We really liked the facilities of this hotel, both the outdoor swimming pool with sea view and the large and very pleasant indoor swimming pool, good water temperature. Decent room and excellent welcome, nothing to say, excellent service, good breakfast

The location is very good, the beach is right outside, the sea water is very clear, and the buffet breakfast is rich and delicious

New structure, nothing to complain about. Service: EMPTY bar fridge, not even a bottle of water, non-existent bathroom courtesy kit ☹️ slippers not to mention. If they remain with this miserable policy, after having taken a Superior Sea View Room and paid a premium, I would expect some more service. Excellent breakfast.

We travelled to the doubletree in may 24. We were in a similar position to other reviews on here. We were told by our travel company after we had paid in full that work wasn’t complete 6 weeks before we left so were left with little option as not much left or had to pay a lot more. We were assured the noise disruption was minimal. Whilst we didn’t hear it in our rooms it basically ruined our holiday when by the pool. The main part of the hotel that has been re done is lovely. The reception and bar areas all very nice, the decoration is very well done everything was very clean (with the exception of the toilets in reception near the restaurant which always seemed to be neglected for some reason) Rooms nice - our shower tray did alway leak over the floor and across near toilet though. Staff all very friendly and helpful, very attentive at breakfast and dinner and all seem happy to be working there The main issue here is the work that’s going on. If you are looking to relax by the pool this is not the place for you at the moment There are two large cranes - which are not noisy as such, but spoilt the view and occasionally were swinging over your head whilst on your lounger. The worst things that I wish I knew before where that the pool is situated near a busy road with a lot of traffic and buses passing all the time however the main issue being the work they are doing - digging drilling hammering….. just not nice having that all going on when trying to relax. Some things missed in the renovation… No shower by pool - I don’t think the pool was re done but should have a shower for people to use before getting in There are no toilets by the pool. Also some days no music by pool or just played the same music all day might have been better to turn it up. To drown out the noise. Indoor pool - Changing rooms tired and showers had mould on the silicone. I don’t think this area was re done. I really feel that if they were opening with the work not complete then people should have been offered a discount. Breakfast very nice and good choice. Dinner - all the food was nice but don’t expect a big choice. It is quite limited. Bar area nice. Drinks reasonably priced and had live music on some nights which was good. My other issue was the fact they do not accept cash. Annoyingly we had changed Into euros that we then couldn’t use and had to pay by card all the time. This is quite a fundamental issue for foreign travellers - not everyone wants to pay on card with charges and especially when they have come with money exchanged ready to use and then can’t. I think this hotel will be good when it’s complete with the work and hopefully they still plan to carry on with upgrading some things that were missed. I had looked on here for reviews and it was quite early after them opening so hadn’t read about the noise at that point but I think it’s important that people are aware before they spend their hard earn money on a holiday where if you

The hotel was under construction, so we did not get to experience the spa and the view was obstructed a bit by cranes. Other than that, service was excellent. The room was very comfortable. We had a view of the ocean bay from our balcony. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was included and was quite comprehensive. I especially appreciated eating the local foods. The hotel is well situated, you can walk to many things including the aquarium. Our room was very quiet with the windows closed.

We stayed just 1 week 20th May . We were quite worried before we arrived regarding the noise and building work and seeing negative reviews. I had been corresponding with the hotel to check how bad it would be. Once we arrived after a very early flight 2am get up , our room was not ready and the told us to come back so we waited a while then told it would be even longer so decided to go outside and sit in the sunshine. We were given a lovely room on the 5th floor which was directly facing a crane but if you looked to the left the view was lovely of all the bay and beach /pools etc and everything . The crane itself was no bother except for being a view spoiler and there was very little noise when you are in the room . However our first full day we decided to sit by the pool in the afternoon, OMG the noise was terrible I think they were digging into the rocks , even the lady from the spa was laughing , she was trying to promote body massages and offered a free head massage , I said we certainly needed one with all that racket going on.......however that was the only time we had such a noise, after that it was just gentle noise from the crane whizzing by every so often and was no bother , I think they turned up the music a bit to drown it out, this was at the smaller pool. The bigger pool seemed more relaxing and had nice old fashioned music on so didnt disturb anyone. As for the pool area no nabbing beds before breakfast ..except we noticed a group of teenagers started doing it (there was no need) . The only confusing thing was the sunbed towels were not under a system yet (cards or whatever) so people were just using them and leaving them so it looked like beds were in use even if they were't. Also people were really lazy and leaving drink cups and mags and general rubbish and not binning it which I thought was bad , and no one came round cleaning it up. Also no toilets by the pool you have to go back into the building which I found odd . The good points however the room was lovely clean and tidy and a good balcony, fridge TV coffee and tea (kettle) Nice bed and bedding. Some confusion with the towels sometimes we didnt get our 2 big 2 small but generally we did . The breakfast was always good (same most days ) the coffee was the best Ive ever had in a hotel restaurant . We had an early departure at 7.00 and were not told we could have a packed breakfast ? so left without eating and relied on having time at the airport. The hotel bar was a nice quiet relaxing area and they had a bit of music on in the evenings which we would pop in for the last one before bed ! The poolside cafe was good they had lovely cakes, icecream and did proper meals too (we didnt try any as we went out each evening) All the staff were really pleasant and I think as they have only been open a short time are doing really well , obviously there will be settling in problems and its going to be a learning curve but give them time Im sure the hotel will be fabulous. Also o

I’ve just recently been to double tree Malta, the staff were extremely helpful with everything we needed to ask them, the receptionist Fanni bent over backwards to help us in every way she could. Just one problem which was a bit annoying was there was building work outside of the hotel in the road but the cranes were very near the pool area.

This hotel is not where it needs to be to meet its 4 star standard … after arriving from a very early flight with 2 young children our room was not ready , frustrating but it happens. we then got given a room to get changed in , a baby changing room for 2 adults , 2 kids and 4 suitcases … stressful and hot. We then asked where the restaurants are located so the children could eat to be told our all inclusive package does not start till 3pm . After expressing our frustration we then got offered lunch in the buffet. more confusion when we got there as someone else had used our room number so we waited longer for this to be resolved. even then our room was not ready and when it finally was the floor was soaking and my daughter slipped and hurt herself. we waited for our cases but they never came , 3 hours later they were then delivered. the light on our balcony still does not work (after mentioning this 3 times to reception). the animation team do there best but with there only being two team members it is impossible for them work miracles. there are no children’s shows or kids clubs as such just the odd activity and mini disco at 5pm. no stage area etc. the buffet is repetitive at both breakfast and lunch. we are still here and have enjoyed the ombré restaurant as the food is cooked to order and really nice as are the drinks. The cocktails and drinks are proper , no expense spared on them. the cranes are not great and neither is the noise. our balcony literally has one right in front of us. overall the hotel processes are disconnected and nothing really gets done to correct issues. the staff are doing their best but this is not what we expected from this brand.
