Great B&B. Spacious rooms and decent sized bathrooms. Main road location so easy to find. Rooms are at the back so road noise is minimal. Plenty of parking. Lovely walks nearby. Good food. Pool table. Great hosts. Chickens. One night stay and very good value for money.

Fantastic place! Staff really friendly and attentive & food brilliant. Stopped there for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago it was so nice we decided to give the ‘fish & chip Friday’, definitely worth the drive (from Bristol)! Definitely worth the drive, fab!

What a wonderful night. We live in the village and since the Barleycorn Inn reopened in June last year it has been a Godsend here. Last week attended the Burns' Night dinner hosted by Tom & Terry and it was fantastic! Three courses of pure heaven: Smoked Mackerel crumpets with radish and cucumber, Balmoral chicken served with Whiskey sauce, pan roasted carrots, potato and kale, all rounded off with traditional Cranach pudding, which truly brought a taste of Scotland here to Wiltshire. Unfortunately, there was no ceilidh after the dinner, but it did make me feel just a little homesick. A fabulous evening, shared with even more amazing friends - as I said - a wonderful night!

What a fabulous place to stay! I was booked in for a work related trip and my stay here made my week. Warm, comfortable and clean room. Lots of tea/coffee and biscuits in the room. Breakfast was made freshly to order and was top notch. Ate here a couple of times in the evening and the meals were delicious - again, cooked freshly to order. I felt really warmly welcomed here. I wanted to move in by the end of the week!!! I thoroughly recommend th Barleycorn if you need somewhere to stay or eat if you are in the area.

I have friends in the area who recommended The Barleycorn. I was amazed! The room was immaculate, all the facilities were top notch. Towels were the softest I’ve ever known. The food was brilliant - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was filling and locally sourced. Our hosts explained how they work with local farmers to sustain the community. I will be returning soon - to the friendliest place I’ve ever stayed at. Thank you❤️

How we managed to turn up at the wrong pub, in the wrong county and then wonder why they didn't have a booking for us is beyond me but then again when it comes to being a pair of muppets, we do it well! However, that mistake worked in our favour as it would have been silly to turn around and leave so food and drink was ordered. The lamb rump steak was cooked perfectly and the house recipe sausages are delicious. If you want good honest pub food cooked well, in a friendly village pub where you are made to feel welcome this is the place for you! Will definitely be visiting again and thoroughly recommended.

This was the worst Sunday lunch we have ever had. We had lamb which was inedible and the whole meal was tasteless. I had a large glass of Red wine which they charged me £14 for and my wife had a rose at £10.55. The whole experience was embarrassing, so we just paid and left. There was only one other table taken in the place and I am not at all surprised. Avoid this place .

Stayed here recently for one night whilst driving down to Devon as we wanted to visit Stone Henge and Avebury. Both a pretty close by for anyone else wanting to see them. The room was clean and comfortable and being behind the pub was pretty quiet, the pub itself being on a busy road. We arrived after the dinner service but having explained our long drive and being told there was nowhere in the village to eat the owner offered to make us sandwiches which consisted of thickly cut ham and were well needed. The dinner menu was limited but we both found something to eat. The next day at breakfast we were given the option of continental or full English. Pretty sure when we booked we only paid for continental but weren’t charged any extra. Overall a nice and comfortable stop over. The menu needs updating and the pub some TLC, but knowing the new owners haven’t been in long it’s clearly a work in progress and getting there.
