Cheap Hotels in Florence

"We had a fabulous stay in Florence and the hotel’s location near the train station was fantastic both for when we arrived and departed (by train) but also for the three different tours we went on. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, making us feel like family, the breakfast was substantial with plenty of options, and the tiny lollies at the front desk were a sweet bonus. Would definitely recommend!"

"The environment is great, and the food is good. The overall experience far exceeded my expectations. The hotel's environment is truly impeccable. Walking into the lobby, you can immediately feel the clean and refreshing air. The greenery is exquisitely arranged, making you feel relaxed and at ease the moment you arrive. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, and the views outside the window are beautiful. It's exceptionally quiet both day and night, ensuring a perfect night's rest."

"The water pressure in the bathroom was very low, the shower was broken, and so was the toilet. The experience was pretty mediocre, and the bed was very narrow."

"This hotel is a renovated old building, and the ceilings must be at least four meters high, giving it a 'new wine in an old bottle' kind of feel, which is absolutely fantastic. The location is also great; you can walk to the Duomo, and it's less than a kilometer from the train station. The rooftop bar has reasonable prices, and on the day I arrived, I actually won a free drink – what a lucky draw! The hotel also offers free laundry, which is a huge plus. Just a few hundred meters from the hotel is Piazza della Libertà, which isn't crowded with tourists and is definitely worth a visit. If I come back to Florence, I'll definitely stay here again."

"The hotel is a five-minute walk from the train station. The surrounding streets were quite diverse, with a noticeable presence of Black people. There were also plenty of restaurants nearby, offering a wide range of dining options. Cleanliness: As an older hotel, the facilities were a bit dated. However, the room was reasonably clean, though quite small and a bit cramped for two people. A big plus was the very strong air conditioning. Service: The service was acceptable. The gentleman at the front desk was quite handsome, and the older gentleman was also very European and gentlemanly, which was pleasant to see. Breakfast: The breakfast was good, with plenty of choices, though the croissants were just average. A waiter proactively offered coffee and tea. The restaurant had consecutively been awarded Michelin stars before 2018, with a label proudly displayed at the hotel entrance. Local Amenities: If you exit the hotel, turn right, then turn left after about 20 meters, you'll find a local, affordable supermarket selling bread, fruit, vegetables, and milk, which is very convenient."

"This hotel is very close to the train station, making it perfect for travelers passing through Florence. There are also plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby, which is really convenient. They offer free coffee and water in the lobby, and the front desk service is excellent."

"I was very pleased with my stay. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and even let us check in early. A nice bonus was the free ice available on the ground floor. Overall, I'm very satisfied. The room was well-equipped with a fridge and a hairdryer, and the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of most attractions."

"First off, great crew at the front desk. Whether it’s answering my calls requesting the ironing board, or calling a cab for me the day of my departure, they were always available and willing to help. The issue is they might have overdone it in one instance when I put a note on the room door before leaving asking not to be disturbed and came back to see someone had gotten into my room, changed sheets and towels + “arranged” my stuff. Nice intention but got me confused looking for certain things. The gym was also a little disappointing: tiny, very limited equipment and only fit for one person at a time. It’s really a space to do yoga and stretch, with one treadmill. But it helped nonetheless. The real elephant in the room was the location. I found this hotel looking for a place in Florence and this is very misleading from the booking platforms. The city is Prato, there are no Ubers, public transit tricky to navigate (walk 10-15 minutes + take 2 buses and a train to get to Florence in a trip that totals 1h30 min on average) and taxis are rare + expensive (the cheapest I paid was 50€ for a 13 min trip to the airport). Not to mention most taxi drivers are clearly scamming you because they know you’re desperate, turning off their meters and asking you to pay cash. Overall, not my most memorable experience and would only recommend if you’re staying in Prato. If you plan to visit Florence and are tempted to book a cheaper hotel north of the city, think twice."

"I was on a business trip with a colleague, and when I booked the room, I specifically requested two single beds. However, we ended up with a double bed. When I went to the front desk to ask why we were given a double bed and requested to change to a twin room, they actually told me that the agent's request was for a double bed and it couldn't be changed. I insisted that I had clearly specified my request. The male receptionist then said we could only switch the next day because the service staff had all left for the day. His attitude was extremely arrogant and unfriendly. I insisted on changing, and eventually, they must have contacted the agent and realized their mistake, because they immediately reconfigured the room into two single beds."
