"The hotel has a very good location, close to the train station, making transportation very convenient. There were no toothbrushes or slippers provided, so guests need to bring their own. It would be better if the bathroom had a shower stall instead of a bathtub, as water tends to splash everywhere and make the bathroom wet. There is also a tram stop right in front of the hotel, so it can be a bit noisy early in the morning. However, if you are tired after a full day of sightseeing, the noise probably will not affect your sleep too much. Overall, the stay was quite comfortable and convenient."

"This hotel is hands down the best I've stayed at in Italy. First off, for luggage storage, there's dedicated staff to take your bags and bring them back directly to you when you need them. Secondly, the breakfast spread is fantastic; I enjoyed croissants and cappuccinos for two days straight. The location is super convenient too, just a five or six-minute walk from the train station and you're right there."

"Don't let the average-looking online photos fool you – this hotel is right next to the train station, making it super convenient for transport. The room amenities are quite new, and a big shout-out to the bathroom – it's incredibly clean and spacious! The service is also excellent; just remember to check in before 11 PM. We arrived late, but the front desk left their contact information at the entrance and guided us very patiently. My friend and I both agree we'd stay here again next time!"

"This hotel is okay if you get a good deal, but it's not worth paying extra for a special experience. The location is fantastic, literally 10 meters from the Duomo! It feels safe, though you'll be woken up by the church bells every morning. Service was a mixed bag, very hit or miss, which I guess is typical for Italy. Some staff were warm and helpful, others were quite cold. We had a family room, which wasn't the exact room type pictured and was a bit smaller than expected. However, you can tell it has very high ceilings, suggesting it might have once been owned by a wealthy family or banker. The overall design and structural style haven't changed much. Cleanliness was a concern. There were pillows on the bed that couldn't be removed, and it seems in Italy, duvets are often just a sheet with a reusable blanket on top, which I personally found a bit unhygienic (but I respect cultural differences). There weren't many charging outlets, and the design isn't standardized across rooms (e.g., outlet placement, a chair specifically for towels in the bathroom, etc.). Ultimately, don't pay a premium to stay here. If the price is right, then it's an option."

"The location is super close to the station, just a 3-minute walk away. It's also not far from all the tourist attractions, about a 20-minute walk. However, the room was a bit dark. On the plus side, the room itself was very spacious. If you're a light sleeper and easily disturbed by noise, this hotel might not be suitable because it's right next to a 24-hour tram line, which can be noisy if you're on floor A."

"Pros: The front desk staff were excellent – very friendly and polite. We arrived early and they were kind enough to help us check in ahead of time, which we really appreciated. Cons: The smell from the bathroom and sink in the room, where water backflowed, was truly unbearable. The toilet was shared, and the mosquitoes were a huge problem; my arms were covered in bites. The hotel is on the second floor, and the hallway on the first floor smelled really bad. I understand that renovating an old building can be complicated, but the overall experience was truly unpleasant. The front desk staff were great, though, no doubt about that."

"This hotel is a charming conversion of an old building, located just a 5-minute walk from the train station. It only has a few rooms, which are all very quiet, safe, and well-equipped. There's a supermarket downstairs, making it super convenient for any supplies you might need. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful. They recommended a restaurant for T-bone steak and even taught us how to use a local booking app to reserve a table in advance, which saved us nearly 30 Euros thanks to a 30% discount! We actually used this app throughout our trip in Italy afterwards, as most restaurants offered great discounts through it. The owner also pointed us to a unique local perfume shop, which I highly recommend checking out – it’s a beautiful store and exceeded my expectations. Given that hotels in this area tend to be quite expensive, I highly recommend this place if you don't require extensive hotel services."

"This was by far my favorite hotel throughout my trip in Italy. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the decor felt both high-end and charmingly rustic. The breakfast was delicious too! LLicichkaEverything was very good and comfortable. The location is close to the train station and all the main attractions. Given its proximity to the station, the noise level at night was as expected – not a surprise for me and acceptable. Breakfast, though seemingly modest at first glance, was always delicious with enough dishes for my taste (yogurt with candied fruit, whole-grain croissant, scrambled eggs, coffee, and fruit). Everything was fresh and pleasant. The room wasn't new, but it was clean everywhere, which is more important to me; the cleaning service was good. The staff were friendly, ready to chat (even in my native language, which is rare) or leave you be – they are very perceptive to guests' moods. Thank you for your service!

GGuest UserThis hotel's rooms are incredibly beautiful and clean! They provide a wide array of disposable amenities, including slippers and body lotion, which is quite rare for European hotels. Our room even had a small balcony with a lovely view of the pool downstairs and the surrounding trees. While breakfast wasn't entirely to my taste, the variety was impressive, even featuring honey with a honeycomb. The front desk offers complimentary luggage storage, which was very helpful. A thoughtful touch was the free long-handled umbrellas available for guests, especially since it happened to be raining during our stay. The only real downside is that, despite being close to Florence train station in a straight line, the walk from the station to the hotel is actually quite long. Plus, exiting the Florence station involves going down a set of stairs, which is very inconvenient with large luggage. This made the walk to the hotel feel even longer, especially with intersections where poor signal made maps unclear and it was easy to get lost. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this hotel. The internal environment is very well-maintained, and the front desk staff are patient and polite. If I have the chance to visit Florence again, I would definitely choose this hotel. The price is truly excellent value for money.

