The hostel is riight in the middle of downtown Tokyo close to skyliner and Ueno metto station and park. Its a capsule -style hostel but also have regular bunkbeds depending on the floor. The best thing is the sauna and bath facilities with a nice lounge to relax amd th only con is the vecinity of the railway though I didnt notice any noise due to the l window

The hotel is well located close to a subway stop (2 subway lines available), plenty of food / shopping options and a chill vibe. It was not very loud and. I found walking around the area to be enjoyable- not too crowded or overly busy. It feels more local than other touristy neighborhoods, but with all the perks of a nice and well maintained, trendy area.
The staff are helpful, kind and knowledgeable, they were always able to help with any problem or question I had. 
I ended up extending my stay by 2 extra days because of the service and excellent location!

The best warmest experience in this hotel. Super friendly service, available laundry, tea, coffee, water, amenities, clean and fresh room everyday. Big, soft cozy bed. (Impossible to wake up, you want to sleep again and again). Window blinds. Kettle and TV in a room. Pretty spacious room. You can open your lagguge and hang some clothes in a wardrobe. Tiny but very efficient bathroom.
5 mins walk from the Ikebukoro station. A lot of tasty food places around (2 Ichiran places just around the corner, Yakitori, Izakaia, soba)

We love it here

The location is super convenient! It's just a 3-minute walk from OL, right across a traffic light, and you're at JR Ueno Station. It's also really easy to get to Narita Airport from Keisei Ueno, only about 45 minutes! I stay here often because it's so convenient.

The location is great. 3 mins walking to the nearest station. Many restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The cleanliness is just acceptable. However they don’t make the beds and clean the room regularly, only throw the trash and change the towels, which is weird. The amenities are quite old and the room is smaller than expected. If you have two kids like us (one 9yo and one 5yo), maybe it’s better to rent 2 rooms.
The staff is supportive though, so I rated 4/5 because of the staff.
Anyway, if you want a great location to travel around on a budget, this is good. If you need a comfortable stay, should consider twice.

well located and generally clean, except for you, but well I think it must be difficult to keep clean with the number of people. there are not enough toilets for all the people. The bathrooms are clean, well appointed and airy. The beds are clean and comfortable. Negative point: all the lockers are located in one room, there is a lot of traffic in a room and some guests allow themselves to talk loudly while others are asleep. perhaps they feel that it does not matter since it is not their room

The front desk Myanmar guy intentionally gave me some hard time telling me my English name is different from my legal name which is funny. I came to this hotel 2months ago it was the same guy who check me in and he even mentioned he recognized me but giving me hard time at check in which is something I don’t get?! 

The dryer is extremely dirty. 

One Japanese mid age female front desk came over to our room being pushy for checking out saying she will charge us more money after 11:15pm. 

The late checkout charge didn’t notify at the time of checkin  

This hotel is overall in a really old condition. The floor carpet is wear out

The location is great. The three subway stations were close, so I could go to most places at once. There were 5 beds, including a sofa bed, so it was good for families to stay. There is no breakfast buffet restaurant, but the convenience store is right in front of you, so it was better to buy it and eat it. It was a pity that the wifi was a bit slow.

I made a reservation on the day because a triple room with a semi-double room and sofa bed was available!
The room was quite small, so I couldn't spread out my carrier (T_T)
But the amenities were plentiful and very nice!
The welcome drink of sweet sake was also delicious!
The only drawback is that all the nearby parking lots are expensive.

First off, this location is a bit out of the way, if you intend to stay close to the downtown...you have to take the ”Portliner” a few stops.

No issue for me, but did not realize this when I booked.
I chose it because of the onsen / sauna, and I was very satisfied: this was the best sauna / cold tub I had in Japan (so far).

Was hotter (and colder) than anything else. The actual hot-tub was good too, but I focus on sauna ＞ cold tub cycles more than anything.

Rooms are new and look good, if not a bit small. As expected. 

Stay for a night if you are on the fence...use the onsen...have a coffee-milk afterwards. You'll feel great.

Rooftoop bar / restaurant was nice as well and very friendly staff!

Despite having only stayed one night, this place surprised me. Not only is the front desk available 24 hours, they are also friendly and able to help. I found the individual beds itself were spacious enough and they also had so many beds available, you had no need to worry for it being overcrowded or worry about noise. Each floor was equipped with enough toilets and showers and they were all super clean and fully stocked with soap and even disposable toothbrushes and shavers for you to use. Onsen was also available and open from early to late night. They even had a gym and sauna! Washers and dryers were also available to use but at an additional cost.
Would recommend it for individual travellers staying for short periods (1-3/4 days)
