The Live Hotel

We spent four wonderful days here. The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and they are very kind. the only difficulty was that I didn't have many options as a vegan, almost nothing for breakfast. If there were three or four vegan options for breakfast, at the snack bar and dinner, the place would be perfect.

Our king room was very small (under 200sf). It consisted of a hard bed, with small hard pillows, a table and two chairs across from the bed, and a TV on the wall. The fridge, microwave and coffee service were all in the closet. There wasn't room to hang clothes and the suitcase had to sit on the table. This was the case for both rooms we were in. Water had to be turned on for five minutes before you got any hot water. You can hear every time your neighbors turned on the water as the pipes make lots of noise. Our first room didn't get any local TV channels and the maintenance just said "oh well at least you get cable channels". They do charge for parking and there are only about 24 (unguaranteed) spaces. The neighborhood is very blighted. Homeless camp out front in tents and there is graffiti covering every inch of the neighborhood. The "free" breakfast wasn't even up to continental status. Staff was friendly and efficient. One star for staff.

We stayed at the Live Hotel this past week for three nights. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was odd. One day they had sausage and no eggs then the next day boiled eggs and no bacon or sausage. I found that odd. The beds were comfortable and the rooms seem to have been updated. However The area the hotel is in is awful. The neighborhood is not good. Trash and graffiti is everywhere you look. We did not feel safe walking anywhere. This was my first time visiting Los Angeles and I have to say I was so disappointed in the city and their lack of at least picking up trash and doing anything to control the graffiti. To put it bluntly the neighborhood is filthy. Parking is $11.00 per night which I thought was a bit much but they did have security at night to make up for the fee. The Korean BBQ across the street was delicious and that is as far as we ventured out walking. Even though the hotel was in itself nice and very clean I will not be staying there again simply because of the area. Los Angeles has a serious trash and graffiti problem that they need to address. I rated this hotel 3 stars mainly because of the horrible location.

Excellent service, the kiosk, security, housekeeping and front desk service was amazing. My housekeeper did an awesome job. The first day my bed sheet was stained I believed was from the washer or dryer but they take care of me and I have and amazing 4 days stay.

I really enjoyed staying at the hotel. Looked better than the exterior. Enjoyed breakfast which came complementary. You do have to pay for parking $11 per night which is not bad for this area. They have a coffee shop in the lobby and enjoyed working there. Staff are nice and the room is simple and modern!

I came here for the woman engineer conference. The room was spacious and modern. They have microwave and refrigerator in my room. The staff was really helpful and let me print out resumes at no charge. Liked the breakfast, specifically pancakes were delicious!

Unsafe area, sketchy lobby, and there is a virtual check-in with someone on Zoom. I did not like it. I did not feel safe or welcome. My phone didn't work in my room, my colleague had no hot water, my other colleague had a weird room with a sliding glass door to a joint balcony. All the rooms looked different. The breakfast area did not feel very nice and needs some work. All the staff were very nice and responsive. They were the silver lining to this weird nightmare experience.
