Lucerne Hotels with Bars

The views outside are stunning, and the hotel's restaurants are excellent – it truly lives up to its reputation for having the most Michelin stars. They even gave us a small gift box after dinner. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience. I'd definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Lucerne.

This was the fifth hotel on my trip to Switzerland. It's two bus stops from the train station, but conveniently located right by the stop, so getting there wasn't an issue. The hotel clearly exudes a rich history and old-world charm, with its luxurious European-style decor. I had a bit of trouble initially finding the right entrance and the front desk within the building. I'd actually booked a city view room, but the front desk upgraded me to a stunning lake view room – seriously, you *must* book a lake view! The terrace views were absolutely breathtaking!! The room itself wasn't huge, but it did have air conditioning. The bathroom was a tad small, mainly due to a large, rather useless cabinet taking up unnecessary space.

The hotel's location is very convenient, close to the train station and major attractions. It's a perfect choice for a short stay. However, the price is a bit high; compared to hotels in China costing 300-500 yuan, the rooms are a bit smaller, but I suppose that's acceptable for Switzerland. Nevertheless, it's definitely worth staying here. The front desk staff are very welcoming, and the breakfast selection is quite good.

Hotel des Balances is a beautiful blend of history and modern comfort, right in the heart of Lucerne’s Old Town. The location is unbeatable — you can walk to the Chapel Bridge, Jesuit Church, and plenty of shops and restaurants within minutes. My room was stylish and very clean, with a wonderful view over the river. The historic facade and murals give the hotel real charm, while the interiors feel elegant and well cared for. The staff were warm, professional, and genuinely helpful — from check-in to recommendations around the city Overall, a fantastic hotel if you want charm, comfort, and a prime location in Lucerne. Highly recommended, especially if you can book a river-view room!

Facilities: The hotel's exterior looks a bit old, but the lobby and rooms inside seem newly renovated. Overall, it's pretty good. Cleanliness: Clean and tidy. Environment: It's right across the road from the train station, and just a few minutes' walk to the ferry terminal, supermarket, and tourist attractions, which is super convenient. Service: The ladies at the front desk were very friendly. On our first day, they helped us check in at 11 AM, which was very efficient.

It's okay to stay overnight within 10 minutes walk from Lucerne Station. It's close. Good to carry a suitcase. It is a good place to leave your luggage before check-in. And on the first floor, we had a restaurant, and they gave us a restaurant coupon, and they didn't use it. There was no electric pot in the room. I think there was a coffee machine. When you go out, it's good to go to the Capel Bridge right in front of you. There is Starbucks next to it.

Good breakfast spread by swiss standards. Room was clean however the underlying structural deficits are hard to miss like bathroom getting wet after a shower as there are no shower curtains. The water is unable to be drained due to lack of drainage hole. The Trip.com booking indicated a city tax of 14 swiss francs but I was charged 16.40 swiss francs on check in for my 2 days stay.

Service: Super good. Since it is a long way down the stairs, there is a bell to inform customers to ring the bell and the hotel staff will help carry the luggage and send customers to the room to guide them to check in! Hotel goldener stern has a very nice outlook. Very cool vibes when i first stepped in. Check in was self service and easy. The lift is small so its only good for one person with luggage or two persons without luggage. The room is clean just rather small. Toilet is clean too. About 10 mins walk to luzerne station. There is also a bus that you can take from luzerne station to the accom. just need to walk 2-3 mins from bus stop. Overall, not a bad accom!
