As a Marriott Titanium / Lifetime Platinum Elite Guest, our family [husband, wife and two young daughters] decided to visit Madrid, Spain to start our month-long 2023 summer vacation in Europe. We spent five (5) nights at Westin Palace Madrid using our Bonvoy points in late May / early June 2023. Please see the thirty-eight (38) photos we posted with this review of all aspects of the hotel. Within days after making our five (5) night stay using Marriott Bonvoy points approximately ten (10) months prior to our arrival date, we emailed General Manager, Pablo Flores and advised him of our future stay as well as our special requests, including our request for an Executive Suite, which would comfortably host our family of four. Within hours of our email, we received a thoughtful reply Paloma Hidalgo, Director of Rooms, whom immediately provided us with a complimentary guaranteed upgrade to an Executive Suite and further, Ms. Hidalgo readily granted all of our other special requests. The prompt response did not come as a surprise to us given how active the management of this property is in reading and promptly replying to past guests on Trip Advisor as well as the Marriott Bonvoy website, which is but a mere sign of management’s commitment to exemplary customer service. Not surprisingly, we were overjoyed with such a response and really looked forward to our future stay at The Westin Palace Madrid. This gorgeous historic hotel is magnificently located in Madrid overlooking the Neptune Fountain and less than a three minute walk to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, less than a five minute walk to the Prado Museum and less than a ten minute walk to the Reina Sofia Museum. It is also extremely close to Retiro Park and is within an easy 15 minute walk to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Gran Via as well as many bars, restaurant, trendy cafés, market and other cultural attractions. You can easily walk everywhere throughout the entire city but public transportation options abound in close proximity to the hotel as well. Our initial visit to the Westin Palace Madrid did not disappoint, especially when the hotel accommodated our extremely early check-in (before 9:00 am). The check-in process with Ms. Hidalgo, Estefanía Martinez, Front Office Assistant Manager and Juan at the reception desk was a breeze. Further, Ms. Martinez was kind enough to personally escort us to our suite and show us all of the features and amenities of same. This was very thoughtful on the part of Ms. Martinez and very much appreciated. Throughout our entire five (5) night stay, Ms. Hidalgo and Ms. Martinez were especially helpful and friendly. We simply loved our Palace Executive Suite with slightly over 1,000 square feet in total space with a sublime view of the Neptune Fountain; it was truly remarkable. Further, upon entering, we discovered that Mr. Flores and his team were kind enough to provide us with several 1 liter bottles of both sparking water (Vichy Catalan) and sti

The neighborhood is formed by narrow streets which are either pedestrianized or with restricted access to traffic, and pleasant squares such as the Plaza de Santa Ana. This is an area where it is easy to find houses in which towering literary figures of the Spanish Golden Age such as Lope de Vega, Quevedo, Góngora and Cervantes lived and wrote. This is why on the cobbles of many of the streets you'll find inscriptions and brief texts from the works of some of these writers.Another of the charms of the Las Letras quarter is its abundant offer of shops and businesses, which include everything from the most traditional establishments with centuries of history (such as cobblers, silversmiths, and lute-makers) to modern avant-garde venues. You'll also find numerous restaurants and pavement cafes where you can enjoy the gastronomy of Madrid and the popular Spanish custom of 'going out for tapas'.A privileged apartment that overlooks a top roof in the heart of Madrid. This apartment is located in the heart of Madrid and the location is really unbeatable. It's within walking distance of a lot: the Royal Palace, the Prado and the Reina Sofia, the Plaza Mayor and the parks. It is also within walking distance of the Atocha train station (very convenient to visit Aranjuez, Toledo, Segovia,...). Metro stop just outside the building, Van transport from the airport for up to 8 pax for 45 euros, there is public parking in the same building and Low-Cost 200m awayThere are not three rooms as Booking indicates, but the living room has a door and a real bed which transforms the living room into a room with total privacy at night. There is also a large main room with a work table and WIFI with high-speed fiber (600mb). The second room has two single beds and two single bunk beds (4 pax). All mattresses are premium.

We stayed for a week and really enjoyed it. Exceptionally clean, really friendly and attentive staff, good atmosphere in the downstairs bar area and on the roof bar, good breakfast and very comfy, well equipped room. Wasn’t too sure initially about the area but we soon felt very comfortable and found some great bars and restaurants locally off the tourist trail. Great location for walking to the centre, La Latina, El Rastro, the park (El Retiro), the art galleries and metro/train connections. Loved Madrid.

Close to Atocha Railway Station, we walked to the hotel for about 15 minutes, and should be closer to the entrance. Free freshly ground coffee, tea bags and biscuits are available at the front desk for your own use. The room faces two of our rooms, one to the road and one to the patio. The downside is that there are no trash cans in the room and there is no kettle. We stayed for one night and the next day, I thought it was ok.

Our family of three had a tiny room barely big enough for the beds and no space for luggage. The door didn't even close without having to push it past the bed. But the main reason for the 1 star is that our room was broken into our first night while we were out to dinner. The door frames are very cheaply made. Oddly, nothing was stolen but it was upsetting. We had to repeatedly ask the management to fix the door and nothing was done to make things right. We were told we couldn't be moved to another room until our last night there, even though the room next to us became available. There are no additional facilities - no common areas, no self-catering. Just a room and that's it. Some of the rooms seem to be of a good size but as stated ours was very small. There was no fridge. The hotel has security problems. It can be accessed by anyone through the back by entering through the main building doors which were never locked. There was even a ladder propped up near the back windows making it easy to climb up to access the unbarred upper windows. Repeated attempts to address this were met with indifference by the front desk staff and I was told to contact the owner. I emailed, called, and sent a whatsapp and never got a response.

Stayed for 3 nights on Sept 19th. Room was small but comfortable bed. It's not for those who aren't comfortable with each other as the shower opens out into the room. Air con was strong and cold and you can adjust the temperature as it's your own room. Asked for a hairdryer at reception and it was a very powerful one. I only rate this a 4/5 as one day after leaving our room at 1030 (the cleaner was outside and asked if we wanted it cleaned and we told her we did) we got back around 6pm to find our door not closed properly, it was clearly ajar and we had no towels or toilet roll. We did go to reception and get those items but there was no apology for the room being left open. Thankfully nothing was taken. We also made use of the little outside space one evening and sat there with some drinks we had bought from the lidl down the road (turn right out the hotel and walk straight down to the main road and you can't miss it). Don't bother using public transport to get to Plaza Mayor it is only a 20 minute walk and you get to take it the streets of Madrid. We walked everywhere whilst here as the main areas you'll want to see are all within a 25-30min radius.

Super invincible recommended recommendation! It's a little farther from the old town, not too far from the train station and the Prado! It is also close to the subway. The breakfast is delicious! The room is good too!
