Great stay! Upon arrival, we were upgraded to the apartments. Though you didn't go through the main entrance to the hotel and had to walk around to the side of the building to enter, we did not have a problem with this and loved the spacious modern room. The market outside was going on when we arrived which got set up and torn down each day. We were able to leave our luggage at the front desk after checking out which was very nice as we had to leave early for a tour!

Very inviting Hotel entrance with beautiful furniture. Rooms are all beautifully decorated with comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms, lovely views from the ample bedroom windows and above all very clean. We booked 2 rooms as we are a family of 5. Generally, the staff were friendly and offered directions when we asked for them. The Hotel is approx an 8 min walk from the Bologna Centrale station. Very accessible and in the centre of Bologna. Love this place. We didn't stay long enough.... but my husband and I will be back.

I can't say enough about the staff at the Regina. When the bathroom radiator leaked, they quickly arranged another room for us, and when that room proved too noisy at night, they found a third that was quieter. The front desk helped us on several occasions--first, to try to get in touch with our airline, because we needed to rebook our flight home; and second, to arrange a cab to the airport, following up when that cab never showed up. By our second day there, the staff knew what kind of coffee preparation my wife preferred with breakfast and had it ready for within minutes of our appearance, every morning. (And yes, that buffet breakfast was excellent, including everything we could want.) I'd highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel couldn't be better located. It is in the midway between the railway station and the historical center. Thus you can easily walk to both directions (about 10'). There are lots of shops, cafes and restaurants around. The hotel itself is nice and clean. The breakfast good, the staff really helpful. The room was quite small but functional. It is fine for 2-3 nights. There was a small and thin fridge hanging like a photo frame. I highly recommend it for people who want to explore the city (or use it as a base for exploring the cities around) and don't care about luxuries. The price was high when I visited it probably because of the last minute booking.

A reasonably priced hotel (£90 with breakfast) and located only a 10 minute walk from the station. My room was very clean although extremely small. There was just enough room to squeeze around the sides of the bed. Breakfast was satisfactory. Coffee was excellent. I would stay again.

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of our Honeymoon. The hotel is nice and the rooms comfortable and functional. At 110eur per night it represents excellent value for money and so for anybody looking for an affordable option in Bologna, this is a good choice

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Woke up to significant amounts of water hosing down from the ceiling into our room from around the air conditioning unit, walls and around the lights. Very dangerous. All clothes and possessions significantly damaged. Hotel agreed to charge us only the tax for that night stay which we agreed to and paid. 2 hours after checkout the hotel made an unauthorised transaction of €160 on our card, without our knowledge or consent. Went back to speak to hotel who refused to give a refund or acknowledge their error. The staff were rude, confrontational and aggressive. The manager who put this unauthorised transaction through refused to speak to us. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Zanhotel Regina (Bologna) (room 131) +Location, near the train station and shopping street and restaurants. McDonald's is next to the entrance. 10min taxi drive to the airport, cost 21 euros. +Friendly and helpful staff. +Clean room with good Wi-Fi, Air-condition, Safebox, small fridge for water bottles, 2 free water bottles, Hairdryer, (no iron in the room but probably can ask to borrow from the reception). +We checked-out early so didn't try the breakfast, but we got a breakfast bag (inform the reception in advance, the day before), in the bag was water, cookies, muffin, and we got coffee from the reception. We didn't have any problems with the noise.

Beautiful, clean, friendly, comfortable, and in the center of the historic district. Really wonderful breakfast with great variety - eggs/bacon, cheeses/hams, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, coffees, juices, cerials, etc . Surrounded by great restaurants and bars, right next to an outdoor market with many vendors from clothes to food. Right between the train station (800 meters) and the Piazza Maggiore (700 meters), so can walk anywhere. All the staff were extremely helpful with advice, making dinner reservation (absolutely required in Bologna), calling cabs (difficult.) Small but functional lift. On a noisy busy street but great soundproofing. Really loved this hotel and would recommend in a second. Would have been nice to have a chair or two in the room, but not uncommon in Italy. Only thing provided was a single low makeup stool.

3 of us stayed in apartment 6 on the second floor, which faced the courtyard and was quiet. Very spacious rooms, walk in wardrobe, comfortable beds, powerful shower, dining utensils for 4 people, washing machine, dishwasher, kettle. The hotel really should put better photos online! Friendly reception staff, and they even cleaned and changed towels every day which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was €15 per person, not €8 as advertised on *********** but Aldi is only 4 mins walk.

Hotel is extremely central and in between the city centre and the train station, so the location is very convenient. Rooms were exceptionally clean and staff was very friendly. Prices are very reasonable for the service offered. Highly refommended.

We had a very different experience than what other reviewers have had here. Our experience was only a positive one, save for the noise of the midnight revelers singing and chanting in the street below. First off, you can walk/bike/etc. to just about anywhere from here in less than 15 minutes, even the newer part of Bologna outside the city gates. Yes, the hotel is a little dated, but it also exudes European "Old World Charm". The bed was large, there were a good number of outlets, the room may be a bit small but, as travelers, we only need a decent bed and some decent storage space to be happy. We thought service was good, as one of the curtains over the large window fell down and was fixed immediately. We found the bathroom to be clean, modern looking with sweet black and white floor tiling, stylish, white wall tiles, and a box filled with nail file, tissues, and Q-tips, as well as practical-sized mini-bottles of shower gel and shampoo. The breakfast buffet is more than filling, with yogurt, cheese, fruit, pastries, cereal, and meat items, coffee, tea, and, thankfully, Nutella! The front desk staff does its best to give you information to enjoy this happy, bustling city. Make sure to check out the nearby, chock-filled Parco della Montagnola flea market and come see the positive in this urban hotel, as we did.

We enjoyed our time at Zanhotel Regina. It is very centrally located between the train station and the tourist areas and even though a market was going on while we were there, it was very quiet in the room. The room was comfortable and provided everything we needed for a two night stay. I would definitely stay there again.

Hotel nicely located between the train station and the city center. Rather large room with all the facilities. Very clean. Calm place, we didn't hear a sound from outside. The food at the breafast was very diverse and always plentyful. Excellent coffee, of course. Highly recommended.
