I booked a room for 2 nights this past weekend. The rooms were below average, but I really didn't care because I would only be sleeping there. At 1am I realized my internet didn't work, there are no phones in the rooms and no number to call in case of emergency, so I left the room to go to the office. No one was there. When I returned to my room, the key did not work. I messaged the hosts ( was renting through Airbnb) and Airbnb, no one responded until 9:30 am. I was locked out of my room all night with no phone (it died while I was waiting for them to respond). There were several men drinking at all hours with beer and liquor containers piled at least 4 feet high by their rooms. I did what I needed to do as single woman, traveling alone in an unsafe area and got my things out, around 3 am. The host has now called me ****** because I was not comfortable being locked out of my room with random intoxicated men, threatened me that if I don't pay $2,000.00 yes, you read that right, TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS for a broken window, that he will report me for a felony ( EXTORTION). Air bnb is doing NOTHING to rectify the errors. This is a living nightmare, these people are predators and this establishment should be shut down.
