Dormy House

I stayed here about 4 years ago. Same great location. The facilities have been upgraded and look fantastic. I had the prefix menu with wine pairing. Absolutely phenomenal! The view from the restaurant can't be beat. Panoramic view of the beach below while fine dining. Great access to the cliff paths directly out of the hotel property. Easy parking, secured by gate. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Great location and fantastic views from the bar and grassed area overlooking the beach and the cliffs toward the north end of the beach. The hotel has onsite parking which you can access prior to the check in time which is an absolute bonus as parking in Ètretat can be challenging, especially on the weekend. Once you have parked your car there is no need to move it until you check out. You can access the beach and town on a private pathway of the hotel and also access the walking trails to the south of the beach from this path. I would recommend getting up super early and head out walking, there are less people and you get great morning light. I would also suggest exploring the beach at low tide especially the south end. There is a tunnel that you can access which will take you through the cliffs and to the other beach. This was a lot of fun and the view on the other side was beautiful. We almost had the beach to ourselves, there were only 6 other people on the whole beach. We chose to book one of the basic rooms, simply because we are on vacation for several months so we’re trying to be cut costs where possible. In hindsight this was a big mistake and next time I would opt for a room with a view. Our room was very tiny, like super tiny, it was very hot (no aircon), very noisy and the room seemed to be on an angle so we felt like we were going to roll out of the bed. Safe to say we didn’t sleep particularly well. There is also no lift in the main house, so if you have lots of luggage like we did, this was a challenge. I can’t comment on the restaurant’s as we didn’t eat at the hotel. The menu is pretty limited in the main restaurant and to be honest the food in the bistro was extremely expensive for what it was.

Hi In general was everything all right. But We were cherged by a room with a view and They gave us a room with no view.

From the 5th to the 12th of Mai we visited Étretat and we stayed at the "Dormy House" situated over the City. We had two rooms with sea view which again made the stay even more spectacular. The rooms are very large an well furnitured. The Staff is very professional and exeptionaly nice. The Hotel has two Restaurants which we both tried and enjoyed. A very big advantage is that you can reach the beach in 10 minutes via a path belonging to the Hotel. All this makes the "Dormy House" an experience that we can only reommend.

Great location with panoramic view of the La Manche and the city, 2 minutes walk to the beach and the cliffs. Food at the restaurant was perfect and the staff were very friendly. Room was comfortable, clean and well equipped.

The best place to stay in Etretat. I liked everything. The hotel is located in a park area. It offers stunning views of the city center, sea and cliffs. I recommend choosing a room with a sea view, it's worth it. You can easily walk from the hotel to the cliffs or to the city center through the park. Breakfast was excellent. The room was clean, spacious and well equipped. I will recommend this hotel and will definitely return myself one day.

If you are reading this, then you are considering visiting Etretat, we would encourage you to do this as Etretat is a place of great character and history, with wonderful views, walks and quite a number of lovely restaurants. Dormy House has a tremendous setting overlooking the cliffs and beach. We stayed in a recently refurbished prestige room, which had a tremendous terrace enjoying the position. The room itself was faultless, with a very comfortable bed. This was a second visit, as we overnighted here several years ago, and had always promised ourselves a second visit- maybe it won’t be our last.

We came to enjoy Etretat for our 10 years anniversary. We could enjoy great deal with our 2nd night free, which made the global stay affordable. However we regret the obsolescence of the room and the equipment, and of the outside of the building. Also the location for the breakfast is really tight (the bistrot) as there were some queue to enter and sit, as well as very packed around the buffet. Nonetheless, we appreciated the kindness of the staff, the sea view from the terasse and the jacuzzy. The quality of the kitchen at the restaurant was also very nice.
