I checked in Monday 8/1/22 and checked out 8/3/22. My room was a warm 80+ degrees and the AC was not working. I called the desk and there was no answer so I went back down to the desk. I told the front desk agent that the AC was not working and gave her my room number. She said she would contact maintenance. After several hours with no visit from the maintenance staff, I went to dinner and told the front desk staff that maintenance could go into my room while I was at dinner. After dinner, my room was still very warm. I reported back to the front desk and a different woman said she would have maintenance ”get right on it”. As I walked towards the elevator I realized I had not given her my room number. I went back to her and asked ”Do you know my room number?” She said ”No.” At this point, I realized none of them could care less about my AC issue. I asked her if there was another room she could switch me to with a working AC unit and she replied ”I'm not sure what rooms have working AC and what rooms don't.” So I replied ”There's nothing you can do for me?” To which she replied ”Do you want a fan?” I thought she was kidding so I called her bluff and said ”Sure.....I'll take a fan.” She walked behind the front desk and came out with a BOX FAN!! She said ”Here you go.” I was shocked and disappointed. For 2 nights, I had this ridiculous box fan running full blast trying to stay cool and sleep. It was impossible. When I check out of most hotels, they usually ask me how my stay was. Needless to say, they didn't ask me this time, because they didn't care how my stay was. Unprofessional. Poor service. Unbelievable.

Hilton Denver City Center

I expected a lot better. The location is great for the city sights. Close to all the key areas (and it’s a good walking city). But the number of homeless people around is quite shocking and can make you feel very uncomfortable. It’s only 20 mins walk from Union St but you’ll need a taxi if you have luggage. Lyft and Uber are your friends but pricing is very variable. The reception of the hotel is non-descript and service slow if there’s a conference in the hotel. The rooms are dark. Too dark. They are also small. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Bathrooms need refurbished - they are looking tired. (We stayed twice in the space of a week). Towels were thick and soft; toiletries good quality. The only restaurant is a sports bar in the basement. This is particularly disappointing for a hotel of this quality. Space, service and quality can therefore be problematic. We left one morning when service was particularly bad. There is no Exec Lounge. A major drawback and a dumbing down of the chain. Instead of lounge access we were given $15 per night to spend. This could not buy you breakfast….probably just one drink in the bar. The US chain could learn from Hilton elsewhere in the world. On second visit we arrived at 1720 and our room still wasn’t ready. However the front desk subsequently let us have a late checkout for our own departure. That all said, you’ll be able to do better at this price.

My husband and I spent a couple days here and were pretty satisfied with it. The room was clean and nice. And the bed was very comfortable!! Location was great as well. They charge a daily fee of $35 for parking but there are plenty of other parking garages close for way less. They have a 24 hour self service spot where you can buy snacks and drinks which was helpful. The elevator was extremely slow and a part of our floor was under construction. Also, the pool water was way too warm. It may be listed on their website as heated but I was not prepared. It was 98 degrees outside and we couldn’t even sit in the pool. The biggest complaint was the service. I asked one of the front desk gentlemen if we could bring drinks up to the rooftop pool or if there was bar service and he had no idea. His response was “I think you can?” When we got up to the pool and tried to call to order food and drinks they told me we had to come down and order it from the bar and pick it up from the bar. Which is fine but at the pool area they literally had a phone, next to a menu, and a sign that said use this phone to order food?? They also only have breakfast and dinner hours listed but when I asked if they do lunch too she wasn’t sure and put me on hold to check. It was just a little misleading. Like how do you not know if you serve lunch too? The only awesome service we had was the bartender we had for lunch and drinks. He was knowledgeable and quick to take care of us. Overall 4/5 hotel stay. We would probably come back since the bed was comfy and the room was nice and spacious.

Magnolia Hotel Denver, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

This fine old refurbished hotel in the heart of downtown Denver was fine for a three day conference. As a Bonvoy member, I used suite night credits and was upgraded to an exceptionally large and lovely suite, complete with fireplace – 1042. See photos. The suite had a large kitchen area with microwave and mini-fridge, sink, and coffee maker. No dishes, cutlery, kitchen ware, or dish soap and kitchen towels. It had a very comfortable dining room area, 4 chairs, and a spacious living room area, two closets with a functional safe, and bedroom with king bed. Blackout blinds in every room. The bed and bedding were soft and comfortable, the way I like them, and the lighting and bedside outlets were available. Bathroom has decent storage space, blow dryer, toiletries in addition to those affixed to the shower wall, and a lighted magnifying make-up mirror. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that my colleagues in the standard guest rooms had no mini-fridge. In my view, there is simply no excuse not to supply these in every hotel room. They are inexpensive to both purchase and maintain. The elevators were also a bit of an issue – we were down to 2 out of 3 with resulting longish waits, but they are pretty interesting - the original building elevators from the early 1900s. The bar serves a decent menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices, and the food is well prepared and presented. There is coffee available in the morning and cookies and milk in the evening in the lobby, free of charge. To a person, the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, from the reception staff to the servers in the restaurant, to the housekeeping and maintenance staff. Special mention goes to Cosette – she is one of the best front desk staff I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. She was quick to offer suggestions, and assistance, quick to go out of her way for you, and quick with a smile and a greeting. She’s a real credit to the hotel. All in all, would I stay at the Magnolia when in Denver again? Yes, but only if I had a room with a fridge.

