"Staff was super friendly. We was upgraded to better rooms, which is more spacious. The breakfast was OK. They helped booking the excursion - the dinner cruise and white rhino, which were excellent. Highly recommended."

"WE had an unexpected overnight stay in this luxury hotel courtesy of Kenya Airways as our flight was overbooked. The meals were excellent but the service was very slow. The air conditioning in our room did not work but we were supplied with a fan. The pool and surroundings are lovely and the staff were delightful, though some of the waiting staff did not seem to understand English. Finding somewhere cool in the hotel was difficult as it was exceptionally hot but I found refuge in Reception where there was a through flow of air."

"This lodge with its 10 rooms, private deck with pools, including a pool for children and its own restaurant was a magnificent place to stay in Zambia. The service is something you just can’t begin to imagine. Kennedy was particularly amazing, as was Naomi and destiny. They were just incredibly helpful The first night, I had trouble sleeping because the mattress was really really hard. In short order, they had removed the mattresses from our room replaced them and did everything in their power to give us a comfortable stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated, fully appointed, and you really feel like you’re staying in Africa. If you’re coming to Livingston, I don’t know why you would stay anywhere else."

"Location is the outstanding point for this hostel, just behind Livingstone museum and walking distance to many shops and supermarket. The price of drink or food was quite high but acceptable. Staff was ok."

Protea Hotel Livingstone ★★★
"I had an OK stay here. Livingstone was lovely and relaxed. Hotel staff was kind and helpful. Only issue with the activity desk with their sort of aggressive payment requirements. Once I was late for the Botswana Chobe day tour (they had told me it started at 8, when it really started at 7) so I could not pay that morning and then they hounded me to pay in Botswana (at an inflated exchange rate) instead of waiting for my return to pay in USD which I had readily available in my room. That left quite a sour taste in my mouth."

"Me and my wife stayed here for 3 nights during our silver wedding trip throughout Southern Africa. And this hotel is surely not the fanciest hotel in Livingstone. But in a city so expensive as Livingstone, it provided us with a very good option at an affordable price and a nice base to explore the city’s activities. The staff was always very nice and tried to help in anything they could. The room was good, although we aren’t already very used to such a soft mattress. A fan on the ceiling tried to replace (not always with success) the traditional air-con. But a nice pool in the garden was a pleasure to overcome the heat. They were also very nice by offering a bottle of champagne to celebrate our silver wedding. We had warned a few days before our arrival and they didn't forget! One minus I can’t avoid stating: even though we understand that we are in Africa, waiting for 30-50 minutes for breakfast to be served is a little too much…"

"I highly recommend my hotel in Livingstone. The environment here is very good, the staff is very enthusiastic, you can communicate with the front desk about the itinerary and ask the front desk to help book a car to Kazungula Pass and enter Botswana. The breakfast here is very clean, there is a pizza oven in the kitchen, where you can eat freshly made pizza, and you can watch the European Cup. There is also a bar in the hotel where you can come here to relax and meet other people at night. Highly recommended, affordable, beautiful environment, and friendly staff. I highly recommend the hotel I stayed at in Livingstone. The environment is beautiful and relaxing, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can easily communicate with the front desk to help arrange your itinerary, including booking a ride to the Kazungula border for entry into Botswana. for relaxing in the evening and meeting new people. I truly enjoyed my stay here. Great value for money, lovely surroundings, and genuinely kind staff. Highly recommended!"

"The room is "tired", but it has everything you need: a refrigerator, a kettle, a safe. Of the toiletries, however, there is only soap. The hotel staff are friendly. We had an unusual situation: we did not have local currency, and the hotel did not have an exchange office, dollars and euros were not accepted. The staff offered to feed us dinner on credit, but this was unacceptable for us, so we dined on the remains of breakfast. Then the next evening, apparently deciding that guests can lose weight from hunger, they gave us dinner. Thank you for the unexpected service! The portions are large, the food is delicious."

"From the moment the gate opens and we leave the path where night time elephants trod, the vibe engulfs us. Smiling staff greet with cloth and juice, show us to our impeccable room and open the door onto the sparkling pool. *sigh*. The bar is well stocked with purified ice to cool and quench (try a Malawian Shandy!!), the food exquisite, and the small personal touches by staff were charming and heartfelt. Kudos to Destiny, Stella, Kennedy and darling Naomi, along with all the others we didn't personally meet."

Gloria's Bed and Breakfast ★★★
"Gloria, her family and staff are amazing! We stayed at Gloria’s for 3 weeks, whilst visiting family and friends in Livingstone. Approximately a 10 min walk from town, the supermarket, Livingstone Museum etc. A very quiet and safe area, every time we walked into town everybody was extremely friendly, we definitely made friends along the way! A perfect home from home experience. The rooms are spotless, fresh bedding & towels every 2 days, TV, fridge, coffee, tea etc replenished daily. Air conditioning and a fan which runs of solar in case of power cut. Swimming pool and sun beds/ chairs if you feel like a dip. Breakfast, if and when you want it, the girls couldn’t be more helpful or accommodating. Washing done at a great price. I really have nothing but praise for Gloria and all her staff. We will definitely be back when we are visiting again. Thank you guys ☺️"
