The location is fantastic, right near Pingkang Street. It's close to Dongmen MRT station, just a 3-minute walk away, and there's a Family Mart and 7-Eleven nearby. The room was okay, but there wasn't enough space around the sink in the bathroom to put things. And the soundproofing was pretty poor 🥲, luckily the next-door neighbors went to bed early. The lighting wasn't great, especially near the entrance, which made it hard to do makeup and hair 🤷🏻♂️

Prime Location (5/5)
The hotel boasts an incredibly convenient location. It is only about 100 meters away from the metro station, making travel around the city very easy. Additionally, there is a 7-Eleven right downstairs, which is perfect for late-night snacks or quick necessities.
Staff Service (4/5)
The staff were helpful with a late check-in.
Important Note: If you plan to check in after 10 PM (22:00), you should inform the front desk in advance so they can prepare and assist you properly.
Room Condition & Amenities (2.5/5)
The room offered just enough basic amenities for a stay. However, I encountered a major issue: I found a cockroach during my stay.
Although daily housekeeping was provided, the floor cleanliness was unsatisfactory. I still found small pieces of trash left over from the previous day, suggesting the cleaning was superficial.
Overall, the hotel is just acceptable.
Choose this hotel if: you prioritize a fantastic, convenient location and budget is a major factor.
Look elsewhere if: you are seeking a more luxurious or high-end experience with guaranteed immaculate cleanliness.

This is my first time staying at this hotel.
Pro:
1) Good location. Easy access to two MRT stations on the red line. Quite a lot of shops and restaurants in the vicinity.
2) the bed is very big and quite comfortable to sleep on.
3) the room is spacious comparing with other hotels at the same price range.
Cons:
1) Very dated room without maintenance. There’s wear and tear all over the places. There were some stains on the wall and molds were found inside the shower cubicle. The carpet looked quite dirty but the slippers provided were very thin.
2) Weird layout of the room. The toilet area is in open plan which make you unable to have privacy when going to shower. In the room I stayed in, a pillar was blocking the view of the TV from the toilet area.
3) the lights in the room are quite dim and the room became very cold at night (even I turned the air conditioner to 30 degrees!). I stayed there alone and didn’t really like the feeling.
It is adjacent to the MRT station, which provides convenience for the travelers; the rooms adopt a softer and soothing tone, hoping to bring customers a more relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
We adjacent to Shida Night Market and Gongguan business district, less than two minutes away from Exit 4 of MRT Taipower Building MRT Station, convenience store is less than 200 kilometers away Square feet, convenient and comprehensive living functions, sandwiched between two top universities in Taiwan.
After a rest, no matter where you want to go, it is very convenient, and nearby environment makes it easy for tourists to worry.
GGuest User2025.05.24
I stayed in a double suite without windows. It took a while for the air conditioner to reach that temperature after adjusting the temperature. The bed was very comfortable and the quilt was of good quality. The service staff has a great attitude! When we first encountered a problem at the check-in counter, we immediately sought help from the service staff and the problem was resolved immediately.

For a budget hotel, this was one of - if not the best - I've experienced. The room was clean, well-maintained and furnished with all the basic provisions one may need for a short stay. As I arrived early in the morning and could not check in till later, I spent some time in the business lounge where there was a generous assortment of refreshments. The location of the hotel was wonderful as well - you are walking distance away from a night market (Shi Da night market), convenience and fruit stores, and the very vibrant and fun Da An shopping district.

I had a really enjoyable stay at MeWorld of Taipei, and overall it was a very positive experience from start to finish. The accommodation was clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully designed, making it a comfortable place to come back to after long days exploring the city. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt welcoming and well organized, which immediately gave me peace of mind.
One of the highlights for me was the convenience of the location. Getting around Taipei was easy, with public transport, food options, and convenience stores all within walking distance. This made daily planning very flexible, whether I was heading out early in the morning or returning later at night. The area felt safe and lively, yet quiet enough to rest properly.
The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful throughout my stay. Any questions I had were answered patiently, and communication was smooth and clear. Check‑in and check‑out were straightforward and hassle‑free, which is something I really appreciate when traveling. It’s clear that the team takes pride in keeping the place comfortable and pleasant for guests.
The room itself was comfortable, tidy, and suitable for resting or working, with everything I needed for a short or longer stay. The environment was calm and relaxing, making it easy to sleep well despite being in a busy city like Taipei. I also appreciated how clean the common areas were, showing good attention to hygiene and maintenance.
Overall, MeWorld of Taipei offers great value for money and is a solid choice for travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and a smooth stay experience. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Taipei and would happily recommend it to friends, whether they are traveling solo, with family, or for work.

I had a room with a shower though a shared toilet - not a problem as the toilets were always clean and close to my room. The room felt spacious as it had the sofa area under the platform bed. The bed was comfortable and had lights/power sockets up at the platform. Even though there was no kitchen there was fridge/freezer, microwave and hot/cold water dispenser that can be used. There are tables and chairs in the common area.
As advertised it is basement with no windows , did not feel claustrophobic to me.
Points to consider:
- need to bring own towels or hire one
- There are steps that roll out to climb on the platform bed, it was very stable though I would have felt more stable if there was something to hold on to with my right hand
- no way to turn off main light while in the platform do either have to climb up in dark or climb up , turn on bed light then climb down to turn off main light then back up again.
Location: convenient to get so as direct line from Songshan airport to Xiamen station. 10 min walk to hotel. I used NYU hospital stop for getting around as it was closer. The hotel is just a couple mins walk from peace park which is a lovely place to sit and relax.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise! The entrance is a bit unassuming, but once inside, it has a very retro feel. The front desk is quite small, and there's nowhere to sit. You also need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. The location is excellent, right next to the subway, and there's a 7/11 less than 5 minutes away. There's even a Din Tai Fung nearby. The most amazing part is the transparent elevator – you can see murals going up and down! What a great value!