Just completed a 3-night stay for business. Friendly and efficient breakfast staff, Valerio and his dining teammates kept the coffee, fresh fruit, bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages and other goodies well stocked, clean and always top notch. This Homewood Suites location shares its breakfast facilities with the Hampton Inn, but the dining room was always welcoming, calm and space was always available, thanks to the constant attention of the staff. What would make this hotel perfect, is a front desk team that likes helping guests with basic needs, such as the ability to use a printer to print boarding passes or documents. On Tuesday morning, Sept 13 at around 8:15 am, I asked the front desk staff member J. about using the business center so that I can print a document. He said, ”we closed our business center a while back, there's a computer down there (pointing to the end of the lobby) and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...” And of course, it didn't work. I got the distinct impression that J. wasn't interested in helping me, and I was taken aback by the complete indifference. I looked for someone else to ask but it was not meant to be. Note to self: forget about the disappointing front desk service, and focus on the beautiful view from the 12th floor room, and the great service from the dining room staff!

When we first checked in Lady was ok not to friendly but she got us checked in everyone else we came into contact with went out of there way to say hello. It is a nice place to stay Breakfast is good. Rooms nice and clean the no closet thing a little weird but hey go with it. . I think the number one complaint that everyone there that stayed in July was Fix the ELEVATORS was the worst ! waiting a good 20 minutes for elevator only 2 working. Then you wait and elevator opens and its so packed you can’t get in. Valet was full so we had to park in a public parking area and because its downtown its a shady area. Valet gentleman was very helpful I wish I remembered his name he worked Saturday evening around 6. we got to finally park at hotel are last night. Easy access to everything. I honestly would stay there again.

I was in town for a conference and overall had a very good stay. I was there 6 nights They told me at check in that housekeeping was every 2 days. What I found out was that you have to ask at the desk the day before to have them come. I really just need trash pick up and fresh towels. When they did come they did a great job. I had a couple little routine things that needed fixing when I first arrived. The guy came the next morning and took Care of it all. My TV in the living room area volume didn’t work right It only came on very low and sort of out of the back of the TV. It was weird. I only ate breakfast once - I am not a breakfast person- but it was the usual spread as at other Residence Inns. The beds were new and very very comfortable. There are washers and dryers. The washer is $3 in quarters but the machine holds more than my home washer. The dryer I think was $1 for 30 minutes which was plenty of time. Everything was very clean The bad part is that the recent remodeling of the Hotels by Corporate are beautiful but not practical. Instead of all drawers in the clothes chests, there are 2 drawers and a large open area but the open area is colored dark inside. It is very easy to not see an item and leave things behind. Also, the new lights are in the wrong place. The overhead light at the bathroom sink is in the middle of the area half way between the closet and the sink. Whichever way you are looking, you cast a shadow on it because of the light. There are lights in the mirror for make up but they really shine in your eyes. In the kitchen, the light is again in the middle. You cast a shadow trying to do dishes or cook. The light under the microwave over the cooktop is very dim, not useful for anything but a dim nightlight. I had a large flashlight with me that I used to cook. I only go into such detail as the corporate folks need to know. Wish I would have had a trouble light to use for cooking. The cook top is one of the glass/ ceramic type and very difficult to control temp. I am accustomed to a gas stove so that make be part of it. I had an oven in my room which was terrific and allowed me to bake as well. The dishwasher is a little loud. You might want to run it while you are gone. I had a special rate that included parking, otherwise it is $42 per day. The parking has in and out privileges which is unusual for the area. What is nice is that the parking is part of the same building. The lobby is on the first floor then the next few levels are the parking garage floors then the room care above that. The door into the anteroom for the elevate requires a hotel key. The floors with rooms requires a key as well. There is a small bar on the first floor - the bartender was very friendly and kind. They have the usual assortment of high and moderate end liquors and beer and wine. The front desk people were really terrific- kind and helpful day and evening. There is a Trader Joe’s about a mile and a half away. Fairl
