I arrived in Erfurt via train and walked about 15 minutes to the guest house. Note there is very little signage outside so I found it a bit difficult to locate. The entrance is via a key pad outside - and I received good directions from the proprietor, so was able to enter. A key was left for me on top of a dresser with something written in German. Fortunately the key had a number on it as that was the only way I was able to find my room. Rooms are arranged dorm style with 3 rooms sharing a common area. The room was large and clean but very basic. There was no sound proofing and so I heard every step, door, key movement etc. It all made me feel a little uncomfortable. I very much enjoyed the town - which was vibrant and beautiful.
