Vila Gale Evora

"I have stayed in Vale Gale hotels several times before and to be honest always had a great experience. However at the Evora hotel for the first time I had an awful experience. They’ve put me in a bedroom which the only way to describe it is as an ashtray. They apparently let guests smoke inside their bedrooms and it was unbearable to stay (and I mean you could smell the cigarette from the corridor). Ahh! And I had a 6yo with me… so lovely welcome from them! As soon as I got there I went down to the reception and they said they had no other bedrooms and the best they could do was to send a cleaning lady with a spray to try to make it smell less bad, and they could only change me to a normal bedroom the next day. Then when I was literally about to take a room at the Ibis next door because the bedroom was really unbearable they called the manager and… wait for it… they had a bedroom available. Only that it was their “superior” bedroom (tbh, same thing as the standard, only with a view to the pool), and apparently they were very happy to let me sleep with a child in a bedroom smelling like an ashtray so they could keep they non-sense “superior bedroom” free that night (I still can’t believe it)…. So, after 1hr of drama, they put me in a normal bedroom not smelling of cigarettes… and, with not even a pause for the ridiculous situation they put me in…. they told me I have to change bedroom the next day… because according to them I had booked a standard bedroom and the bedroom they had to put me in was a “superior bedroom” so I can’t stay in the same bedroom for 2 nights… 😂 These guys are very good at playing pranks here… so my advice is to watch out, specially if you’re traveling with kids! They really have no trouble in putting you and your family in a trouble they created themselves! Thank you Vila Gale management!"

The Lince Ecorkhotel Évora

"Very good facilities, but we put a note on the door saying not to disturb them and they still entered the room. To our surprise, they sent medication to the trash that we had left on the bedside table and that we would need for the weekend. Apparently it is the hotel's policy to always enter the hotel even though there is a paper on the door indicating otherwise."

The heated floor in the bathroom is really a plus. The cherry on top are the drinks and little chips for free included in the room! We stayed for one night but we are planning to come back."

"The location is great and the apartment was very comfortable. Management is on site until 7 pm and we’re quick to respond to our only issue (door screw loose). I would stay here again! We stayed in #5. It was spacious. Twin beds were in a separate room, but to get out you either have to exit or go through the other bedroom, which worked fine for us."
