The Clifton Seafront Hotel

Nice seaside hotel across the Rd from seafront. Lovely promenade to walk along seafront. Hotel a little faded due to age of building however clean bright and comfortable. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again. Excellent value for money breakfast was included. Plenty of tea and coffee in room.

The traffic noise, especially at night, was unacceptable (no fault of the hotel). The buffet breakfast ran from 7:30 onwards; after 8 plates and food were stone cold. The room heating was excellent, and staff always willing and helpful.

One of the better traditional hotels on the sea front. Very reasonably priced for the stay.

What a lovely stay, we were in 316, at the back no view but you get what you pay for, fantastic people that manage it. Very welcome nothing was too much. Breakfast was great lots of choice more than enough to to satisfy any taste. Very busy would go again. Thank you chrissie and Karl

Upon returning to book in after 2pm we were shown to a sea view room on the 2nd floor. Avoid the stairs use the lift althou can only have 2 people in it. It does say 3 but I think they mean 3 skinny people no bigger than a box!! The room I will say was clean but no bigger than a shoe box and very very dated. Furniture tatty. The en-suite book to go in because it’s tiny. The shower cubicle just don’t expect to be able to wash your hair because all you have is a dribble so you will be lucky to catch the water. Don’t fall back on the bed or you will break your back as a board is underneath the mattress!!! Breakfast well I must give 10/10 for presentation but unless you like a cooked breakfast cold and rubbery then give it a miss. The toast they serve up is cold but if you ask for more it comes out hot!!! Basically toast and breakfast is prepared so just ask for hot toast. Coffee is a personally taste perhaps ask if you like it strong, medium or weak. The coffee blown my socks off and I could not even drink it. Sea view is beautiful but as long as you want it day and night because the curtains don’t draw that’s great…. So all in all not a good stay and for the price of £65.00 per night I would expect something better. So if you don’t mind all the above then book but if you do mind my advice would be don’t and look around….

Free on street parking, right outside the hotel, gets things off to a flying start. A very warm welcome from the owner, continued the bright start. OK we did not get a sea view but that's down to the luck of the draw, I guess. The room itself was tired but functional. The bedding reminded me of something my mum would have (and she has sadly been dead 15 years) The bathroom has one of those infernal sliding doors which are one of my pet hates. The wall mounted TV was smaller than my laptop and I had neglected to bring binoculars. The breakfast looked fine but upon tucking in it downgraded itself to fair. The army of staff however were very friendly, but diners are allowed to wander a bit, searching for where they should sit. The answer is actually anywhere they like. At £85 the room represented very average VFM and I am undecided about returning, as we are regular visitors to the town.

Had a super week at the Clifton Hotel in Morecambe and so well looked after by the owners and the staff. Rooms clean and well cared for and a super full English breakfast every day. Thank you to the Clifton on the sea front