It was small but had everything you needed and was very comfortable. The lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful. She let us check in early as soon as a room was available, and answered all our questions throughout our stay. The breakfast room offers stunning views of Florence, with the cathedral dome and swifts that have migrated back from Africa after winter flying by the window.

MMarcos 305Villa Tortorelli is a charming mix between a bed-and-breakfast and a hotel. My experience here was mostly positive, and while there were a few minor issues, I could tell that the staff genuinely does their best to run the villa as smoothly as possible. Check-in & First Impressions The first thing to note is that the villa is designed to work with automated check-in processes, which is great for most travelers. However, it could be better explained to future guests to avoid any confusion. Not everyone will have a working phone or data plan when they arrive in Italy, and it’s important for the villa to have a backup plan in case guests are unable to connect. One simple suggestion would be to provide Wi-Fi access at the entrance of the villa and share the network name and password with guests before their arrival. This would make it easier for everyone to access the automated system without any issues. Room & Comfort I stayed in the Deluxe Suite, located on the first floor of a three-story villa, right next to the breakfast room. At first, I was concerned about noise, but the thick, heavy door completely blocked any sounds from the breakfast area. I never heard a thing in the morning. The room has blackout curtains that provide great privacy and darkness, which I really appreciated. The bathroom was newly renovated with luxury finishes, including stone walls that give it a high-end feel. The room was clean, and the daily housekeeping service kept everything spotless, with fresh towels replaced daily. One of the standout features of Villa Tortorelli is Karen, the person in charge of breakfast service and housekeeping. She is incredibly attentive and hardworking. She ensures that guests are well taken care of, and the breakfast is always well-prepared and served hot. Honestly, if they lose Karen, the villa would lose two stars in reviews. She is one of their greatest assets. Breakfast Experience The breakfast service was excellent. The food is prepared fresh every morning, and Karen makes sure there is always a variety of hot and cold options available. The breakfast room is cozy and inviting, with plenty of choices to start your day off right. The Villa’s Atmosphere & Location The villa is peaceful and surrounded by greenery, making it a relaxing place to stay. It’s also within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions in Florence, which makes it very convenient for exploring the city. One Minor Issue The only negative point during my stay was that the room felt quite cold when I first arrived. However, I reached out to the WhatsApp help service, and the heating system was adjusted quickly. Within a short time, the room felt much warmer and more comfortable. Final Thoughts Overall, Villa Tortorelli is a great option for those looking for a peaceful, well-located stay in Florence. The automated check-in system could use some improvement to avoid any potential issues for guests without a data plan, but aside from that, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff is very attentive. Would I stay here again? Yes, especially for Karen’s service and the peaceful villa atmosphere!

Right after I booked, the price dropped, and after I contacted Trip.com, customer service immediately refunded the difference. When we checked our luggage, the front desk tried to upsell us to a larger room for 30 Euros, but we didn't have much luggage so we declined. The room was indeed small, mainly the bathroom door was hard to open without bumping into things; it should really be a sliding door. All visible areas were quite clean, but there was a lot of dust on the cups and tabletop. A kettle and tea bags were provided, but no free water. The kettle also had a lot of limescale, so I didn't dare use it. Breakfast was quite simple. Overall, it's good value for money.

GGuest UserIt's in a great location, 7 minutes from the station and 10 minutes from the Ufutzii Museum, but it was hard to find because there was no hotel sign! I was standing 10 meters away, but I couldn't find it even after walking back and forth, so I asked a nearby hotel staff member, who pointed to a small door and said, ”It's right there.” I pressed the intercom, had it opened, went up to the third floor, and finally checked in. The room was cute, and when I told them I was leaving early in the morning, they were flexible and said, ”I can make breakfast at the breakfast shop and have it delivered the day before.” There was a shower, a refrigerator, and bottled water for the bed. If you leave the room and go up one level, there is a shared terrace with a view of the roofs of the ancient city. If the check-in goes smoothly, it's a great place to stay.

Their kindness and attention: exceptional, the fact that it has a swimming pool, even if it is small, to take a dip especially in summer, with the heat that it is, is an important point to take into account, and although I have read that they do not warn that it does not have an elevator and that in many cases, like us, they send you to the second floor with many steps, it is true, but they also take your suitcases up and down. Without a doubt, I will stay at this hotel again on my next trip to Florence.

Overall, my experience at this hotel was delightful, and I would gladly recommend it to fellow travelers. First and foremost, the location of the Anglo American Hotel is superb. Situated in the heart of Florence, it offers easy access to the city's major attractions, including the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and Uffizi Gallery. GGuest UserI stayed with my aunt and my friend for 2 nights recently; we had 3 beds in the same room, 1 single and 1 double. The hotel had basic amenities - private bathroom which was a little small for me and a TV in the room. We didn't notice a kettle in the room but to be honest, we weren't really bothered since we had paid for the hotel breakfast. The breakfast had small selection of hot food: eggs and sausages were really good. The coffee machine wasn't working properly but the staff did everything they could to provide espressos for the guests. Speaking of the staff, they were so kind and amazing, The 1st staff we saw was kind enough to mark the local/popular attractions on the map and give us some guidance on what to do and where to go. They also gave us this incentive where we all got free breakfasts for the 2nd day after signing up to the hotel account (or something like that). The only major con about the stay was that our room was located right next to the elevator and it was noisy all morning and late at night so please if you can, ask for a faraway room!
