Burgh Island Hotel

From the moment you arrive to drop your car at the secure parking the level of care and service starts. The staff are all amazingly trained. Little things like “ can you remind me of your room?” makes you feels like they already know you. Good is amazing, particularly the breakfasts. Only a small hotel but one of the best. Can only give positive feedback. Well done to all of the team at the hotel.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough, it is absolutely beautiful. On arrival you sit in the gorgeous Palm Court and are greeted with a glass of Champagne. We were celebrating a special anniversary and every member of staff seemed to be aware of it. Our room , the Nettlefold suite was beautiful, clean spacious and comfortable. All the public areas are well maintained and everything has been chosen to be in keeping with the original era. We ate in both restaurants on our visits. The Nettlefold , which was slightly less formal for our first night and then the beautiful Ballroom for our 2nd night , which was quite special. Everyone was dressed in formal wear for dinner , which was lovely . The food was delicious and they obviously take great care in designing the menus . The canapés and cocktails in the lounge beforehand , where you are presented with your menu is a nice touch. The island is lovely and being cut off by the tide gives it an extra sense of specialness. The tractor ride was also great fun. The management should also recognise just how brilliant their staff are . They are all exceptional from the guys who pick you up , the cleaning staff , reception , bar and restaurant staff. You should be very proud. An absolutely gorgeous place to stay .

The island lived up to its art deco image and reputation, aided by an outstanding staff team; good food, luxurious drinks, a**ospheric decor; great attention to detail throughout, we just loved the experience.

What a beautiful hotel, it was like stepping back in time. Felt special as a couple from arriving in the car park and taken over the hotel to the friendliest and stress less check in ever. The staff were amazing nothing too much effort. The suite we had Josephine Parker Suite was wonderful, spacious with the most amazing views. After noon tea was truly wonderful.

Staff genuinely enjoy their jobs, clean friendly, areas of authenticity, we ate at Pilchard Inn as it was so old, breakfast choices good, trip on tractor essential.

We had a wonderful stay to celebrate our 30th anniversary, from the moment we were met at the car park to the end of our stay we were treated so kindly , the staff are all excellent especially the guy that collects you from the mainland and the hotel is beautiful… we stayed in the nettlefield suite ,it is expensive but worth it for the experience… we enjoyed the food but would of liked a more varied menu ,we had no problems with communication or understanding the instructions from the hotel about what to do on arrival .. the weather was bad so we didn’t get to try the sea tractor or the mermaid pool … there are definitely things that could be done better to enhance the experience which I have fed back privately to the hotel via their survey ,.. but overall it was a truly memorable stay .

A wonderful and idyllic location that breaks you away from the modern world. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are lovely and elegant. The staff have been incredibly friendly and helpful, cementing what has been a fantastic stay.
