared outdoor kitchen area with fridge, microwave, hot water and coffee tea available to make yourself. Sari Api Ceramics is across the road and offers pottery courses. I went to yoga at Saraswati every day. It’s on the same road as the villa and next to (not immediately next to) tho Ubud Palace (Nest ubud markets) It’s a short scooter ride away. I booked Putu to drive me to Legian and drop off and pick up when we went for dinner at Mozaic. Great safe driver, polite, on time and the car to travel in was very comfortable. I would stay again.
