Incredibly disappointed. Nobody took our coats, so we carried them with us to the dining room and left them on a neighbouring chair. Two of us ordered gins and tonics, which were served in very tiny brandy glasses. The food was not what we expected.

I throughly enjoyed my stay at Croydon Hall, I was greeted by Mark the manager on our arrival and it was chucking it down and chilly, the fire 🔥 was lit within minutes in the beautiful reception area overlooking five acres of land! Absolutely stunning place to visit, definitely a hidden gem! Mark the manager could not do enough for us and was very accommodating, had a lovely afternoon tea in a beautiful room overlooking the gardens! The food was fresh and delicious! Enjoyed the spa with my daughter on two occasions which was so relaxing after a full day exploring Minehead and Dunster Castle which is definitely worth a visit. Lovely room as well. Im definitely returning to Croydon Hall it’s a little off the beaten track but that’s the beauty of it, very peaceful surroundings and a place where you can decompress and enjoy the stunning Somerset countryside! Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience!

The trip to Croydon Hall was a Christmas present and included the Golden Retriever experience. The Hotel is in a wonderful location surrounded by countryside and looks pretty impressive when you first arrive. Check in was welcoming and reception staff were helpful. The room was huge and immaculate. Whilst the decor was not entirely to my taste I can definitely appreciate what the owner has done here with all the themed rooms. The Bathroom was beautifully decorated and whilst I didn't actually take a bath I can imagine it would be quite an experience lay there looking out over the countryside with a large glass of wine. We ate in the restaurant and the food we had was good, really tasty and plenty of it. My only criticism was the menu was a little bit limited, but as I said the quality was good and so was the wine. Breakfast was exceptional both mornings and Service in the bar and restaurant was great. There are lots of places close by to visit, make sure you head to Dunster Castle, well worth it even on a rainy day in January. Having lost my Golden Retriever in May 2022 the Golden retriever experience was amazing, both a slightly sad and joyous experience all at the same time. A few hours fussing and being fussed by 20 odd Goldies of all shapes, sizes, ages and personalities left a lasting impression on me, it makes me smile every time I think about it. Well done to everyone who is involved in planning and delivering this experience, I hope you know just how happy you make people. If it hadn't been for the golden retriever experience we may have never discovered Croydon Hall, but I'm so glad we did. It's a hotel with character, in beautiful surroundings with some great staff who really do look after you.

We feel very lucky to have been able to stay at Croydon Hall in the Pearl Suite. The hotel is fabulous and we shall be sure to recommend it to all of our friends and family. Jeremy was brilliant throughout the whole booking process and Mark was a brilliant host on the day, giving us a tour of the place, making sure we had everything we needed and cooking a lovely breakfast the next morning! The added bonus of having the spa to yourself for an hour was also fab! The weather was unfortunately against us so we didn’t get chance to explore the grounds but from what we could see from the windows it’s a must if you can get out and enjoy it! We hope to be able to come back to stay another day,

We stayed at his hotel for 2 nights but wish we could of stayed longer! Mark was so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was ever too much trouble! We had one small complication with our TV but Mark came straight up and sorted it for us. He also cooked us an amazing dinner each night! His son was very friendly too, as he was our waiter. He was very polite and nothing was too much trouble either! We didn’t have breakfast as we slept in both mornings but next time we visit we definitely will! We managed to book spa treatments with Charlotte last minute which we were extremely greatful for! Charlotte did the treatments for my partner and I in our room and she was amazing! Would definitely recommend her to anyone wanting to have a treatment. We felt so relaxed and sleepy after, it was a lovely treat! The spa area is lovely. I like that they keep it to one group at a time so as it was just the two of us we used it at the time of our booked slot. It was lovely to have all the facilities to ourselves! We were allowed to use this spa as many times during our stay which is a bonus as a lot of places are once only! We stayed in the Tiger Lilly room. Wow! It was just amazing! The views were beautiful, the bed was extremely comfy. We had lots of space and the shower and bath were amazing too! The only thing that I could recommend is maybe having somewhere to hang towels etc to dry such as hooks or something similar as we struggled with space with spa towels, showe towels, swim wear etc! The hotel has so much land for you to go for a walk. You don’t even need to drive anywhere if you don’t want to as there is so many beautiful views from the walk around the grounds! We loved our stay at Croydon Hall and will definitely be returning! Hopefully when the weather is nicer and the outdoor pool is open. (They said we could use it but was too cold outside to!) Thank you again to Mark and your team. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back and recommend to anyone else thinking to stay! 😊

Stayed the night before and night of our wedding, which the hotel was aware of. A memorable feature was being greeted and having a chat each morning with the chef. He helped put me at ease on my wedding day. The room itself was lovely, but a little tatty in places, and heated to 30 degrees celsius. Far too hot. Rectified by turning the thermostats down and flinging all the windows open for a few hours. Found it a bit odd how there was no infill panel to be found for the bathroom window so when showering could see down the gardens. Rectified by hanging a towel over the glass. A ****** was was being charged the full £15 for a breakfast on the morning of the wedding. Only had a bowl of cereal, one piece of bacon and some toast (only ordered bacon and one hash brown off the hot food due to lack of appetite). Couldn't eat due to nerves but guess that's my problem, not the hotel. Overall, an enjoyable stay and recommended it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in the country. Some of the staff are an asset.

A stunning location, and a hotel crewed up with a truly helpful and generally lovely staff. My partner and I, and our friends had the pleasure of spending a whole weekend here and loved every minute of it. Plus, an important bonus, unusually good quality bed sheets and pillows. Highly recommended.

We chose this inn at the recommendation of the nearby Golden Retriever Experience, and were thrilled with it. The centuries-old estate is beautiful and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Jeremy, the owner, made reservations for us at a nearby pub for dinner and personally drove us there and picked us up afterwards. The breakfast was excellent and the spread impressive, even though we were the only guests that morning. We had visited London on a number of occasions from the US, but this was the first time in the English countryside for us and what a nice way to experience it. We highly recommend!

Extremely lovely room.. that’s about where the positives end. The room itself was amazing, we stayed in ‘Tiger Lily’ which was bigger than imagined with a huge bath and a lovely view. We were asked to pre order dinner due to them being ‘very busy’, however upon arriving for dinner we were one of three small tables for the whole evening.. I was served a 330ml can of Birra Morreti from the ‘bar’, costing me £6!! Which was served in a grubby glass from 2008. The spa itself is run down, with faulty equipment and damp walls. The whole stay felt like a year 8 residential trip, with the hotel being set on lovely grounds however being poorly managed and run down. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere before parting cash to stay here.
