Warmly welcomed on a busy Saturday afternoon we settled in to watch the football with beers and kumara chips. After full time we wandered in the rain along the main street and then back for dinner. Opted for the burger for the first course and then went for the panacotta for dessert. The pannacotta was outstanding with the right amount of silky wobble and complemented with a fruit compote and dots of citrus, probably yuzu, on the plate. Our room was small with everything you could want including wonderful pillows and a fan. It was hot. Sure, there was some noise from the bar fundraiser downstairs but we knew about it and drifted off to sleep. A fine place to stay, warmly recommended.
