Partner and I celebrating with what was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime for a 10 year anniversary. Due to COVID-19 overreaction I've never seen a stay go from so great to absolutely terrible in such a short space of time. On check-in and first day, it was perfection; staff were really friendly, we were upgraded to a club level mountain view room, provided with a complementary bottle of Chandon, breakfast excellent, executive lounge with free savory snacks & wine, great room and location. However found this good news was to be extremely short lived as things rapidly deteriorated that we couldn't wait to get out - not just the hotel but Mendoza in general. We had been following the news closely so knew of developments and the country entry limits /14 day quarantine etc. As Canadian residents with UK passports (haven't been back in 3 yrs) and being in South America for over 3 weeks we were fine under the current criteria. However we got back from a tour on the 2nd day with a note in our room saying that we need to be confined to our room for the rest of our stay despite no questions prior, using all hotel facilities and having the passport as proof. The note also asked us to send a random immigration phone number pictures of our entry stamp /passport as proof. Before breakfast we Whatapp'd the pictures as asked then went downstairs, however almost immediately some burly, meathead security guard pounced on us as soon as we left the elevator, saying we needed to go back to our room asap, to have breakfast in our room and wasn't allowed in the breakfast area limiting to only 50 people (yet letting in all other Spanish speakers without even a word - it was clear xenophobia). We eventually resolved with the guest svs mgr fortunately when the immigration number confirmed we were fine after a lengthy exchange. All of this would have been cleared up had they looked at our entry stamps from the start instead of jumping to conclusions based on Passport issuing country alone. For the remainder of the stay service was stripped down completely (e.g. select from menu instead of buffet), staff may as well have worn hazmat suits and place felt deserted. Who knows how many people were locked up in their rooms. For the rest of our stay it was absolutely terrible, Argentine's stare a lot, but you could see they had nothing to do but gossiping about us like a walking virus everywhere we went - seeing a hundred eyes from housekeeping to the lobby staff. It was so unpleasant and felt completely unwelcome. I'm not fully pinning the blame on Sheraton, as a lot was out of their hands - but made the situation 10 times worse and should realize who the source of their wages are when treating customers. We invested a lot of money into Argentina but based on this experience not sure if I want to visit ever again.

Issue #1: first day. I had prepaid my 3 night reservation for this hotel which looked fine on pictures. When checking in the receptionist refused to take my international debit card for deposit as incidentals, card that I was able to use in multiple businesses around Argentina. He refused even though there is a sign from their country's Ministry of Finance stating debit cards cannot be refused. They could so easily had charged my card and refund it afterwards (as other Argentinian businesses do). The receptionist said their system doesn't allow it. This is already dissapointing considering it's a US chain hotel where one expects certain standards. I had to leave a cash deposit. He did not provide me with a receipt for this money until I asked for one. Issue #2: second day. After returning from walking around town on a very hot day, find out the card to my room was deactivated. I had to go to reception to ask for it to be re-activated. The staff working was the same as the previous day; when they saw me they exchanged complicit glances and smirks. The situation seemed to be funny to them! Issue #3: second day. Finally able to access my room, wanted to shower and come to find out it the room had been cleaned but the only two large towels were removed (no extras anywhere to be found as most hotels will have). I had to call reception to ask for towels, and after a while what I received were small, hand towels. Towels were made from a rough material, don't expect anything soft when you go to Hilton Mendoza. After a while a second person delivered two large towels. Conclusion: I am beyond dissapointed and (still) angry over booking a vacation at Hilton Mendoza! I did not envision traveling from the USA over 18 hours on airplanes and 7 hours by bus to stay at a US hotel with all of these issues! 4 star rating on Trip advisor is completely incorrect! I don't go on vacation abroad to be wasting precious time having conversations with hotel management over their subpar costumer service. Do yourself a favor and don't book Hilton Mendoza!

The staff here are amazing. Everyone on the front desk were so kind and helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel special. We will never forget the level of service that we received. The breakfast buffet was great! Only wish the restaurant was open again. The pool area is nice, and it’s a 15 minute walk to Plaza Independecia, with the main restaurant areas close by to go to. Overall, it’s a great hotel and we will stay there again on our next trip!👍👍👍👍👍

The hotel is well located but needs maintenance, and the small and hygiene is not so good compared to the other hotels in the network that are next to it.

The hotel has 15 rooms, 12 in a two storey block (no lift) and 3 deluxe 'wine barrel' shaped detached rooms. Our room was large with rather spartan furniture and a nice balcony overlooking fields and the countryside. We found it a bit strange that after using their nice room coffee machine, on the first morning we were charged for 'coffee pods' for the machine there after. A good size swimming pool with about 20 sunbeds, some needing attention, which generally are used by guests in the late afternoon when the heat of the sun is lower. There are no sun shades. Breakfast is a buffet type, with a reasonable choice, and their machine dispenses has a good range of really nice coffee. At 3 breakfast meals we took, we were only offered eggs once, I think you need to ask, we also heard bacon mentioned. Dinner was good, food well cooked and presented, and reasonably priced. Their efficient waiter was an asset to the hotel. Several reviews mentioned the dogs, during our stay they was kept away from the guest area only appearing on the BBQ night. There is a bit of 'dog barking' from other places in the surrounding area. The main draw back, we found, was the hotel's isolated location, we were quoted 600 pesos for an Uber cab to town. Luckily here, the food and staff are both excellent and we had a very pleasant stay.
