"We came for a short 5 night stay at Mooloolaba and chose Sandcastles on recommendation from a friend. It did not disappoint. We stayed in Room 201 which was well furnished, self contained, clean and was more than comfortable for our stay. Teagan, Joel and Maddy were fabulous hosts. They greeted us with smiles and we not only shared some humour but they also offered to loan us the coveted blue beach chair! They also gave us some great dining recommendations. "We had a lovely 7 week stay at waterfront canal house with our two chihuahuas It was lovely that Tara met us on arrival and took us thru the house . There was everything we needed in house :) I would’ve liked an extra tv in main bedroom so hubby and I could watch what we wanted in evenings The blue tongued lizard kept my little chihuahua amused She loved watching the birds thru bedroom window too . It would have been nice if a seperate fence and gate was across from kitchen window to next door , being as back garden was open all way to driveway gate . .. as we found it difficult getting the car out garage re Our chihuahua didn’t want to come inside . Just make sure you pack bug spray as the midges loved me 24/7 being by canal .‍♀️"

"The unit we stayed in was a home a way from home with all the mod cons with the luxury of high end apartments rooms were acceptionally spotless and presentation of the whole precinct gardens pools foyer staff and more what's going to bring myself and family and friends to come back as a long term holiday destisbtion. Super close to Alex surf club and ocean that's a treat in itself! Kids, what kids? With the facility itself don't really need to leave tennis courts basketball and bbq areas it's the bowling alley and the skate bowl that gave us memories we will continue to make whilst staying in the sunshine coast. Rhea and her team are always welcome with open arms and we didn't have to ask to much before all our needs were met this place gets a 5 star because it's location facilities internet apartments are under rated and the team here are just wonderful and makes our quality time a pleasant quiet when needed and lots to do so close to restaurants bars and the beach. Thankyou team mirage"

"The room is bit old but clean, great location and the pool and spa are nice. The kids’ play room is old and bit messy, unfortunately the reception staff was not on site so when we need to contact the staff over the phone she sounded confused too😂"

"I've just checked out this morning from a 3-night stay at this hotel and I've got to say, I'm incredibly disappointed. We stayed in apartment 16 and upon arrival found the floor in the living area appeared to have not been vacuumed. We later discovered when sitting in the living room to watch a movie that the space between the couch cushions was full of crumbs and lint, and the internet was so slow and spotty that we couldn't use any of the apps on either TV without hot spotting it.  When heading to bed that night, the remote for the bedroom fan was missing. We were unable to find it anywhere in the apartment and none of the other fan remotes would work for the main bedroom fan, so we were unable to use it for the duration of our stay. On Saturday night when trying to use the spa bath it was discovered that the jets don't work. On Sunday when we attempted to use the rooftop spa, we found it had a strange colour and smell, with sand already settled at the bottom as if it hadn't been cleaned from the last guests.  Finally, the double bed in the main bedroom. I understand some hotel will push together 2 singles to make up a double, however for $300 a night I at least expected the bed to be secured to the floor. My boyfriend attempted to lean against the headboard only to have the entire bed roll away from him. If I'd known this was the sleeping situation I would have had second thoughts on my booking. I was really looking forward to this trip and spent more than I typically would on a room I thought would provide a comfortable and luxurious place to spend our downtime, and have been left sorely disappointed. As it currently stands, I will not be staying with this hotel again and im sharing my experiences so that other people won't make the same mistake I did"

"Booked our trip when we saw a great deal for this place. Upon arrival, realised quickly why it was cheaper than the other places in the area. We were told at check in, on the first day of a long weekend, that ‘bad news’ - the air con in our apartment was not working. Predicted temps 32-34° each day. We were offered a measly 15% discount for this, which we managed to get to 25%. Wow. The room was disgusting and outdated - broken lamp, stained dirty couch, broken bed, uncomfortable mattresses, broken doors, no air flow, terrible slow fans, lights without lightbulbs. We expected the room would be a little outdated, but this was unliveable and even for what we paid, this was a ripoff. We got about 3 hours sleep each night because it was so hot, to the point that we even considered leaving at 1am and driving 2.5 hours home on our second night because we simply couldn’t do it again. I would never wish this place upon my worst enemy. How they can ethically sell us that room, is beyond me. What made all this worse was the attitude from the staff at check in: ‘feel free to find somewhere else’ basically. What would’ve been nice was being told when the aircon broke, which was earlier in the week - we would’ve potentially had time to cancel and find alternative arrangements, or worse case know to bring pedestal fans from home (since these weren’t provided either, thanks so much!)."
