Like in other reviews, the main pro about this hotel is location. Very convenient for metro and bus access, and within reasonable walking distance to the Palacio Real. However, that’s about the only reason to book this hotel. The Front Desk staff was rude, unaccommodating, and just plain wrong. He insisted that the room was not suitable for two when the booking and rate type, both in my confirmation email and in the IHG app, clearly showed “SLEEPS 2.” When I asked if it’s a twin bed in the room, he said no it’s a queen. So I asked what’s the problem then? As we were getting our keys he then said by the way breakfast would normally be for one but in this case I give you guys the second breakfast free. As if he were trying to come across as doing us a favor, when I know for a fact that the rate I booked included breakfast for up to two guests. Our best guess is this person was ********** (it was myself and my ******** partner) and couldn’t stand the idea of us being in this room together. This is also all without so much as even acknowledging my loyalty (Gold) with IHG. I’ve stayed at Holiday Inn Expresses with considerably more welcoming staff than this man (won’t name him by name unless IHG reaches out) displayed at this property. Stay at this property for the location but don’t pay anything more than 60€ per night. Anything more than that is a rip off. And don’t expect to be given a warm welcome by this particular front desk person. There was another person - a woman - working the front desk but our interactions with her were unfortunately limited. Perhaps the experience would have been better if we had been welcomed by her as she was considerably more pleasant.

Although the room is small, but the bathroom is large, it is relatively clean, the boutique hotel address is good, in the city center, not far from the palace, the hotel service is more user-friendly, although the room is not included in the breakfast, but there will be a small bread every morning. And a bottle of water on the door, very intimate

The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable and the hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. The only thing I noticed, perhaps x my age, that would miss a little more lighting in the entrance. I was hard to see to put the key. I recommend it and I would return to any other Sonder without doubt.
Barceló Torre de Madrid

We were in Madrid for the first time, and picked Barcello de Torre primarily based on location and the glowing reviews on Trip Advisor. Anything you read that's positive is true: it's new, clean, perfectly located, reasonably priced, great breakfast, etc, but it seems like every menber of the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. It's an easy walk to the Royal Palace, the Plaza de Espana subway stop is directly across the street, lots of restaurants close by, easy walk to Puerta del Sol, excellent dinner in the restaurant. large rooms. An extremely well run operation that should be the model for others in it's class.

Madrid City Center
Traveling abroad to Madrid, this hotel is relatively close to the city center, with convenient transportation and easy access. The breakfast in the morning is simple but nutritious. It is worth recommending and will come to live again next time.

My husband & 3 adult kids stayed here for 2 days before traveling off to the coast. We booked a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom room--this place was fantastic! It was very modern & nicely decorated, large, spotless & had every amenity one would ever need (small kitchenette, Nespresso machine, washer, etc). The large living room had a sleeper sofa & we had a small terrace off the back bedroom. The apts are in a very central location near metro stop, there are lots of restaurants & bars nearby. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The only slight negative (which wouldn't prevent me from staying there again), was that the beds were a bit hard & could have better mattresses. Will definitely look to stay there again when in Madrid--as well would book Eric Vokel Apts in other cities.

Good location on metro and bus routes and within walking distance of many sights. Not luxurious but given the cost i wouldn't expect it to be. The apartment (1 bedroom) was clean and spacious enough. All single beds /sofa bed so if you wanted a double this room wouldn't be suitable Balconies not for sitting on as they arec tiny. Oven not usable due to no racks but hob was fine for a short visit. The bathroom was the main problem as a strong stomach was needed to cope with the smell, we had to keep the bathroom door permanently closed tight to avoid it stinking out the whole apartment. Probably wouldn't recommend it to a friend but not awful if you just want a basic place to crash.
