Hotels near The Strand - Downtown, Galveston

Tips: Those with balconies are facing the sea sideways, and the floor positions are not ideal. It is recommended to have a high-rise sea view room. Although there is no balcony, a front view of the Gulf of Mexico is still very good. Evaluation: The front desk service is very good, the hotel parking building 2F directly leads to the front desk, the room facilities are complete, the sanitation is good, the Lexington aircraft carrier is 5KM away from the aircraft carrier, and the South Texas Art Museum designed by Philip Jensen is within walking distance. Very recommended!

The room was overall clean, but when the toilet didn't quite smell right (yuck) and when I looked there was evidence that the area under the rim hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. We were happy with the location being a bit out of town for the price. The staff was great, the upfront push to buy a timeshare was expected and only took about 10 minutes of our time. Overall, we'd stay again but ask that our bathroom be cleaned more thoroughly.

It started out with non-operating elevators. It took two hours just to unload into the room from the car. The next morning I found out that a tree that I parked nearby had dropped sap all over our car to the point the windshield was virtually unusable. It will cost me hundred of dollars to get the sap removed from the car. The next night at about 9:30 PM the fire alarm in our room went off because the neighbors we cooking something next door and required maintenance to come up to the rooms to reset the alarms all while the alarm was blaring. Then since we were booked for 4 nights, the amount of towels provided was never enough. The check-in took way too long as we were subjected to way to much after-sales pitches just to get a parking pass. Then the room keys didn't work and we had to go all the way back to the office to get that fixed. The pool was enjoyable and not too busy while we were there.

The hotel is clean, big, ( even the washroom), with great ocean view Balcony.. it only just need extra careful ( of course) when crossing tye road , if you want to explore the beach... The location may a bit far from the downtown, if you need to explore more the town... but it has a closer theme park, Moody Garden ,which is very nice place to visit for a day... They have a ready , trusted , recommended transpos, if you need too..

The hotel is right by the sea, full of a strong holiday atmosphere. When I left the hotel, I crossed the road to the beach and the sea. At night, I heard the sound of waves beating gently. The breakfast is rich. To take the carnival Cruise, you can park the car at the hotel and have a shuttle to board the boat, which is cheap and convenient. Galveston is a leisurely mini tourist harbour island, there are some attractions worth seeing, and there are attractions maps everywhere on the island

My family and I use this Hotel very often. Perfect position on the beach, beautiful view from balcony that still feels private, beds are comfortable. If you dont plan on staying in the room much, this place is perfect! Only down fall for this trip was the prepping for summer season. Many many rooms were being worked on on our floor so it was constantly loud and had construction workers in and out all day. Water was shut off for hours on day 2 so we werent able to shower or bathe the baby for a bit after being outside for hours. And the pressure washing going on outside the building was LOUD! BUT- my kid loved the workers and they were so friendly and apologetic. Worth the few mishaps that popped up! (Also for anyone with doggies or kiddos who like to run around! There is a side part under the parking that is PERFECT for a quick kiddo run around or a puppy play time. BUT THERE ARE RATTLE SNAKES ALONG THE FENCE!!!! SO BE CAUTIOUS)

The front desk was helpful and friendly. I love the self serve beverages and fruit in the lobby. That was nice and unexpected. The hot breakfast was descent/good. Better than continental breakfast. The bed was ok but the bathroom smelled of urine the whole time we stayed there. There were tiny bugs crawling all around the tub. We couldn't open the safe and went to use the phone to call front desk then found out it did not work. Had to walk to the office to notify them which the maintenance guy came right way to open it. I love the location but overall the place is out dated and need major work. I was surprised there weren't any noise outside the room or other rooms around us considering the place was completely booked.

We stayed the weekend. However breakfast was only cereal, waffles, and muffins. Rooms were dirty behind furniture like nothing is moved to clean. There was spilled milk beside the fridge that was never cleaned from before. When checking out attendant did not want to engage. Stayed in a side room doing laundry rather than showing customer support. Just had us leave keys on counter and said we could go. Who does that? Not the best experience for sure.

It is only a two-minute walk from the beach. There is a Chinese restaurant on the front and back of the hotel. There is a bar in the restaurant, which tastes good. There is a small swimming pool in the hotel, the water quality is average~ but the sea is very close! The basic configuration in the room is shown in the figure, and the air conditioning is very comfortable! There are refrigerators, TVs, microwaves, hair dryers, and the mattresses are more comfortable, clean, and cost-effective. Breakfast is relatively simple, with fewer types of food, and is part of the configuration of a cheaper American hotel~ Free parking! Free Wi-Fi!

The room is very clean and big with full finished. Location is good.