Booked a single room for my business trip to Taipei this time, and it was excellent value for money. The breakfast had a good variety and consistent quality. The room was clean and tidy, and there was a water dispenser right by room 618, which was super convenient for hot and cold water – the hot water even reached 100 degrees, perfect for instant noodles! The only downsides were the lack of a convenience store nearby and the less-than-ideal transportation; the nearest MRT station, Taipower Building, was a 10-15 minute walk, a bit far.

GGuest User1. Misleading Entrance Signage
Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable.
2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance
When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside?
3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior
After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues.
As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight.
We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of:
- Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance
- Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival
- Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior
We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future.
Thank you for your attention.
SStella_CThe location is amazing! From Taipei Main station exit Z2 or M6. Go to the building and reception is at level 5. Many food places nearby, including local and international chains, and Starbucks as well. Staff are generally friendly. However, we were plagued by mosquitoes in the room everyday and every night, had to keep fighting them. The air con control panel is a dud. It's actually central air conditioning yet they just told us it is slow to adjust. As a result we were freezing through the first part of the night then too warm for the 2nd part. When it gets too cold, even if we turn off the air con, we can feel the cold air continue to come out of the vents. When I asked if it's possible to change room, reception claimed they were fully booked. Not my best stay in Taiwan I'm afraid. I guess its great for those who prefer rooms constantly around 21-22 Celcius.
GGuest UserThe location is fantastic, right opposite the Y13 exit. First off, you'll need to climb stairs to reach the service counter as there's no elevator. The bathroom is en-suite, and they provide lockers. As for the bed setup, there's a small space at the head for personal items, and extra room at the foot of the bed for your luggage, backpack, and other belongings, which really helps create a more private feel. They offer a simple breakfast including toast, buns, shaomai, coffee, and tea.
SShuxiaThe location is fantastic, right behind Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. The elevators and front desk area look a bit dated, but the staff were decent. They put a large bed in the room, but because the room was small and the duvet wasn't warm enough, I got cold in the middle of the night and had to turn off the air conditioning. The kettle had dust and limescale marks. However, the bathroom was really clean, and the toilet was modern. I was genuinely surprised and impressed that the shower had two types of showerheads. It's a very good budget hotel. I'd definitely consider staying here again in the future.
AAlouAccomodation is very convenient walking distance to Ximending, Ximen Train station and Taipei Main Station. Other guests are very respectful in the room and maintaining cleanliness and noise. Very safe for solo travelers! You can also self check-out. Overall highly recommended. ❤️
AAnonymous UserGotten a basement room, the room is clean but kinda small to open up the luggage. Also because it's basement room, there is a constant musky smell emitting from the toilet and filled up the room pretty fast. Have request for a change of room but it is similar issue. Overall it's a comfortable stay near XMD but the room smell is pretty bad.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is great, and it's also close to Taipei Main Station. If you're taking the Airport MRT, I recommend exiting from Taipei Main Station A1, Exit 5. From there, you can walk straight to the hotel, which takes about 10 minutes (including waiting for traffic lights).
The nearby MRT stations are NTU Hospital Station (3-minute walk) and Taipei Main Station (7-minute walk). There are also many bus stops, making transportation very convenient.
Regarding the check-in experience, the hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor, and guest rooms for this hotel occupy floors 3-5. There are only two elevators, and since the building houses other businesses, waiting for an elevator can take a while.
The front desk staff were professional and efficient. Before check-in, there was about a minute-long 'rap' outlining the check-in policies.
The hotel bed was comfortable, and the room and bathroom were clean. It seems to have been recently renovated, as it felt spacious and bright. Soundproofing was acceptable; I could still hear cleaning noises from outside and sounds from the adjacent room. I chose a room with a window this time, but the window couldn't be opened.
Amenities provided were limited to slippers and toilet paper. The shampoo and shower gel were a 2-in-1 product, with a light, pleasant scent and no strange odors.
Overall, it was a pretty good stay, even exceeding my expectations.
(Attached: hotel check-in instructions, a picture before check-out, and the nearest Airport MRT exit to the hotel.)
GGuest UserThis hotel is super convenient, just a 1-minute walk from Taipei Main Station's M2 exit. You can easily walk to Ningxia Night Market and Ximending in about 20 minutes, and even Dihua Street if you're up for it. Popular spots like Fuhang Soy Milk and Shuangyue Food Company are also within walking distance, so you'll have no trouble finding great food and shopping from morning till night.
The guest rooms are located on the 5th to 7th floors of a multi-purpose building. While the double bed takes up most of the room, making it quite compact, there's a small indoor balcony-like space at the back. It has a compact table and chairs, perfect for eating takeout, and enough room to open your suitcase.
JjasbetaSince it was the New Year holiday, the hotel price was quite expensive. It's an older hotel, but still clean, and the location is good for getting around. I'd consider staying here again next time I visit Taiwan (of course, the weekday prices are much cheaper).
Some top places to stay in Taipei are near popular attractions like Taipei 101 and Shilin Night Market—so you can quickly get to top landmarks and amenities you need.
